- Such an electrical rotary switch is known from DE-AS 2 036 775. It consists of a rotary knob, two contact bridges, a printed circuit board, a compression spring and a washer. In the assembled state of the rotary switch, the spring pulls the pin downward away from the circuit board via the disk, so that the contact bridges are pressed resiliently against the circuit board by the rotary knob.
- the balls formed at the two ends of the contact bridges and the two-part design result in expensive manufacture of the contact bridges, which in the exemplary embodiment shown here have to be produced either as turned or molded parts.
- the object of the invention is therefore to provide an electrical rotary switch which has as few components as possible with a small space requirement and costs, which is quick and easy to assemble and which nevertheless operates as user-friendly as possible with high functional reliability.
- the fastening element, the spring element and the switching element is formed by a single, elastically deformable plate element.
- the plate element according to the invention secures and guides the switching wheel on the printed circuit board without play, secures the contact bridges between the switching wheel and the printed circuit board and compares the desired locking function to the switching wheel.
- the rotary switch can be easily assembled by hand without the need for additional tools. When the rotary switch is actuated, the circuit board remains unaffected by switching forces.
- a particularly simple assembly of the rotary switch is achieved in that the plate element is formed on the underside of the circuit board and in that the plate element with the free End of the pin is connected via a positive connection, preferably via a bayonet-type closure or via a snap connection.
- This simple type of connection also enables the rotary switch to be replaced easily without the circuit board having to be replaced at the same time.
- the grid effect on the rotary switch can be achieved according to the invention in a particularly simple manner in that a tongue which is angled to the plate element is formed on the edge of the plate element and penetrates an opening formed on the printed circuit board and which resiliently latches with its free end into one of the recesses, the Recesses are formed on the underside of the ratchet wheel opposite the printed circuit of the circuit board.
- the resilient tongue acting on the switching wheel on the one hand secures the plate element against rotation and always brings the switching wheel into a precisely predetermined grid position when the rotary switch is turned.
- the ratchet wheel can be rotated without play and snaps almost automatically into the desired switching position without having to be readjusted by hand.
- the recesses are substantially V-shaped, that the tongue extending from the plate element is essentially L-shaped in cross-section, and that the leg, which extends at right angles from the longer leg of the tongue, is connected to the ratchet wheel is arched that it snaps into any recess of the ratchet wheel without play.
- the length of the perpendicularly penetrating the circuit board portion of the tongue is dimensioned so that the plate element is biased between the recesses and its attachment to the pin.
- the spring force of the plate element can thus be determined by the thickness, the material and the geometrical dimensions of the plate element, with the last feature being able to achieve particularly soft spring characteristics on the plate element due to the great freedom of space.
- a sheet metal tab is formed on the edge opposite the tongue on the plate element and engages in a depression formed on the circuit board.
- the pretension of the plate element with respect to the printed circuit board and the pin can be increased according to the invention in that the plate element has projections which are directed towards the underside of the printed circuit board and rest there.
- the plate element is thus biased by both the tongue and the projections.
- the plate element is pressed relatively evenly against the pin, whereby a good bending stress distribution is also formed in the plate element.
- Adequate spring forces with particularly thin-walled material and a long service life are achieved when using spring steel sheet, so that the axial length of the rotary switch increases only slightly.
- the plate element can be produced particularly inexpensively and simply using the stamping and bending method.
- the contact bridge is arranged in a recess formed on the ratchet wheel, the edge of which be the contact bridge with little play limits and that in the assembled state of the rotary switch, the circuit board secures the contact bridge in the recess of the switching wheel against falling out. With this arrangement, additional holding means for the contact bridge are not required.
- the ratchet does not cause short circuits on the circuit board and at the same time is easy and cheap to manufacture, it is made of plastic.
- two stops limiting the rotation of the switching wheel are formed on the upper side facing away from the printed circuit board, with stops arranged in the housing between the two stops engaging, further stops can be brought into operative connection.
- the housing can be part of a coffee machine or other electrical device, for example.
- a driver arrangement is formed on the top of the ratchet wheel, which is used to receive and fasten a rotary knob and that the rotary knob penetrates the housing to the outside.
- the two-part design of the rotary knob and ratchet wheel means that different materials can be selected for these parts according to their function and that the housing can be removed from the base of the machine after the rotary knob has been removed.
- the electrical rotary switch 1 is formed in a housing 2, which is part of a coffee machine, for example, below a housing wall 3.
