Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a stackable pallet, in particular for heavy loads, with a rectangular upper frame in plan, four corner posts and a pallet base, which also has two lower stiffening struts connecting two corner posts in pairs.
  • a stackable pallet in particular for heavy loads
  • a rectangular upper frame in plan four corner posts and a pallet base, which also has two lower stiffening struts connecting two corner posts in pairs.
  • Such a range is known for example from DE-OS 33 42 345.
  • a known pallet of this type can be used on the one hand as a shelf module by placing several pallets on top of one another for this purpose.
  • the stacking into one another is made possible, among other things, by the fact that the two rear corner posts are narrower than the two front corner posts, so that the rear corner posts have space between the side struts ces upper frame of another pallet when stacked.
  • the known Pallet struts proposed that divide the surfaces of the side parts in the vertical position and can be folded into a horizontal position. Folding down is absolutely necessary, otherwise the pallets would no longer be stackable.
  • the known pallets Before the known pallets can be stacked one inside the other, it is necessary to loosen the locking pins that lock the struts in the vertical position and to fold the struts into the horizontal position, which is time-consuming when stacking a large number of pallets.
  • the known range is also completely open towards the front, so that the load is not prevented from falling out.
  • a further pallet has become known from French patent specification 1475070, of which several pallets can be placed on top of one another and several pallets can be stacked compactly one inside the other.
  • the type of pallet proposed there only has walls on the two transverse sides to limit the storage space and is open on the other sides. There is therefore a risk of the cargo falling or rolling out even with this known pallet.
  • the object of the present invention is to provide a type of pallet that is both stacked and compact allows several pallets to be stacked one inside the other without having to make changes to the pallet such as disassembly of individual parts, and in which the storage space for the load is largely limited on all sides in such a way that even smaller loads are prevented from falling out.
  • a pallet according to the invention is suitable for storing and transporting any goods.
  • the pallet is intended to be used to transport heavy loads, for example frozen meat or other frozen foods.
  • the goods in question are usually transported in trucks by means of the pallets.
  • the pallets have a standardized euro size of 120 cm in length and 100 cm in width, so that transportation by truck of any nationality is possible.
  • several pallets can be placed on top of one another in such a way that the corner posts of the upper pallet rest on the corner posts of the lower pallet, so that the weight forces are mainly introduced into the corner posts.
  • Connecting elements are provided on the pallets, by means of which they are fixed in this stacking position.
  • the load-bearing capacity of the pallets has to meet high demands, which the pallet according to the invention meets with its construction in stainless steel. If, for example, a pallet with a weight of 200 kg is loaded, the lower pallet with three pallets stacked one on top of the other must carry a weight of more than 600 kg. It also happens when handling the loaded pallets, for example when loading and unloading a truck with the pallets using a forklift, that the pallets are not handled very carefully, for example the pallets in a desired position by the forklift from a few cm in height be dropped.
  • the pallet has an all-round upper horizontal frame made up of two longitudinal frame tubes and two transverse frame tubes. However, only the longitudinal frame tubes rest on two corner posts, while the transverse frame tubes lie outside the rectangle formed by the corner posts. This enables the corner posts of the next higher pallet to fit between the frame cross tubes of the lower pallet when the pallets are compactly stacked one inside the other.
  • the outer distance between two corner posts is a small tolerance less than the distance between the opposite inner edges of the frame cross tubes, so that the pallets can be effortlessly inserted into one another without the risk of jamming.
  • the trough-like receiving body for the cargo has an approximately U-shaped cross section and is also dimensioned such that its maximum extent in the longitudinal direction of the pallet is on each side by a tolerance measure than the distance between the inner edges of the frame menquer tubes so that it fits between them.
  • the receptacle body consists of two or more parallel U-shaped tubes which are arranged at a distance from one another. If smaller loads are to be picked up, a larger number of these U-tubes are arranged closer together. It is essential that the U-tubes are only connected to the frame cross tubes at the top, so that this connection does not hinder the interlocking of the pallets.
  • the receptacle body consists of a one-piece sheet metal tub with side walls which are slightly conical towards the tub bottom.
  • the taper is required so that when the pallets are stacked one inside the other, the trays easily fit into one another.
  • the sheet metal tray in turn only has a connection at the top to the frame cross tubes. It is also essential in both embodiments that on the long sides between the receiving body and the longitudinal frame tubes there is sufficient space which, when the pallets are stacked one inside the other, receives the corner posts of the upper pallets and is therefore preferably a multiple of the width of a corner post. The width of this space determines how many pallets can be stacked compactly.
  • U-shaped tubular brackets are placed in reverse on the cross frame tubes, so that there is a rectangular space between these tubular brackets and the underlying cross frame tubes.
  • This rectangular opening facilitates the removal of a pallet from a stack of several pallets stacked one inside the other with the forklift, which can reach into this opening. If several pallets stacked one inside the other are to be transported together, the forklift can reach under a lower stiffening strut of the bottom pallet, which connects two corner posts of a pallet in pairs, and lift the pallets together; in this case, the pallets are moved from the long side.
  • the pallet consists of an upper rectangular frame which is closed on all sides and consists of two longitudinal frame tubes 2a, 2b and two transverse frame tubes 6a, 6b.

