Definitions

  • curbs The installation of curbs is a long and tiring operation. Many devices have already been created for this purpose, and in this regard, hand tools perform only part of the operation while large machines designed specially for this purpose are too expensive to be within the reach of all businesses.
  • the object of the present invention is to reduce, and even completely eliminate, the fatigue resulting from this type of work by creating a device which can be completely or partially removably adapted on rolling vehicles, such as public works vehicles among others, and which picks up the pallet, transports it along the laying path, allows the edges to be taken one by one and placed end to end with the required precision and speed.
  • This objective is obtained by associating with different carriers of the forks, an elevation and distribution device, a gripping device and the controls preferably located on this gripping device.
  • the mobile device for placing borders, self-blocking pavers or the like comprising a carrier, an object support member, a device for lifting at least one of these objects at a time. of the support member, a horizontal directional distribution device and to which said lifting device is connected, a gripping member connected to said lifting device for gripping at least one object at a time with a view to lifting it from the support and for its installation, is characterized in that the means for controlling the operations of the aforementioned organs of the apparatus are grouped together and located on a predetermined part of the gripping member, so that a single operator can perform all of the operations from operating the device to placing the various objects.
  • Fig. 1 is a general view of the device according to the invention.
  • Fig. 2 shows a type of attachment of the bracket of FIG. 1.
  • Fig. 3 shows a particular method of attachment.

  • Fig. 5 schematically shows the operating principle.
  • Fig. 6 shows a detail of the locking system.
  • Fig. 7 shows a carriage specially designed for the apparatus of the invention.
  • Fig. 8 shows from the front the carriage of FIG. 7.
  • Fig. 9 shows a variant of the carriage of FIG. 7.
  • Fig. 10 shows a bracket for the carriage of FIG. 9.
  • Fig. 11 shows a bend in a tube of the stem of FIG. 10.
  • Fig. 12 shows the advantageous positions of the distributor arm of FIG. 9.
  • Fig. 13 shows an example of leveling.
  • Fig. 14 shows a wheel of the carriage of FIG. 9.
  • the gripping device or clamp 4 can be chosen in various techniques: one can for example provide a mechanical clamp advantageously tightening the edge at the ends.
  • One of the clamping arms will be calculated according to the thickness of the joint, which will give the regularity of these joints by abutment when the edge is put in place.
  • the gripping device can equally well be automatic, for example by opening and closing control by jacks, or by using a suction cup system.
  • a vibrator can be attached to the clamp 4 and vibrate the edge at the time of installation.
  • the lifting system of the clamp 4 can advantageously be a small electric winch 5 mounted at the end of the distributor arm 3.
  • the control 7 is advantageously placed on the clamp 4 which allows the operator to properly direct the clamp 4 with his hands while he controls with his thumb the descent switch for laying or climbing to pick up the edge.
  • elevation systems may include known hydraulic or electrical means.
  • the distribution system will be a bracket 1 advantageously fixed to the fork 24 of the carrier.
  • This bracket can be a simple vertical mast surmounted by a pivoting horizontal arrow.
  • this arrow will preferably have two articulated arms 2, 3 in the manner of a human arm to obtain better scanning.
  • the joints 22 and 23 of the arrow, thus formed of the arms articulated 2, 3 can be made alternately free, braked or blocked to allow the required horizontal safety of movements.
  • the device controls will preferably be placed on clamp 4.
  • the manipulating boom can also be actuated, in the horizontal plane, automatically by means of jacks or either hydraulic or electric motors.
  • the axis of the motors will be the axis of rotation of the boom.
  • the controls may preferably be located on the clamp 4.
  • the stem 1 On vehicles already fitted with original forks, the stem 1 will preferably be fixed removably on the cross members of the fork.
  • Fig. 2 shows an example of fixing means.
  • an advantageous way is to provide the side opposite the forks to be used, and behind the horizontal bars, with a universal fixing device making it possible to receive an intermediate fixing placed between the carrier and the apparatus.
  • the mast of the stem 1 may be telescopic, the telescoping possibly being there only for mechanical height adjustments, or else it will be part of the elevation system. Indeed, it suffices to provide, on one of the stem tubes, a seal and a plunger, the latter resting on the bottom of the other tube, and to provide hydraulic injection means to obtain a jack. simple effect for raising the telescopic mast, while compressing a spring which will control its descent.
  • the carriers of the installation device can be very diverse and will give rise to specific arrangements.
  • the carrier is a motorized vehicle, it will advantageously provide the electric or hydraulic force.
  • An advantageous way is to create an interchangeable intermediate connection part which will have, on the side of the deck, the standard fixing and, on the side of the shovel, the specific fixing for the machine.
  • the same working system can be used for other materials to be laid than curbs, and for example for self-blocking pavers previously arranged in the order of laying or not on a pallet.