- the electric rotary switch 1 consists of a switching wheel 4, a plate element 5 and a contact bridge 6.
- the switching wheel 4 corresponds to the shape of a circular disk which is formed in the drawing above a printed circuit board 7 and which runs essentially parallel to the latter.
- Electrically conductive switching paths are printed on the surface 8 of the printed circuit board 7 and are connected to at least one control circuit attached to the surface 8 of the printed circuit board 7.
- the control circuit is also not shown in the drawing.
- blind hole 10 On the top 9 of the ratchet wheel 4 opposite the housing wall 3 there is a blind hole 10 which runs concentrically to the ratchet wheel 4 and which runs perpendicularly to the top 9 in the drawing downward.
- the cross section of the blind bore 10 is essentially rectangular and has a radially outwardly extending recess 12 on one of its longer side surfaces 11.
- the blind hole 10 serves to receive a pin formed on a rotary knob which, like the rotary knob, is not shown in the drawing.
- the pin protrudes upward out of the housing 2 via a bore 13 formed in the housing wall 3, which runs concentrically to the blind bore 10, and is connected to the manually operated rotary knob.
- a catch element which is formed on the pivot of the rotary knob but not shown, engages in the recess 12, as a result of which the position of the rotary knob relative to the housing 2 and the rotary switch 1 is clearly determined.
- On the top 9 two stops 14, 15 are formed on the peripheral edge of the ratchet wheel 4, which extend upwards in the drawing and which are at the same radius at a predetermined angle from each other.
- a stop 16 formed on the housing 2 engages in the annular space formed between the two stops 14, 15 and extends from the housing wall 3 downwards in the drawing.
- a blind pin 17, which runs concentrically to the blind hole 10 and adjoins the blind hole 10 in the drawing downward, penetrates a through hole 18 formed on the printed circuit board 7 and is centered in the through hole 18.
- the pin 17 tapers over the ring step 19 such that an annular groove 20 is formed on the pin 17.
- the width of the annular groove 20 is not much greater than the thickness of the plate element 5.
- the annular groove 20 is adjoined at the bottom by a pin 17 with a substantially rectangular cross section, the largest outer diameter 22 of which corresponds to the largest outer diameter of the pin 17 .
- the distance between the two side surfaces 23, 24 is just as large as the distance between the two side surfaces 25, 26 of the bore 27 formed in the plate element 5 according to FIG. 4.
- the cross section of FIG Bore 27 according to FIG. 4 corresponds to the outer dimension of section 21 according to FIG. 5, it is only slightly larger than section 21, so that section 21 can be passed through bore 27.
- the section 21 thus forms, with the bore 27 and the plate element 5, the bayonet catch of the rotary switch 1.
- the diameter of the annular groove 20 according to FIG. 1 almost corresponds to the width of the section 21, measured over the shortest length of the two side surfaces 23, 24 according to FIG. 5.
- the plate element 5 is centered in the annular groove 20 over the two side surfaces 25, 26.
- the section 21 is arranged below the plate element 5 in the drawing and rests with its contact surface 28 on the underside 29 of the plate element 5.
- the plate element 5 is essentially trapezoidal in plan view. 1 and 4, a sheet metal tab 30 is formed on the plate element 5, which extends perpendicularly upward to the plate element according to FIG. 1 and which engages in a slot 31 adapted to the sheet tab 30 in the printed circuit board 7 .
- a tongue 32 of L-shaped cross section is formed according to FIGS. 1 and 4, which penetrates an upward hole 33 in the circuit board 7 in cross section in the drawing. 1, 2 and 4, rectangular sheet metal strips 36, 37 are formed laterally on both sides in FIGS. 1, 2 and 4, which are delimited by the side walls 38, 39 of the bore 33.
- the side walls 38, 39 serve to prevent the plate element 5 from tipping sideways.
- a shorter leg 40 adjoins the longer leg 34 at right angles and runs to the right in the drawing according to FIG. 1.
- the shorter leg 40 forms the foot of the L-shaped tongue 32.
- the foot 40 is arched upward according to FIG. 2 and engages in a recess 42 which is formed in cross-section and is V-shaped in the cross section V-shaped. 2 and 5, a plurality of serrated elevations 43 of the same dimensions are integrally formed on the underside 41 of the switching wheel 4 on the radially outer edge, between which the recesses 42 are located.
- the recesses 42 provide the latching action with the foot 40 when the rotary switch 1 is actuated.
- the radius of the upward curvature of the foot 40 is dimensioned such that it engages in the recesses 42 without play.
