Description

The invention relates to a glass panel washing machine with the features specified in the preamble of claim 1. Such a glass panel washing machine is required at the start of an insulating glass assembly line. The glass sheets are washed in such a washing machine in a pass and then dried. For this purpose, glass sheet washing machines are equipped with two rows of brush rollers, one of which acts on one large area and the other row on the other large area of the glass sheets. Another necessary component of the glass sheet washing machine is a horizontal conveyor which conveys the glass sheets horizontally or horizontally through the machine. The glass panels are supported over one of their two large areas; the supporting elements used for this purpose are generally rollers with axes arranged transversely to the running direction of the horizontal conveyor. Together with their running surface, these rollers define a level, which is referred to below as the glass panel running level; it is the level in which the large-area glass panels on which the rollers engage lie. The glass panel running level is a level predetermined by the support rollers in the glass panel washing machine.

Modern insulating glass assembly lines are constructed in such a way that they work and process the glass panels in an almost vertical position. Accordingly, the glass sheet washing machines used in such modern assembly lines also have an almost perpendicular glass sheet running level.

The brushing rollers are usually arranged in pairs in the glass sheet washing machines, i.e. each brushing roller on one side of the glass panel running level is opposite a brushing roller on the other side of the glass panel running level. In the known glass sheet washing machines, the brush rollers are driven separately from the drive of the horizontal conveyor, in such a way that the brush rollers arranged on one and the same side of the glass plate running plane are driven in the same direction, but the brush rollers lying on different sides can be driven in opposite directions. All brush rollers are driven by a common motor and are connected to each other by gear elements for this purpose.

The cleaning power of known washing machines cannot yet be fully satisfactory. The washing process usually lasts so long that the washing machines in modern assembly lines for edge-sealed insulating glass are the slowest station, i.e. that they ultimately determine the cycle time and with it the maximum possible output of an assembly line.

Diese Aufgabe wird gelöst durch eine Glastafelwaschmaschine mit denThe invention is therefore based on the object of providing a glass panel washing machine of the type mentioned at the outset with improved cleaning power and a shorter cycle time. This task is solved by a glass sheet washing machine with the

Advantageous developments dun g s of the invention are subject of the subclaims.

The fact that at least one of the brush rollers arranged on one and the same side of the glass sheet running level can be driven in the opposite direction to the other brush rollers arranged on the same side improves their cleaning effect considerably. The improved cleaning effect enables the glass panels to pass through the washing machine faster than before.

Preferably, adjacent brush rollers can be driven in opposite directions from the brush rollers arranged on one and the same side of the glass sheet running level. As a result, impurities adhering to the glass sheets are alternately swept by the brush rollers in one direction and in the opposite direction. This makes the cleaning effect of the brush rollers optimal.

The number of brushing rollers is at least two, preferably four, on each side of the glass sheet running level.

Within the scope of the invention, the two brushing rollers can be designed to be driven in the same direction as well as in opposite directions in the pairs formed from opposing brush rollers arranged on both sides of the glass sheet running plane. However, they can preferably be driven in the same direction. This has the advantage that the decelerating and accelerating action of the two brushing rollers on the continuous glass sheet is canceled in each individual pair of brushing rollers, whereby the running of the glass sheet is more uniform and the effort required to achieve a slip-free run is reduced. On the other hand, even running of the glass sheet favors even cleaning of the glass sheet.

Basically, it is possible to connect all the brush rollers of the glass sheet washing machine to one another by means of gear elements and to drive them by a common motor; it is the same with the well-known glass panel washing machines. Are preferred However, all brush rollers can all be driven separately from each other, because this makes it easy to select the direction of rotation and the speed of rotation for each brush roller individually and to optimize them with the aim of achieving a particularly good washing result.

The invention is applicable to washing machines through which glass sheets are passed standing up and to those through which the glass sheets are passed lying down. However, application to the first-mentioned washing machines is preferred.

As a preferred embodiment of the invention, a glass sheet washing machine with an approximately vertical glass sheet running plane is shown schematically in the accompanying drawings and is described below.
  • F i g. 1 shows the arrangement of the brush rollers and drive shafts in the washing machine as seen from the front,
  • F i g. 2 shows the cross section II-II through the arrangement shown in FIG. 1, and
  • F i g. 3 shows the cross section II-II through the arrangement shown in FIG. 1, but with a modified direction of rotation of the brush rollers.