Description

The present invention relates to a stackable pallet, in particular for heavy loads, with a rectangular upper frame in plan, four corner posts and a pallet base, which also has two lower stiffening struts connecting two corner posts in pairs. Such a range is known for example from DE-OS 33 42 345. A known pallet of this type can be used on the one hand as a shelf module by placing several pallets on top of one another for this purpose. On the other hand, it is also possible to stack several pallets compactly one inside the other for better use of production and storage rooms when not in use. The stacking into one another is made possible, among other things, by the fact that the two rear corner posts are narrower than the two front corner posts, so that the rear corner posts have space between the side struts ces upper frame of another pallet when stacked. In order to avoid falling out of smaller loads on the side parts of the pallet due to the open frame structure, the known Pallet struts proposed that divide the surfaces of the side parts in the vertical position and can be folded into a horizontal position. Folding down is absolutely necessary, otherwise the pallets would no longer be stackable. Before the known pallets can be stacked one inside the other, it is necessary to loosen the locking pins that lock the struts in the vertical position and to fold the struts into the horizontal position, which is time-consuming when stacking a large number of pallets. The known range is also completely open towards the front, so that the load is not prevented from falling out.

A further pallet has become known from French patent specification 1475070, of which several pallets can be placed on top of one another and several pallets can be stacked compactly one inside the other. However, the type of pallet proposed there only has walls on the two transverse sides to limit the storage space and is open on the other sides. There is therefore a risk of the cargo falling or rolling out even with this known pallet.

In contrast, the object of the present invention is to provide a type of pallet that is both stacked and compact allows several pallets to be stacked one inside the other without having to make changes to the pallet such as disassembly of individual parts, and in which the storage space for the load is largely limited on all sides in such a way that even smaller loads are prevented from falling out.

The solution to this problem is provided by a palette with the features of claim 1. Claim 1 expresses a more general solution concept, whereas claims 2 and 8 in particular contain more specific embodiments of the problem solution. The other subclaims have further advantageous refinements of the palette according to the invention.

In principle, a pallet according to the invention is suitable for storing and transporting any goods. In particular, the pallet is intended to be used to transport heavy loads, for example frozen meat or other frozen foods. In this case it is advisable to make the pallet from stainless steel. The goods in question are usually transported in trucks by means of the pallets. It is advantageous if the pallets have a standardized euro size of 120 cm in length and 100 cm in width, so that transportation by truck of any nationality is possible. When transported in a truck, several pallets can be placed on top of one another in such a way that the corner posts of the upper pallet rest on the corner posts of the lower pallet, so that the weight forces are mainly introduced into the corner posts. Connecting elements are provided on the pallets, by means of which they are fixed in this stacking position. When transporting frozen meat, for example, due to the high loading weights, the load-bearing capacity of the pallets has to meet high demands, which the pallet according to the invention meets with its construction in stainless steel. This results in minimum requirements for the construction of the pallet frame and the receiving body for the cargo with regard to the number of pipes to be used and the required material thickness. On the other hand, because of the high material costs for the stainless steel version, a range of maximum resilience can be created using as little material as possible. The pallet constructed according to the invention also takes this aspect into account.