- projections 44, 45 are pressed into the plate element 5 at the upper and lower edges, which, according to FIG. 2, rest on the underside of the printed circuit board 7, as a result of which the plate element 5 is preloaded and in this area a certain distance from the printed circuit board 7 has.
- a contact bridge 48 in the pocket 46 the base plate 49 of which is adapted to the pocket 46 and is inserted loosely into the pocket 46.

- FIG. 3 instead of the bayonet connection shown in FIG. 1, a snap connection 52 between the plate element 5 and the switching wheel 4 is shown.
- the pin 17 is slotted at its free end, so that the webs 53, 54 formed thereby are pressed radially inwards in a spring-like manner when the pin 17 is pressed into the circular bore formed in the plate element 5.
- the webs 53, 54 return to their starting position, so that the locking lugs 56, 57 engage behind the plate element 5 from below.
- a positive connection between the switching wheel 4 and the plate element 5 is achieved in a simple manner.
- the assembly of the rotary switch 1 is as follows.
- the switching wheel 4 is held so that the underside 41, as shown in FIG. 5, comes to lie upwards.
- the contact bridge 48 is now inserted into the pocket 46, as shown in FIG. 1.
- the circuit board 7 is placed on the ratchet wheel 4, the pin 17 penetrating the through hole 18.
- the plate element 5 with its bore 27 is placed on the section 21. It should be noted that the sheet metal tab 30 engages in the slot 31 and the tongue 32 in the bore 33.
- the plate element 5 is pushed onto the pin 17 until the bore 27 has reached the height of the annular groove 20. Subsequently, the switching wheel 4 is rotated and the section 21 now projects beyond the side surfaces 25, 26.
- the assembly of the rotary switch 1 has ended.
- the plate element 5 is prestressed via the annular groove 20 such that the shorter leg 40 and the contact tabs 50, 51 are pretensioned on the switching wheel 5 or on the surface 8 of the conductor plate 7 If the circuit board 7 is then installed with the rotary switch 1 in the housing 2, it must be ensured that the stop 16 engages between the two stops 14, 15. This limits the angle of rotation of the rotary switch 1, so that on the one hand the plate element 5 can never be detached from the pin 17 and on the other hand only the switch positions provided for the rotary switch 1 can be set. Because of the relatively large lever arm, when the rotary switch 1 is turned, the tongue 32 slides relatively easily from one to the other recess 42.
- the contact tabs 50, 51 are also designed as resilient tongues, they always slide with a constant contact force on the surface 8 of the Printed circuit board 7, whereby radio (formation) is largely avoided.
- the contact force of the contact lugs 50, 51 is additionally influenced by the spring force of the plate element 5.

Description
The invention relates to an electrical rotary switch, which is attached to a printed circuit board with a printed circuit board, with a rotatably mounted on the circuit board, with at least one contact bridge that connects at least two conductor tracks of the printed circuit when the rotary switch is connected, with one of the Switching gear outgoing, the printed circuit board penetrating journal, which can be secured on the underside of the printed circuit board opposite the printed circuit by a fastening element on the printed circuit board, with a spring element which presses the contact bridge against the printed circuit board and with grid-shaped recesses formed on the rotary switch, into the at least engages a switching element resilient according to the rotational position of the ratchet wheel.
Such an electrical rotary switch is known from DE-AS 2 036 775.
With this rotary switch, it is to be regarded as less advantageous that, since the hole diameter of the disk is slightly smaller than the outside diameter of the pin, relatively high lift forces arise during the assembly process in order to press the disk into the groove provided for the purpose of positive attachment via the pin . This requires special assembly tools, which are associated with increased costs. The spring shown as a separate item also has a disadvantageous effect on the cost of the rotary switch, apart from the increased assembly effort.
Furthermore, the balls formed at the two ends of the contact bridges and the two-part design result in expensive manufacture of the contact bridges, which in the exemplary embodiment shown here have to be produced either as turned or molded parts.
Another disadvantage is the functionality of the rotary switch, in which the balls of the contact bridges slide out of the holes provided in the circuit board each time the switch is actuated, which can cause premature damage to the often very thin circuit board. Moving the rotary knob in its axial direction during a switching operation is also disadvantageous.
The object of the invention is therefore to provide an electrical rotary switch which has as few components as possible with a small space requirement and costs, which is quick and easy to assemble and which nevertheless operates as user-friendly as possible with high functional reliability.
