Aus der Fig. 1 ist zu ersehen, daß beidseits des Trennmessers 16 Gegenbacken 17 und 18 vorgesehen sind, wobei die Gegenbacke 17 an dem Träger 4 und die Gegenbacke 18 am Balken 15 gehalten sind. Mit den beiden Gegenbacken 17 und 18 wirken eine bewegliche Schweißbacke 19 und ein beweglicher Klemmbalken 20 zusammen. Schweißbacken 19 wie auch Klemmbalken 20 sind gleitend auf eine Zugstange 21 aufgesetzt und werden von Federn 22 und 23 in Ruhestellung, d.h. in angehobener Stellung, gegen den mit der Zugstange 21 fest verbundenen Klemmring 24 gedrückt. Die Zugstange 21 selbst wird von einer maschinenfesten Führung 26 gehalten und ist über eine Lasche 25 gelenkig an einen Kipphebel 27 angelenkt. Die in der Fig. 1 dargestellte Lage der Maschine zeigt die Lage, in der gerade ein Abschnitt von einer Endlosbahn abgeschnitten wird, d.h. die Zugstange 21 ist abgesenkt, der Klemmbacken 20 drückt die Folie gegen die Trennbacke 18, der Schweißbalken 19 drückt gegen die Gegenbacke 17 und verschweißt die beiden Lagen eines Folienschlauches. Claims (4)

1. An apparatus for making bags from a two-ply web of thermoplastic material comprising pinch rollers, which intermittently advance the web by respective bag lengths between welding bars, the upper one of which is provided with a drive for lifting and lowering that bar, also comprising a severing knife, which is disposed below the web beside the lower welding bar and is guided parallel to the latter and is secured to an endless tensile element, which revolves around rollers, wherein the upper welding bar is adapted to depress the web into the cutting range of said knife, characterized in that upper and lower guide rods or air-blasting tubes (36, 37) in a comblike arrangement are provided in rows which extend in annular grooves of the pinch rollers (34, 35) which immediately precede the welding bars (17, 19), which rods or tubes serve to feed the web and guide the web between them for a movement between the opened welding bars (17, 19) in a plane which is disposed above the path for the knife, the lower welding bar (17) is fixed to the mainframe, the continuously revolving knife (16) extends during the making of the transverse seam weld in that plane of the web which is defined by the lower welding bar (17), and means are provided which serve to pivotally move guide rods or air-blasting tubes (37) of the lower row towards the lower welding bar (17) and are actuated simultaneously with the lowering of the upper welding bar (19).

An apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that clamping bars or second welding bars (18, 20) are provided, which are parallel to the welding bars (17, 19), the path for the knife extends between said clamping bars or second welding bars, and the lower clamping bar or second welding bar (18) extends in the plane of the first lower welding bar (17).
3. An apparatus particularly according to claim 1, characterized in that the upper course of the tensile element (14) is supported on a convexly curved carrier (15) or on a slideway or a roller bed so that the knife (16) performs a transverse movement relative to the plane of the web.
4. An apparatus according to any of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that a drive is provided for intermittently lifting and lowering the upper welding bar and/or upper clamping bar or bars (19, 20) and via a push rod (21) and a link (25) is operated from a rocker lever, which is pivotally movable by a cam or eccentric drive (29), and the guide rods or air-blasting tubes (37) of the lower row are pivotally movable by a coupling rod (31), which is connected to the lever (27).
