Claims (8)

1. A loom having drive means and a transverse bearer (3, 3a) which extends over the cloth width of the loom and on which at least one electric or electronic control unit (11, 11 a, 11b) connected to the drive means is disposed, the control unit comprising control elements (switches 14-19) more particularly for starting, stopping and controlling the loom, characterised in that the transverse bearer (3, 3a) has at least one rail-like guide member for the control unit (11, 11 a, 11 b), the same has at least one retaining part guidable in movement together with the guide member, and means for securing the control unit (11,11 a, 11 b) are associated with the guide member.
2. A loom according to claim 1, characterised in that the guide member is a component (retaining rail 8) adapted to be releasably secured to the transverse bearer (3, 3a).

A loom according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the guide member comprises two parallel guide paths (grooves 9, 10) disposed substantially opposite one another and adapted to receive two retaining parts of the control unit (11, 11 a, 11 b) which are introducible between the guide paths, the same being in the form of grooves (9, 10) which extend over at least some of the cloth width of the loom.
4. A loom according to any of claims 1-3, characterised in that the means for securing the control unit (11, 11 a, 11 b) comprise at least one spacer (12) which is movable along the guide member and which is adjustable relatively to the control unit (11, 11a, 11b).

A loom according to any of the previous claims, characterised in that near the guide member there is a space (25) which is disposed between the control unit (11, 11 a, 11 b) and a wall part of the transverse bearer (3, 3a) and which is adapted to receive a connecting cable (ribbon cable 23) extending along the transverse bearer (3, 3a), and at least one connecting element (22) connectable to such cable is associated with the control unit (11, 11 a, 11 b).
6. A loom according to any of the previous claims, characterised in that the control unit (11,11 a, 11 b) comprises a panel-like support member (printed circuit board 13) on which the control elements (switches 14-19) are mounted.

A loom according to any of the previous claims, characterised in that the guide member has an outer wall which is disposed at a distance from the transverse bearer 3, 3a and which is formed near where the or each control unit (11, 11 a, 11 b) is disposed with recesses (21) giving access to the control elements (switches 14-19) of the control unit (11, 11a, 11b).

A method of mounting at least one control unit on the loom according to any of claims 1-7, characterised in that the control unit (11, 11 a, 11 b) is brought together with the guide member from one end thereof, moved over at least some of guide member length into a predetermined operative position, then secured therein and connected to a control'system (ribbon cable 23) connected to the drive means, and the guide member is secured to a transverse bearer (3, 3a) of the loom.
