Description

Stand der TechnikState of the art

The invention is based on an actuating device according to the preamble of claim 1. Such an actuating device is already known from DE-OS 30 23 691 and has various advantages. The operating means of this actuating device snaps into a latching end position with the support of its return spring at the end of its switch-on displacement path and is held there by the action of its return spring. The switch accordingly remains in the switched-on position until the operator deliberately releases the latching connection of the operating means with its guide, for example the housing of a machine tool. However, such actuators are not suitable as so-called dead man's switches, the operating means of which only have to be released in order for the switch to come into the off position. On the other hand, known dead man's switches are disadvantageous because they have to be kept in the switch-on position against the action of the return spring during the entire switch-on period. For safe resetting, the force of the return spring is so great that the Operator tired quickly when holding the operating device. This results in the handheld power tool being switched off unintentionally. At least the operator has to take more breaks, which would not be necessary due to the other workload. For the designer of switch actuation devices for hand-held power tools, there is the further difficulty that it is expedient for some machines of this type to use operating means which can only be deliberately released from their switched-on position, but which the dead man function is required for other machines or purposes. He must therefore manufacture different actuators for different purposes and keep them in stock. This makes production and warehousing relatively complex.

From DE-OS 32 01 744 a switch is known which acts by turning a locking plate either as a locking or as a dead man's switch. The locking plate has an inclined locking surface against which a button of the slide switch abuts in the case of the dead man's switch.

Vorteile der ErfindungAdvantages of the invention

The actuating device according to the invention defined in claim 1 has the advantage that it creates a dead man's switch, which can be kept practically fatigue-free in its switched-on position. Furthermore, that it creates the best prerequisites with a slight change in the operating means to convert an actuating device which can only be brought into the switch-off position consciously into an actuating device which works as a dead man's switch. Through the ramp, a slight pressure on the operating means transversely to its switch-on device is sufficient to maintain the switch-on position. The required holding force can be varied by selecting the slope of the ramp.

The measures listed in the subclaims enable advantageous developments and improvements of the actuating device specified in the main claim. The arrangement of two ramp-forming ribs and the arrangement of a latching recess in the housing and a latching lug on the operating means, which can be broken off during assembly, make separate storage of two operating means required for the different purposes unnecessary. If the dead man function is required for the intended switch, the latch on the operating device is simply broken off. This operating means then works together with the ramps in the manner according to the invention. If the latching lug is left on the operating means, the actuating device operates in the form described with the switch-on position until the return spring that maintains is released arbitrarily.

Beschreibung der AusführungsbeispieleDescription of the embodiments

Ein Schaltfinger 12 des Schalters 2 durchgreift eine Ausnehmung 13 im schalterseitigen Ende des Gestänges 3.A housing 1 of a hand tool holds a switch 2, a linkage 3, a return spring 4 and their abutment 5. In a bore 6 of a driver pin 7 one Operating means 8 engages the free end of the return spring 4. At the end of the linkage 3 facing away from the switch 2 there is a recess 9. This recess 9 can be penetrated by the driver pin 7. The driver pin 7 also passes through a guide slot 10 in a housing wall 11 on the outer surface of which the operating means 8 bears. A switch finger 12 of the switch 2 passes through a recess 13 in the switch-side end of the linkage 3.

A latch opening 14 in the housing wall 11 is designed to engage a latch 15 of the operating means 8. Ribs 16 are arranged on both sides of the guide slot 10 and the latching opening 14 and subsequent to the latching opening 14, which have a ramp 17 inclined in the switch-on direction for the switch 2. The two ribs 16 are overlapped by the operating means 8, which is hollow towards the housing wall 11. The front wall of the operating means 8 is referred to as the support wall 18 because it is used to support the operating means 8 on the ribs 16.

In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 4, the support wall 18 is supported on the ribs 16 in the switch-on position shown in FIG. In addition, the support wall 18 slides when the operating means 8 is moved in the direction of its switch-on position (arrow 19) over the ribs 16 and their inclined ramps 17 until the catch 15 of the operating means 8 according to FIGS. 1 and 2 meets the outer surface of the housing wall 11 and over this finally slides into the latch opening 14. The return spring 4 pulling in the direction of an arrow 20 in the opposite direction supports the latching movement by the tilting moment generated by it.

This tilting moment also causes the return spring 4 to hold the catch 15 in engagement with the catch opening 14 until the operator releases this catch connection by pressing on the end of the control means 8 opposite the support wall 18 (see FIGS. 1 and 2).

The same exemplary embodiment with the design of the operating means 8 according to FIGS. 3 and 4 acts as a dead man's switch. Supported by a notch 21 at the root of the locking lug 15, the locking lug 15 was broken off here. In the switched-on position of the operating means 8 modified in this way, the support wall 18 bears against the ramps 17. The pull of the return spring 4 is not able to pull the operating means 8 over the ramps 17 and the remaining area of the ribs 16 as long as the operator presses the operating means 8 towards the housing wall 11. The force to be applied for this pressure perpendicular to the switching movement is substantially less than the force with which the return spring 4 can be overcome directly. It depends on the angle of inclination of the ramps 17 and the coefficient of friction for the friction between the bearing surface of the support wall 18 and the ramp surfaces. If this pressure does not apply to the operating means 8 (FIG. 3), the return spring 4 pulls the operating means 8 back over the ramps 17 and the remaining back of the ribs 16 into the switched-off position of the switching finger 12 of the switch 2.

In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 5, the construction of the actuating device is the same as that of the device according to FIGS. 1 to 4, except for the design of ramps 22. FIG. 5 shows an operating means 8 in which the latch 15 has broken off. The ramps 22 have two transverse grooves 23 which are narrower than the support wall 18 is thick. When using the 5 as a dead man's switch engages the inner edge of the support wall 18 in one of the transverse grooves 23 as long as the operator presses vertically on the operating means 8. The required holding force is even lower than in the case according to FIG. 3, because only the tilting moment can be overcome. If there is no pressure on the operating means 8, this operating means tilts under the pull of the return spring 4 around the lower edge of the support wall 18 until the sharp inner edge is lifted out of the transverse groove 23 into which it had engaged. Then the support surface of the support wall 18 slides freely over the ramps 17. The shift finger 12 of the switch 2 is also brought into its switch-off position in this way.
