Description

The invention relates to a method for transporting a fabric web in an embroidery or quilting machine according to the preamble of patent claim 1.

The invention also relates to an embroidery or quilting machine according to the preamble of claims 4 and 9.

Stick- und Steppmaschinen sind bekannt.Embroidery and quilting machines are known.

In the quilting machine according to European patent application 106810, the fabric is tensioned and returned in the processing area with the help of a pair of rollers that clamp the fabric on the take-off side and a tensioning roller (dancer roller) that, by means of a rack and pinion drive, stores the fabric section that is being returned and simultaneously tensioned holds. With this known machine, the fabric cannot be transported forward and backward in the correct position, because when it is transported forward with the pair of draw-off rollers, the tension on the inlet side depends on the respective diameter and the mass of the stock rolls as well as on the inertia and the accuracy with which the dancer roll is moved ; when returning by a certain amount, on the other hand, only the tensioning roller acts, but its displacement is independent of the other parameters, such as fabric quality and thickness, etc. This changes the tension in the fabric within the processing area, which can lead to shifts in the embroidery designs.

In the quilting machine according to German published patent application 3002340, the fabric is transported forwards and backwards by pairs of rollers arranged on the inlet and outlet sides.

When the fabric is drawn in, its tension is influenced by the inertia of the fabric supply rolls; this voltage is completely eliminated during the return transport. These voltage differences also result in errors in the stitching or embroidery pattern in this device.

The object of the invention is to create conditions on the delivery side and on the take-off side of the processing area which enable an exact movement of the material during processing. In particular, the task is to reduce the inertial forces acting on the material web located in the processing area at the start of the material transport to a minimum and to create exactly the same conditions in both transport directions.

Another object of the invention is to design the sewing device arranged in the processing area with low mass in order to obtain an exact, reproducible embroidery image. According to the invention, these objects are achieved according to the characterizing features of claims 1, 4 and 9.

The mirror-image arrangement and design of the roller pairs and the dancer rollers assigned to them cause exactly the same conditions during the forward and backward transport of the fabric, both with regard to material tension and with respect to the inertia of the machine parts acting on the fabric in the processing area. In addition, all influencing factors on the part of the stock or intake roles are completely eliminated.

The sewing heads and gripper devices of the sewing device, which are provided with individual drives, can be moved and driven with electronically controlled drives at the specified speed and synchronously with one another, transversely to the fabric web, without large masses having to be moved or without an extension space for a sewing machine carrier being necessary to the side of the machine. It is irrelevant whether you use double lockstitch or chain stitch.

Further advantageous embodiments of the invention are described in the dependent claims.

B. drehzahlgesteuerte Gleichstrommotoren, vorgesehen. Der Antrieb der Walzen 7,8 ; 9, 10 ; 13, 14 ; 15,16 kann kontinuierlich oder schrittweise erfolgen.FIG. 1 shows a quilting machine 1 with a frame 3, connecting tubes 4, one drive motor 11 for each of the two pairs of rollers 7, 8 and 9, 10 that are in contact with each other under spring force and can be adjusted in a known manner, a drive motor 5 for the internal ones, also in Known manner deliverable pairs of rollers 13, 14 and 15, 16 (Figure 2), a drive motor 17 for moving a needle unit 19 and the associated gripper unit 21 transversely to the quilting machine 1. For the needle unit 19 and the gripper unit 21 drives 23 and 25, z. B. speed controlled DC motors provided. The drive of the rollers 7,8; 9, 10; 13, 14; 15, 16 can be continuous or gradual.

The webs of fabric 27 to be quilted are wound in a known manner on fabric supply rolls 29 in front of the machine 1.

Die Walzenpaare 13, 14 ; 15, 16 werden synchron angetrieben (Figuren 5 und 6).The drive of the roller pairs 7, 8; 9, 10 and 13, 14; 15, 16 takes place in a form-fitting manner with toothed belts or chains. The roller pairs 13, 14; 15, 16 are driven synchronously (Figures 5 and 6).