Taking the aforementioned aspects into account, the task mentioned at the beginning is solved as follows. The pallet has an all-round upper horizontal frame made up of two longitudinal frame tubes and two transverse frame tubes. The outer distance between two corner posts is a small tolerance less than the distance between the opposite inner edges of the frame cross tubes, so that the pallets can be effortlessly inserted into one another without the risk of jamming.

The trough-like receiving body for the cargo has an approximately U-shaped cross section and is also dimensioned such that its maximum extent in the longitudinal direction of the pallet is on each side by a tolerance measure than the distance between the inner edges of the frame menquer tubes so that it fits between them. Two specific embodiments are proposed as examples for the receiving body. In one, the receptacle body consists of two or more parallel U-shaped tubes which are arranged at a distance from one another. If smaller loads are to be picked up, a larger number of these U-tubes are arranged closer together. It is essential that the U-tubes are only connected to the frame cross tubes at the top, so that this connection does not hinder the interlocking of the pallets. In the other embodiment, the receptacle body consists of a one-piece sheet metal tub with side walls which are slightly conical towards the tub bottom. The taper is required so that when the pallets are stacked one inside the other, the trays easily fit into one another. The sheet metal tray in turn only has a connection at the top to the frame cross tubes.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, U-shaped tubular brackets are placed in reverse on the cross frame tubes, so that there is a rectangular space between these tubular brackets and the underlying cross frame tubes. This rectangular opening facilitates the removal of a pallet from a stack of several pallets stacked one inside the other with the forklift, which can reach into this opening. If several pallets stacked one inside the other are to be transported together, the forklift can reach under a lower stiffening strut of the bottom pallet, which connects two corner posts of a pallet in pairs, and lift the pallets together; in this case, the pallets are moved from the long side. Starting and removing a single pallet or lifting several pallets can also be done from the transverse side, with the forklift reaching into the corresponding rectangular opening above the frame cross tube. It is therefore irrelevant whether the pallet stacks are arranged one behind the other during storage in the longitudinal direction or in the transverse direction.

In the following, the pallets according to the invention are described in more detail in exemplary embodiments with reference to the drawings.

First, an embodiment of the pallet according to the invention is described with reference to FIGS. 1-7. The pallet consists of an upper rectangular frame which is closed on all sides and consists of two longitudinal frame tubes 2a, 2b and two transverse frame tubes 6a, 6b. This upper rectangular frame preferably has the Euro standard dimensions 120cm x 100 cm, but can also have any other dimensions and, for example, be square. The longitudinal frame tubes rest on the corner posts 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d of the pallet, which, like the frame tubes, preferably have a rectangular cross section. The four corner posts are arranged in such a way that they form a rectangle in plan view, the length dimension of which - measured from the outside edge to the outside edge of two corner posts 1a, 1b - is denoted by X. The frame cross tubes 6a, 6b lie outside this rectangle spanned by the corner posts. The distance between the inner edges of the frame cross tubes 6a, 6b, which is denoted by Y, must be larger on each side by the tolerance dimension Δ 1 , that is to say a total of 2 xΔ 1, than the length dimension X, so that when placed one inside the other, the corner posts of the next higher pallet between the frame cross tubes have enough space underneath and tilting when stacking one another is prevented by means of a forklift.

In the embodiment of the pallet shown in FIGS. 1-7, the receptacle body for the load t is formed from a plurality of parallel tubes 7 which are U-shaped in side view, the horizontal sections 8 of which form the pallet base and the vertical sections 7a, 7b at the upper leg ends Have spacers 9 which cross with the frame tubes 6a, 6b are connected. In addition, the receiving body has no connection to the pallet frame or to the corner posts, since these would be a hindrance when the pallets are stacked compactly into one another. The outer distance of the vertical legs 7a, 7b, which is designated Z, is due to the spacers 9 at the upper leg ends on each side by a tolerance dimension Δ 2 less than the distance Y of the inner edges of the frame cross tubes 6a, 6b, so that the receiving body of the upper pallet has enough space when stacked compactly between the frame cross tubes of the lower pallet. Between the outermost U-tube 7 of the receiving body and the respective longitudinal frame tube 2a, 2b of the pallet, an intermediate space 41 must remain on both sides, the width of which corresponds to the tube width of a corner post 1a or better a multiple of the width of a corner post, since in the case of compact stacking the pallets of the corner posts of one or more upper pallets is received by this space 41 of the lower pallets.

