Description

The invention relates to a method for pouring deposits into a cylinder head with bores receiving cylinder head screws according to the preamble of claim 1.

From DE-B 12 94 095 a cylinder head is known in which inserts designed as sleeves are arranged to introduce the forces to be transmitted from the cylinder head bolts to the cylinder head. These sleeves protrude from the cylinder head cover side of the cylinder head and are fixed in the molded body during the casting process of the cylinder head. In this known cylinder head, the sleeves are finished before the casting process. They must therefore be positioned very precisely in the molded body. Since the sleeve bores and the cylinder head bores adjoining the sleeves on the cylinder head bottom side have different diameters, they must be filled with a precisely fitting mold core during the casting process.

Even with slight misalignment of the sleeves and cylinder head bores, the cylinder head is unusable, since reworking the bores, among other things. is not possible due to the small sleeve thickness. The known cylinder head must therefore be manufactured with a high level of manufacturing technology and casting technology.

From DE-C 940 075 a cylinder head is known which has inserts cast into the cylinder head to support the cylinder head screw heads. The inserts are intended to reduce the specific load on the cylinder head caused by the cylinder head bolts. Information on how the inserts are formed when casting the cylinder head and how the inserts are held in the necessary molded body when casting the cylinder head cannot be found in the document mentioned.

A 4,100,669 deals with a metal casting plastering machine and specifically describes how a pin is poured into a chain link of the plastering machine and subsequently pierced.

The invention has for its object to provide a method for pouring inlays in a cylinder head, wherein the inlays are held securely in the molded body and the holding device can be removed without problems.

According to the invention, this object is achieved by the characterizing features of the first claim. Characterized in that the insert consists of solid material and is provided with a holding device which extends in the direction of the bore to be subsequently inserted and is fixed in the molded body, a simple possibility of fixing the insert in the molded body is achieved. Furthermore, the diameter of the holding device is preferably selected to be smaller in the area encapsulated by the cylinder head than the bore to be drilled later in this area. This ensures that the holding device is completely drilled out during further machining of the cylinder head. In addition, such an insert encapsulated by the cylinder head is insensitive to small tolerance deviations with regard to its positioning, since the cylinder head screw bore, which is essential for the further usability of the cylinder head, is made after the casting of the cylinder head. The hole for the cylinder head screw is advantageously produced together with other machining operations on the cylinder head.

In order to introduce the force to be transmitted from a cylinder head screw to the cylinder head as evenly as possible into the cylinder head, the insert is designed as a disk and the holding device is attached centrally to the disk. As a result, even with a small eccentricity of the bore for the cylinder head screw to be made later, an even pressure distribution with respect to the transmission of force from the disk to the cylinder head is ensured.

According to a further embodiment of the invention, the holding device is made in one piece with the disc. Thus, the disc together with the holding device can e.g. be cast in one piece from gray cast iron. However, other fastening variants of the holding device on the pane can also be expedient; Depending on the choice of material for the washer and the holding device, a connection can be made by e.g. Welding, gluing, soldering and screwing possible.

In an advantageous embodiment, the holding device is designed as a cylindrical pin. This form of training will be chosen if the holding device extends coaxially along the bore to be made later for the cylinder head screw for fixing in the molded body.

According to a further embodiment of the invention, it is advantageous to design the holding device in the shape of a truncated cone, the tapered end of the holding device being fastened to the disk. This design will preferably be selected if the disc is arranged in the cylinder head near an opening such as an intake port, exhaust port or cooling space. In this case, the disc is fastened in the mandrel with the frustoconical holding device. The diameter of the holding device in the section cast by the cylinder head is expediently smaller than the later bore diameter. It may also be expedient to combine the cylindrical design of the holding device with the frustoconical design, for example, as described above, to form the holding device along the bore to be made later for the cylinder head screw as a cylindrical pin and in the area in which the holding device in the Shaped body is attached to end in a truncated cone. A particularly secure attachment in the molded body is thereby achieved.

Further features of the invention result from the description and the drawing, in which exemplary embodiments of the invention are shown and are described in more detail below.

  • Fig. 2 shows a section through the cylinder head after and 3 casting process, different versions of the holding devices are shown.

In a cylinder head 1, which is preferably cast from light metal, disks 2 and 3 are arranged, which uniformly introduce the tensile forces to be transmitted by the cylinder head screws 4 into the cylinder head 1. The disks 2 and 3 are provided on their sides facing away from the cylinder head screw heads 4a with a larger diameter 2a and 3a than on the sides 2b and 3b facing the cylinder head screw heads 4a. The disks 2 and 3 are provided on the sides 2b and 3b with machined recesses 7 and 8 at right angles to the bores 5 and 6. The recesses 7 and 8, which can be made together with the bores 5 and 6 through the openings 9 and 10, ensure distortion-free power transmission from the cylinder head screws 4 to the washers 2 and 3 and thus to the cylinder head 1. The in the area of a gas exchange channel 11 arranged opening 10 is closed by a cover 12 after installation of the cylinder head screws 4. The opening 9 can remain open in the air-cooled cylinder head shown here. If the space 13 which extends between the opening 9 and the disc 2 is to be used as a coolant-flowed space 13 in a liquid-cooled cylinder head 1, the opening 9 is closed in a manner analogous to the opening 10 with a stopper.
