Abstract

4,5-Difluorophthaloyl fluoride, a novel compound of use as an intermediate in the preparation of fluorine-containing aromatic compounds, is prepared by reacting 4,5-dichlo­ rophthalic anhydride with anhydrous potassium fluoride.