The shafts 1 and 1a carry a number of rollers 2 and 2a distributed over their length, which are attached to the shafts 1 and 1a in a rotationally fixed manner. In the example shown, each shaft 1, 1a carries four such rollers 2 and 2a. The running surfaces of the rollers 2a of the rear shafts are arranged so that they have a common tangential plane 6 on their front side, which is referred to here as the glass plate running plane. Glass panels 5, which are passed through the washing machine, lean against the rear rollers 2a with their large rear surface, which coincides with the glass panel running level 6. With its lower edge, the glass sheets 5 stand on a horizontal row of rollers 4, the axes of rotation of which run perpendicular to the glass sheet running plane 6. Of the rollers 2 arranged in front of the glass panel running level 6, each is opposite a corresponding roller 2a from the group of rollers lying behind the glass panel running level, ie the shafts 1 and 1a as well as the rollers 2 and 2a each form pairs of lying in front of and behind the glass panel running level 6 Elements.

The shafts 1 and 1a and the rollers 4 can be driven synchronously with one another; together they form a horizontal conveyor through which the glass sheets 5 are conveyed through the washing machine.

To clean the glass panels 5, the washing machine is equipped with four pairs 8 and 8a, 9 and 9a, 10 and 10a, 11 and 11a of brush rollers, the axes of which run parallel to the shafts 1 and 1a. Four brush rollers 8a, 9a, 10a and 11a are arranged behind the glass panel running level 6 and the remaining four brush rollers 8 to 11 in front. The brush roller pairs and the Shaft pairs 1, 1a are arranged alternately in succession in the running direction 7. However, one could also assign two such shafts to each brush roller and arrange them on both sides of the respective brush roller. The number of four brush roller pairs is a preferred choice; in principle, the washing machine can also have more or fewer brush roller pairs.

The brush rollers 8 to 11 and 8a to 11a can be driven separately from the shafts 1 and 1a and separately from the rollers 4 by motors 19 which are arranged fixed to the frame above the brush rollers. The frame of the washing machine, since it is not part of the invention and is not essential for understanding the invention, is not shown in detail. Z at least the brush rollers 8 to 11 arranged in front of the glass plate running level 6 are connected by cardan shafts 20 to the driven shafts 21 of their associated motor 19 in order to be able to change the distance of these brushing rollers 8 to 11 from the glass plate running level 6. The rear brush rollers 8a to 11a do not have to be adjustable, since the glass plate level 6 does not change its position with changing glass plate thicknesses.

The shafts 1 and 1a are supported at the top and bottom in bearings 3, the upper and lower roller journals 12 of the brushing rollers in bearings 13. The bearings of the shafts 1a and brushing rollers 8a to 11a arranged behind the glass panel running level 6 can be arranged together in an upper and a lower bearing block fixed to the frame, whereas the brushing rollers 8 to 11 arranged in front of the glass panel running level expediently individually in separate bearing blocks 15, 16, 17 and 18 are arranged, which are displaceable transversely to the glass panel running level 6.

As a result of the fact that the brush rollers can be driven individually in the washing machine according to the invention, one has the advantageous possibility of choosing the direction of rotation and the rotational speed of the brush rollers 8 to 11 and 8a to 11a independently of one another. The easiest way to choose the rotation speed of the various brush rollers is the same, but not their direction of rotation. Fig. 2 shows the choice of a direction of rotation, in which the two brush rollers 8, 8a or 9, 9a or 10, 10a or 11, 11a are driven in opposite directions in each pair of brush rollers and in which 7 adjacent brush rollers are also driven in opposite directions in the running direction are. The latter is not the case with known glass sheet washing machines and has the advantage that more intensive cleaning of the glass sheets is achieved. Another possibility of the drive is shown in FIG. 3: there the brush rollers adjacent in the running direction 7 are each driven in opposite directions, which has the advantage of thorough cleaning of the glass sheets. However, within a pair of brush rollers 8, 8a or 9, 9a or 10, 10a or 11, 11a, the brush rollers are not driven in opposite directions, but in the same direction; the latter is not the case with known glass plate washing machines and has the advantage that the retarding and accelerating action of the brushing rollers on the glass sheet 5 are canceled out within each pair of brushing rollers.
