Abstract

A mat comprising an elastic material which serves as an underlay for a ballast bed of crushed stone, metallic particles, or the like is provided with a plurality of projections on its underside and with an upper layer of a material different from the elastic material. This upper layer on the upper side of the mat advantageously comprises a strong fabric. Particularly the upper layer may comprise a multilayered fabric with inlay layers of elastic material positioned between the individual layers of the multilayer fabric as well as a coverying layer of a softer material on the upper surface of the upper layer of the mat. The fabric of the upper layer of the mat advantageously comprises a water and rot resistant plastic material, such as a polyamide.

Description

The invention relates to a mat for resilient bed / ballast bed made of elastic material, which is provided on its underside with projections and the top of which has a layer which is made of a different material than the mat. Such mats are used to elastically support the ballast bedding and the tracks laid thereon against the ground and against tunnel or trough walls in order to insulate the structure-borne noise.

In a known mat of the aforementioned type, a layer of a plastically deformable material is provided on the top (DE-GM 80 13 779), for. B. a bitumen layer. The gravel stones can be pressed into this layer to a certain extent, so that a largely non-slip deposit is achieved. The main disadvantage of this known mat is that the sharp-edged ballast also penetrates into the mat itself in a short time, as a result of which the mat is destroyed in such a way that it is finally only present in granular form. A granulated mat is no longer able to insulate structure-borne noise.

Another known mat has a sheet on the top (DE-OS 31 21 946), which serves to prevent the ballast from penetrating into the mat. This mat ensures a particularly high structure-borne sound insulation; but it is not very flexible, so that it can only be brought to the place of use in relatively short lengths.

The invention has for its object to design the mat of the type mentioned so that it ensures sufficient structure-borne sound insulation, that it prevents the penetration of ballast stones and that it can be wound up, so that it can be brought to close locations in great lengths. This object is achieved by the invention specified in claim 1.

The fabric provided on the top of the mat also allows the degree of exaggeration of the resonance frequency to be adjusted, specifically by the type of fabric and its arrangement in the mat. As a result, the structure-borne noise can be insulated through the mat in accordance with the respective requirements.

Advantageous embodiments of the invention are described in the subclaims.

  • Fig. 1 einen Ausschnitt aus einer Matte im Querschnitt;
  • Fig. 2 und Fig. 3 jeweils eine Nahtstelle zwischen zwei Mattenabschnitten,in Vorderansicht;
  • Fig. 4 ein Diagramm.
The invention is explained in more detail with reference to the drawing. Show it:
  • Figure 1 shows a section of a mat in cross section.
  • 2 and 3 each show a seam between two mat sections, in front view;
  • Fi g. 4 is a diagram.

The mat 1 shown in FIG. 1 is provided on its upper side with a two-layer fabric 2, an insert 3 made of elastic material being provided between the individual layers of the fabric 2. Above the two-layer fabric 2 is a cover plate 4, the thickness d of which is approximately half the thickness D of the insert 3.

The mat 1 is provided on its underside 2 with projections 5 (Fig. 2 and 3). A profile bar 6 (FIG. 2) or an elastic band 7 (FIG. 3) is arranged under the interface of the mat sections 1.1 and 1.2. For clarification, the profile bar 6 and the elastic band 7 are shown in cross section.

It can be seen from the diagram shown in FIG. 4 that the increase in the resonance frequency can be predetermined by the choice of different tissues and the spacing of the tissue layers. For example, curve I shows the frequency curve for a mat with a fabric of high stiffness, for example a stem fabric. The resonance frequency is very high. The resonance frequency is even higher in curve II, which relates to a mat with a fabric of low tensile strength; this is a single-layer fabric EP 200. Curve III relates to a mat with a two-layer fabric EP 200, the two fabric layers being directly adjacent to one another. Curve IV relates to a mat with a steel wire mesh of high tensile strength (approx. 600 kp / mm 2 ).