Between the inlet-side roller pairs 7, 8 and 13, 14 and between the outlet-side roller pairs 9, 10 and 15, 16, a dancer roller 31 and 33 are suspended on pivot arms 35 and 37 in a freely rotatable and pivotable manner. The three fabric webs 27, which are initially introduced individually into the pair of rollers 7, 8 on the inlet side, are guided together from there through the machine 1. From the pair of rollers 7, 8, the fabric webs 27 run downward around the dancer roll 31, from there upward into the pair of rollers 13, 14. In the examples, the rollers 13, 14 lie side by side. Of course, these can also be arranged one above the other like the pair of rollers 7, 8.

The pair of rollers 13, 14, together with the pair of rollers 15, 16, delimit the processing area 39 in which the panels 27 are quilted together. If it is an embroidery machine, embroidery takes place in this area.

Between the pair of rollers 15, 16 on the output side and the pair of rollers 9, 10, the fabric web 27 is guided around the dancer roller 33. The finished fabric web 27 leaves the machine 1 after the rollers 9, 10 and is rolled up or deposited in a known manner, shown in FIG. 3.

The drive 23 for the needle mechanism 19 and the drive 25 for the gripper mechanism 21 are connected to a controller 41 which controls the synchronous running of the needle 43 and the gripper (not visible) and at the beginning of the work the two mechanisms 19, 21 each in transferred a zero position. For this purpose, the needle 43 is brought into the highest position. The gripper is then synchronized in the gripper mechanism 21. When sewing, the forces acting on the needle mechanism 19 and the gripper mechanism 21 by the fabric web 27, or their thickness, quality, etc., are continuously monitored and any deviation from the synchronous running is compensated.

The displacement of the needle mechanism 19 and the gripper mechanism 21 transversely to the transport direction of the fabric webs 27 or parallel to the clamping points in the rollers 13, 14; 15, 16 is carried out by spindles 45, 47 driven synchronously by the drive motor 17, which are arranged in guide rails 49, 51 above and below the machining surface 39 and carry the needle mechanism 19 and the gripper mechanism 21 essentially without play. Instead of spindles 45, 47, steel cables, belts or chains can also be used to move the needle mechanism 19 and the gripper mechanism 21 (not shown).

Like the drives 23, 25 of the needle mechanism 19 and the gripper mechanism 21, the drive motor 17 for the spindles is controlled by the controller 41.

The operation of the quilting machine 1 is explained in more detail below. As already described above, the fabric webs 27 are inserted into the machine 1 and the finished end is fastened to an empty take-up roll 53, which is connected to a drive motor 55 and a slip clutch 57. The section of the fabric web 27 located in the processing area 39 is held under tension by the two pairs of rollers 13, 14 and 15, 16 and transported forward at a speed predetermined by the controller 41. The pair of rollers 7, 8 hold the fabric webs 27 coming from the fabric supply rollers 29 so that the fabric web section drawn into the processing area 39 is removed from the loop formed by the dancer roller 31. The fabric web section transported out of the processing area 39 enlarges the loop between the roller pairs 15, 16 and 9, 10. The dancer roll 33 holds the fabric web 27 in the loop tensioned in such a way that with identical mass of the dancer rolls 31, 33, the tension in both loops is the same is. This causes that when the transport direction of the fabric web 27 is reversed, i. H. When sewing in the opposite direction, the same forces act on the fabric web section to be processed which is located in the processing area 39. The clamping forces of the dancer rollers 31 and 33, which partially act through the nip on the roller pairs 13, 14 and 15, 16, are the same in both transport directions; the dancer roll 31 or 33 must be accelerated on the inlet side, this component is omitted on the outlet side. In continuous operation, of course, the material drawn from the loop at the dancer roll 31 must be replaced sporadically or the material accumulated in the loop at the dancer roll 33 must be removed. For this purpose, a switch 59 is arranged above the dancer roll 31, with which the drive of the rollers 7, 8 can be switched on and processed by the fabric rolls 29 until a further switch 61 is activated by the dancer roll 31, which activates the drive again switches off or until the drive is switched off again by a time relay. Corresponding switches are also attached to the dancer roller 33, where the switching takes place with the opposite sign, so that the rollers 9, 10 and the roller 53 are driven on the outlet side when the dancer roller 33 has reached the lowest point and the Loop can not be enlarged.

In FIG. 4, two quilting machines 1 are connected in series, the rollers on the inlet side being eliminated in the second machine. Another dancer role could also be interposed in order to increase the material supply between the two machines.

Of course, machines can also be connected in series for different work processes, e.g. B. a machine for cross seams and one for longitudinal seams.