  • a gripping device made up of the number of suitable pliers will be able to place up to 1 m2 per operation.
  • the operator guiding the gripping device thanks to the commands which are directly linked to it, will be able to execute the positioning with the desired precision.
  • This seat can be fixed either on the device itself, for example on the horizontal apron, or on the carrier (fig. 8).
  • Another particularly safe, simple and mechanical device consists in providing the gripping pliers with two guide handles (see below in connection with FIG. 5), each equipped with a handle. for applying the type of bicycle or motorcycle handbrakes.
  • the axes of rotation of the two articulated arms will then be provided with the equivalent of toothed pinions and a ratchet, kept permanently engaged under the effect of a spring.
  • the interlocking pawl will be connected to the clamping handle by a sheathed cable.
  • the drum braking systems or known and used discs under the same conditions.
  • the assembly can only be operated under the effect of handles, acting on the cable itself unlocking the pinion. As soon as the operator releases the handle (s), the assembly remains absolutely secure, and instantly. All these controls can be combined into a single removable support, hence the interchangeability of the clamps.
  • Another problem is to be solved, in particular that only small loads can be transported by certain chargers.
  • This case is advantageously solved by fixing for example two wheels at the ends of the deck. These wheels will go up or down depending on whether you load or transport. These movements can be produced mechanically, hydraulically or electrically. The load will then weigh directly on these wheels and will no longer be carried by the machine itself but pushed or pulled, and the machine will serve as a counterweight. At the same time, these side wheels will serve as stabilizers when maneuvering the distribution.
  • FIG. 1 shows a bracket 1 removably attached to the fork 24 by fixings 9.
  • the bracket 1 is surmounted by arms 2 and 3 articulated at 22 and 23.
  • a small winch 5 is electrically connected to a battery 16 and retains the clamp 4 supporting the controls 6 and 8 of the articulations and the control 7 of the winch 5.
  • the lifting forks 24 are connected in a manner known per se to the horizontal crosspieces 10 of a carrier which are themselves connected to two vertical uprights 11 supporting means fixing, in particular holes as shown, but which could be any.
  • These connecting means serve to fix a plate or equivalent 13, one side of which supports, as indicated above, the standard attachment 12 and the other of which supports the attachments 14 and 15 specific to the carrier which can be a hydraulic loader as well as a hydraulic shovel.
  • Fig. 2 shows a type of fixing 9 of the bracket 1 which can thus be positioned in height by means of a clamping member 19 and which is fixed to the crosspieces 17 of the fork 24 by clamping members 19 '.
  • Fig. 3 shows an attachment method in which the receiving part 18 is attached to a bucket 20 of a loader and is housed in the standard attachments 12.
  • a cross member 17 will serve as a stop for the teeth 21.
  • Fig. 4 schematically shows the possibilities of distributing the articulated arms 2, 3 which can place up to four edges without moving the carrier.
  • Fig. 5 schematically shows the operating principle of the device according to the invention.
  • the clamp 4 is removably attached 29 to a kind of handlebar 36 supporting, on the one hand, a control handle 25 controlling the locking system 30 and 31 of the joint 23 located on the arm 3 (see fig.1 ) by means of a sheathed cable 26 and, on the other hand, a handle 27 controlling under the same conditions the articulation 22 of the arm 2.
  • the handlebar 36 supports the control 28a of the winch 5 and the control 28b controlling the forward and backward movement of the carrier.
  • Fig. 6 shows the detail of the above locking system in which 33 is the traction cable, 32 are perforated guides, 30 is an axis provided with a shoulder 36 and terminated in a point 35 which engages on a pinion 31 fixed on the axis of rotation.
  • a spring 34 will hold permanent locking.
  • Fig. 7 shows a type of carriage specially designed for this purpose, and which is capable of instantly receiving the fork-stem assembly.
  • two electric motors can drive the two front wheels 37 and 38, the blocking of one or the other wheel providing total maneuverability.
  • the driver's seat can also be reduced on the installation side.
  • All the various functions of the device can be either hydraulic or electric and can be provided by a generator or by batteries.
  • This same seat can even be pivoted on the horizontal plane, either freely or motorized which will always give a good position relative to the work to be performed.
  • Fig. 8 shows from the front the machine of FIG. 7 in which 41 is an axial motor, 42 are freewheels and 43 is the fork lifting system.
  • Another advantageous way of carrying out the invention is to provide that the device formed by the fork and the stem becomes part of the carrier.
  • rolling means will be arranged, such as two wheels integral with the assembly, while on the opposite side, that is to say at the fork tip end, means for guiding the ground will be fitted: casters, skis, etc.
  • Such an assembly is capable of being brought empty under a pallet, the ends of the fork sticking out on the other side.