It can be seen from FIG. 6 how the pallets are nested into one another when compactly stacked when not in use. This view shows three pallets stacked one inside the other from the short side. The middle range is in advantageously offset from the lower pallet to the right by about a corner post width. The upper pallet is offset from the lower one by a corner post width to the left. The right-hand corner posts of the pallet are indicated in F ig.6 11a, 21a, 31a. The vertical limbs of the left outer U-tubes of the receiving body of the pallets are designated 17a, 27a, 37a in the illustration. In the example, the space between the corner posts and the outer U-tube is so wide that three pallets can be stacked one inside the other. The next higher pallet must be placed on the upper pallet when stacking. However, it is possible to stack more than three pallets one inside the other if the space between the corner post and the outer U-tube is chosen wider, which is easily possible, for example, for the transport of larger loads. The width of the corner posts and U-tubes can also be reduced if goods of lower weight are to be transported with the pallet.

As can be seen from FIG. 2, 1a, 1b and 1c, 1d are each connected in pairs by lower stiffening struts 3a, 3b parallel to the upper frame longitudinal tubes, which prevent the corner posts from spreading apart when the pallet is loaded. At the . Cross side of the pallet, between the corner posts 1b, 1c on the other hand, no connection is provided, as this would be a hindrance when stacking the pallets one inside the other. Conversely, U-shaped pipe brackets 6c, 6d are placed on the frame cross tubes 6a, 6b, which together with the frame cross tubes form a rectangular frame with a rectangular opening 6e. The forklift can reach into this rectangular opening 6e when the pallet is to be lifted. When lifting the pallet from the long side, the forklift can reach under the stiffening strut 3a. By reaching into the rectangular opening 6e (Fig. 6), the forklift can also lift a single pallet out of a stack. By reaching under the longitudinal frame tube 12a of the lower pallet (FIG. 5), the forklift can lift several pallets that are stacked one inside the other at the same time. FIG. 5 shows a view of three pallets stacked one inside the other from the long side of the pallet. 13a, 23a, 33a denote the lower stiffening struts, 12a, 22a, 32a the longitudinal frame tubes and 31a, 31b the two front corner posts of the uppermost pallet, 11a, 11b the two front corner posts of the lower pallet. The difference in height 39 between two pallets results from the fact that the frame transverse tubes 6a, 6b of an upper pallet, when stacked one inside the other, rest on the tube brackets 6c, 6d of the underlying pallet 7 shows two pallets placed one on top of the other in a view from the long side of the pallet. From this it can be seen that the corner posts 21a, 21b of the upper pallet stand on the corner posts 11a, 11b of the lower pallet. So that the pallets stand securely on one another, cylindrical cams 4 are arranged on the corner posts and correspondingly large cylindrical recesses 5 are provided in the feet of the corner posts, which receive the cams of the respective lower pallet. In order to stabilize the corner connection between corner posts 21a, 21b and frame longitudinal tube 22a, angle plates 3B are provided there.

In order to enable a problem-free stacking of several pallets into one another, the side walls 42 of the sheet metal trough 40 run slightly conically towards the pallet base 43. Since the largest dimension of the receiving body in the longitudinal direction of the pallet Z must in turn be less than the distance between the inner edges of the frame cross tubes Y, horizontal spacers 44 are provided which connect the side walls 42 of the sheet metal trough to the frame cross tubes 6a, 6b. The number of pallets that are inside each other can be stacked, again determined by the width of the intermediate space 41 between the outer edge 45 of the sheet metal trough and the frame longitudinal tube and also by the tube width of the corner post.

As indicated in FIG. 1, further vertical intermediate struts 14 can be provided on the long sides of the pallet for connecting the longitudinal frame tubes 2a, 2b to the lower stiffening struts 3a, 3b. The compact stacking of the pallets is not hindered by these intermediate struts 14. The area between the longitudinal frame tube 2a and the stiffening strut 3a on the long side of the pallet can even be completely closed, for example by a sheet metal, which has the advantage that the load is prevented from falling out on the long sides of the pallet.