This object is achieved in that the fastening element, the spring element and the switching element is formed by a single, elastically deformable plate element. The plate element according to the invention secures and guides the switching wheel on the printed circuit board without play, secures the contact bridges between the switching wheel and the printed circuit board and compares the desired locking function to the switching wheel. The rotary switch can be easily assembled by hand without the need for additional tools. When the rotary switch is actuated, the circuit board remains unaffected by switching forces.
A particularly simple assembly of the rotary switch is achieved in that the plate element is formed on the underside of the circuit board and in that the plate element with the free End of the pin is connected via a positive connection, preferably via a bayonet-type closure or via a snap connection. This simple type of connection also enables the rotary switch to be replaced easily without the circuit board having to be replaced at the same time.
The grid effect on the rotary switch can be achieved according to the invention in a particularly simple manner in that a tongue which is angled to the plate element is formed on the edge of the plate element and penetrates an opening formed on the printed circuit board and which resiliently latches with its free end into one of the recesses, the Recesses are formed on the underside of the ratchet wheel opposite the printed circuit of the circuit board. The resilient tongue acting on the switching wheel on the one hand secures the plate element against rotation and always brings the switching wheel into a precisely predetermined grid position when the rotary switch is turned. As a result, the ratchet wheel can be rotated without play and snaps almost automatically into the desired switching position without having to be readjusted by hand. It has proven to be particularly advantageous that the recesses are substantially V-shaped, that the tongue extending from the plate element is essentially L-shaped in cross-section, and that the leg, which extends at right angles from the longer leg of the tongue, is connected to the ratchet wheel is arched that it snaps into any recess of the ratchet wheel without play.
So that the contact lugs are pressed sufficiently firmly against the circuit board by the switching wheel and at the same time the torque required to drive over the locking elements on the switching wheel in remains acceptable limits, it is provided in a development of the invention that the length of the perpendicularly penetrating the circuit board portion of the tongue is dimensioned so that the plate element is biased between the recesses and its attachment to the pin. The spring force of the plate element can thus be determined by the thickness, the material and the geometrical dimensions of the plate element, with the last feature being able to achieve particularly soft spring characteristics on the plate element due to the great freedom of space.
So that the plate element is non-rotatably held on the circuit board without the aid of the journal bearing, a sheet metal tab is formed on the edge opposite the tongue on the plate element and engages in a depression formed on the circuit board.
The pretension of the plate element with respect to the printed circuit board and the pin can be increased according to the invention in that the plate element has projections which are directed towards the underside of the printed circuit board and rest there. The plate element is thus biased by both the tongue and the projections. In this way, among other things, the plate element is pressed relatively evenly against the pin, whereby a good bending stress distribution is also formed in the plate element. Adequate spring forces with particularly thin-walled material and a long service life are achieved when using spring steel sheet, so that the axial length of the rotary switch increases only slightly. The plate element can be produced particularly inexpensively and simply using the stamping and bending method.
In a development of the invention it is provided that the contact bridge is arranged in a recess formed on the ratchet wheel, the edge of which be the contact bridge with little play limits and that in the assembled state of the rotary switch, the circuit board secures the contact bridge in the recess of the switching wheel against falling out. With this arrangement, additional holding means for the contact bridge are not required.
So that the ratchet does not cause short circuits on the circuit board and at the same time is easy and cheap to manufacture, it is made of plastic.
So that after the installation of the rotary switch in a housing the bayonet lock can no longer be released, it is provided according to the invention that two stops limiting the rotation of the switching wheel are formed on the upper side facing away from the printed circuit board, with stops arranged in the housing between the two stops engaging, further stops can be brought into operative connection. The housing can be part of a coffee machine or other electrical device, for example.
It is advantageous that a driver arrangement is formed on the top of the ratchet wheel, which is used to receive and fasten a rotary knob and that the rotary knob penetrates the housing to the outside. The two-part design of the rotary knob and ratchet wheel means that different materials can be selected for these parts according to their function and that the housing can be removed from the base of the machine after the rotary knob has been removed.
An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing and will be described in more detail below.

In Fig. 1, the electrical rotary switch 1 is formed in a
On the top 9 of the
According to FIGS. 1 and 5, a
On the side opposite the
According to FIGS. 1 and 2, a
In FIGS. 2 and 4,
In FIG. 3, instead of the bayonet connection shown in FIG. 1, a
Die Montage des Drehschalters 1 ist folgende. The assembly of the rotary switch 1 is as follows.
During the assembly of the rotary switch 1, the
The