  • a rolling means such as wheels or caterpillars, will be removably attached to the tip of the forks. Just raise the forks appropriately and the whole assembly will be able to be moved, towed if you want, or autonomous by the use of a motorization.
  • the two floating free wheels can be joined together, so as to become self-propelled and steered, while the other two wheels will be free.
  • the bracket 1 may be changed in position and in particular may also be placed on one of the arms of the carrying carriage, preferably near one of the wheels of the arm, which will cause the stem to work above the opposite wheel.
  • the particular position of the distributing bracket on the advanced part of the machine gives the shortest jib for laying the edge laterally very close to the machine and for placing the blocks in front. Given the short arms, it is possible, if desired, to remove the mechanically controlled rotation of fig. 5 and replace it with a free rotation possibly provided with a brake.
  • Such a particular position of the distributing crane can be obtained on a traditional pallet conveyor by using a third fork 56 at the end of which the crane will have been mounted (see fig. 10).
  • This third fork will be hung on the crosspieces parallel to the other two forks. It will be enough to bring the hydraulics of the machine and the electricity of the battery for the control of the solenoid valves.
  • the improvement of the installation will be obtained by using guide marks to position the machine at each translation.
  • a mechanical marker 52 (fig. 9) designating the end of the previous border will warn the operator that he has traveled the desired distance.
  • More complicated systems, by photocell, can even automatically stop the machine at the chosen point or simultaneously control the folding of the arm, etc.
  • the operator's task will also be facilitated if a machine position corresponds to the positions of the bracket placing it exactly in the laying direction. For example, it is possible to use a 90 ° stop putting it in the laying direction. It only remains to control the extension of the arm to the guide string and installation by the vertical descent.
  • one of the simple and inexpensive means is to arrange a compass 87 and a mark 88 between the direction 86 and the machine here indicated at 51.
  • the desired direction is obtained which is maintained by appropriate blocking of the direction 86.
  • the driver only has to order the start up to the next mark without worrying about the direction.
  • the setting of the laying concrete has so far been done manually by a man. This operation could also be carried out by the machine with sufficient precision.
  • an arm 62 (FIG. 12) fixed to the lifting system 61 of the fork.
  • the arm 62 would arrive above the mortar and would be provided for example with an oscillating device 64 such as a vibrating rake comb and a leveling blade.
  • oscillating device 64 such as a vibrating rake comb and a leveling blade.
  • the device By its construction the device will already be high ground clearance. In the case of uneven ground (which is generally the case for the installation of curb) it may be advantageous or necessary to correct the levels around the longitudinal axis or the transverse axis.
  • the wheels can therefore be adjustable in height.
  • fig. 9 shows the machine 51 positioned by its guide mark 52 at the end of an already installed border 55, and shows in dotted lines the position of the arrow 53 directed at 90 ° to position itself with the edge 54 to be placed directly above the laying point.
  • the drawbar 86 is adjusted with respect to directional marks and any blocking device makes it possible to maintain this direction of the machine.
  • the boom is composed of two tubes 59 and 60 made telescopic by a jack 58. It suffices to connect the jack 58 to the carrying machine, hydraulically and or electrically, to command and control said arrow.
  • Fig. 11 shows a section through the tube 60 of FIG. 10 in which is hidden the vertical elevation system obtained by a hydraulic cylinder 71 (or electric) comprising a return pulley 73 for a cable 74 fixed at 72 on the tube 60.
  • the cable 74 exits by a pulley 75, the use is similar to that of the electric winch 5 of fig. 1 and 5.
  • Fig. 12 shows the advantageous positions of the distributing jib: in 66 for the installation of curbs placed laterally, and in 67 and 68 for the installation of pavers in front installation.
  • the arm 62 is fixed to the lifting part 61 controlled by a jack 69.
  • the arm 62 supports at its end the oscillating device 64 for leveling concrete which is held on silent blocks 63.
  • the oscillating device 64 is driven by a vibrator 65 or any other means.
  • Fig. 13 shows an example of a leveling operation, and shows the arm 62, the silent-blocks 63, the oscillating device 64 in the form of a rake with teeth 79 and a system of visual guidance on the string provided by a mirror 80.
  • Fig. 14 shows a wheel which can be adjusted in height mechanically by a pin passing through the holes 89 and 90 formed in telescopic tubes 81, 82, the tube 81 being fixed on the chassis 83 of the carrier.
  • a hydraulic cylinder placed between the two tubes 81, 82, injected at 84 and controlled at 85, the height adjustment movement will be instantaneous.
  • Transport from one site to another can be easily resolved by providing the machine with two retractable or removable transport wheels during work and with a drawbar that may be removable. Once the machine is raised on at least two wheels and the drawbar attached, it will be purely and simply a remporque like any other.
