Abstract

The cleaning brush has in the inner region (11) of its brush head (3) a group of shorter bristle bundles (8) with harder bristles, which group is surrounded by a group (9, 10) of longer bristle bundles (6). Thus the cleaning brush (1) allows a combined effect of both types of bristle bundles in that the group of shorter bristle bundles (8) primarily exerts a scratching effect and the group of longer bristle bundles (6) primarily exerts a wiping effect. Additionally, under lesser pressure on the brush head (3), the brushing effect can be restricted to the longer and softer bristle bundles (6) in order to apply a gentler treatment to certain surfaces to be cleaned. The harder bristle bundles (8) also prevent premature wear of the cleaning brush. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a washing-up brush with a brush head adjoining a brush handle, in which numerous tufts of bristles are held at one end.

Washing brushes with harder and softer bristles are known for various cleaning tasks. The different degrees of hardness result from the bending behavior of the bristles, so that brushes can be moved along the surface to be cleaned with different amounts of force depending on the hardness of their bristles. Since different cleaning tasks arise when washing up, e.g. When removing burnt-on food residues or cleaning dishes that are only slightly dirty, it is disadvantageous to use different washing-up brushes for this. It has therefore already been proposed to provide a scraper or a group of harder bristle tufts on the back of the brush head (DE-GM 83 01 546.9), so that the washing brush, e.g. to remove incrustations, temporarily in a position rotated by 180 °, instead of using another washing-up brush.

Die Lösung dieser Aufgabe erfolgt aufgrund der Merkmale des Patentanspruchs 1.The object of the invention is to find a washing-up brush with an improved cleaning effect which can perform various cleaning tasks without changing its orientation to the surface to be cleaned. This object is achieved on the basis of the features of patent claim 1.

  • Fig.1 eine Seitenansicht einer erfindungsgemässen Abwaschbürste,
  • Fig.2 eine Ansicht der Unterseite der Abwaschbürste nach Fig.1,
The invention is explained in more detail below on the basis of an exemplary embodiment illustrated in the drawings. It shows:
  • 1 shows a side view of a washing-up brush according to the invention,
  • 2 shows a view of the underside of the washing-up brush Fig.1,
  • 3 shows a side view, cut in the region of the brush head, of the washing-up brush according to FIGS. 1 and 2 and
  • 4 shows a top view of a washing-up brush according to FIGS. 1 to 3.

The washing-up brush 1 of the exemplary embodiment shown has a brush head 3 arranged at an angle to the brush handle 2, so that the ends 5 of the longer bristle tufts 6 arranged in a plane 4 can be moved over the surface to be cleaned in a convenient position of the hand gripping the brush handle 2. In accordance with the pressure exerted on the washing-up brush 1, the longer and thus softer bristle tufts 6 bend out, so that the bristle end regions are set at a flatter angle to the surface to be cleaned. With greater pressure on the brush head 3 and correspondingly particularly flat alignment of the longer bristle tufts 6, the bristle tufts 6 come closer to the surface to be cleaned over an increasing length of their end regions, so that they increasingly exert a wiping action instead of a scratching action by means of their ends. In the case of washing-up brushes of a known design, a particularly strong pressure on the brush head, as a result of the consequent bending of the bristle tufts and the lack of contact of the bristle tips with the surface to be cleaned, results in a deterioration in the cleaning effect, although the user believes that a greater cleaning effect can be achieved by applying greater force . Excessive force can also lead to permanent deformation of the bristle tufts. The harder bristle tufts 8 provided according to the invention in the inner region of the arrangement of tufts of bristles are considerably shorter, so that they only come into contact with the surface to be cleaned after the brush head 3 has been pressed hard. Due to their hardness or their higher bending stiffness, the shorter and harder bristle tufts 8 support the brush head on the surface to be cleaned and thus prevent the longer bristle tufts 6 from bending too strongly or disadvantageously. The shorter bristle tufts keep their relatively steep orientation Relative to the surface to be cleaned due to its higher rigidity even with strong pressure on the washing-up brush 1, so that its predominantly scratching cleaning action is retained, while at the same time the longer bristle tufts 6 exert an additional wiping effect. The combined effect between longer and shorter bristle tufts leads to faster and more thorough cleaning.

The harder brushing effect of the shorter bristle tufts 8 results from their shorter bending or kinking lengths. In addition, the harder tufts of bristles can also consist of thicker bristles and / or a harder material.

The different bristle tufts 6, 8 can be arranged relative to one another according to different patterns. What is essential is the grouped arrangement of both types of bristle tufts, in that the group of the harder bristle tufts 8 is at least partially enclosed by the group of the softer bristle tufts. For example, at least one row 9 of longer bristle tufts 6 encloses the remaining bristle tufts in a U-shaped arrangement, as illustrated in FIG. 2. There, the outer row 9 is U-shaped, while another row 10 of longer bristle tufts 6 completely surrounds the shorter bristle tufts arranged in three rows 11.

Advantageously, the bristle tufts 6, 8 have, in a manner known per se, an increasingly strong inclination away from the brush handle relative to the plate-shaped brush head 3. By changing the contact pressure exerted on the brush head 3 against the surface to be cleaned, it is possible to selectively use only the softer bristle tufts 6, for example to clean sensitive material or to use the shorter bristle tufts 8 with the desired intensity.

The shorter bristle tufts 8 in the inner region of the arrangement of bristle tufts also have the effect that a stronger wear of a washing-up brush that has previously occurred is avoided in this inner region.

A washing-up brush 1 according to the invention can additionally be provided on the back of its head with a U-shaped bristle coil 12 surrounding the brush head 3 in order to expand its possible uses. Such a washing-up brush 1 is also particularly suitable for cleaning the interior of hollow bodies.
