Abstract

This reusable bottle stopper is made with a material of suitable flexibility, and consists of a coupling (1) having inside a frustoconical shape (2), the wider base being turned downwards at approximately a third of its height and having from this point a cylindrical shape (3). The diameter (4) is then reduced (4) delimiting a thick outlet mouth (5), while the part above the base (2) has vertical slots (10), or else only a slot (11) , going from the lower end to the upper end. The assembly may also include a vertical notch (13) separating the part delimited between the notch (12) and the upper part of the plug.

Description

Descriptive Report of the Patent for the "RE-USABLE LID FOR ' BOTTLES"-
Whenever we open a bottle and don't want to consume all the liquid inside it, we have to face the problem of how to cover the bottle again, so that it is kept well closed and the liquid it contains is prevented from spoiling.
The conventional articles used to substitute the ' lids or corks for bottles that are available don't provide ' the necessary closing. Thus, the results we have when we use them are unsatisfactory and besides that, they are worn out easily when frequently used.
The present Invention meets all the characteristics that are required for the protection and preservation of the liquids that are kept in 'a bottle previously opened. It a- dapts to any shape the neck of a bottle may have and can have any kind of utilization because of its flexible shape.
For you to have a better idea of this Invention we enclosed some drawings that are presented as follows: Picture 1 is an exploded lateral view and shows all the external de- tails of each component of the lid; picture 2 illustrates ' another lateral view, however it is shown in a transverse cut and shows all the internal details of each component the ofin¬ vention; pictures 3, 4 and 5 refer only to the neck and show small constructive variations of its rips, which are respon- sible for its elasticity when it is introduced in the neck of the bottle. Finally, picture 6 presents a lateral view of a cut lid adapted to the neck of the bottle.
This Patent refers to the invention of a "RE-USA¬ BLE LID FOR BOTTLES", manufactured with a material of conven- ient flexibility and made up of a tubular neck or coupling (1) , adaptable to the neck of bottles, which has a frustum ' shape inside (2) with its larger base turned downward proximately one third of its height, and from this point on it continues in a cylindrical shape (3) with a diameter equaltothe smaller diameter of the base, or in a slightly conical shape ' with the conicalness essentially smaller than the conicalness' of the base (2) , and from this point on there is a slight re¬ duction of the diameter (4) delimitating a thick outlet mouth (5) . Externally the base (2) presents anti-sliding elements ' (6) and, also externally, in the part- immediately above there' is a screw thread as far as half of its height, developing the upper part (8) in a cylindrical shape whose upper extremity *
(9) is round. The part above the base (2) has vertical rips '
(10) or just one rip (11) , surpassing, from the lower to the upper extremity.
In another constructive version, a partial, horizon¬ tal cut (12) is expected in the upper part (3) , immediately ' below the thickened part (5) , and it is also planned, on the ' whole, a vertical cut (13) which separates in two, the part between the cut (12) and the upper part of the article. he ' rips (10) , (11) , (12) and (13) provide to the neck (1) enough elasticity so that when it is introduced in the neck of a * bottle, it can be tightened by screwing a cylindrical lid (14), which is closed in the upper part and has an internal screw ' thread (15) that fits to the external screw thread (7) of the neck and that has in its internal face of the upper base a ' place (16) for an obstructing disk (17) in a dimension that ' fits to the upper extremity of the neck of the bottle, the lid (14) has external furrows (18) that are similar to the furrows (6) of the neck, and that facilitate the screwing.
The shutting off or the stopping between the ob- * structing disk (17) placed in the internal side of the upper ' side of the lid (14) is guaranteed by the fact that this ob¬ structing disk is pressed against the extremity of the neck of thebottle by the axial force generated by the radical trac¬ tions of the lid against the neck (screwing) .
The re-usable lid, subject of the present patent, * guarantees thus, the perfect closing of bottles, blocking the escape of. gases in gasified beverages, what makes the liquid inside the bottles be kept in perfect conditions, as if the ' bottle had never been opened before. _- __T_r___
OMPI Due to the flexibility and the constructive disposition of the neck of the lid (1) it is easily introduced under pressure, ' involving the neck of the bottle, and because of- its internal'
75 conicalness the neck of the lid fits perfectly, with its thick ened extremety (5) on the encompassed neck that is located ' just below the neck of the bottle, so that when the lid (14) ' is screwed on its neck there's first of all a pressure of the neck of the lid around the neck of the bottle, and then, due
80 to the axial force that was produced, there is a pressure of ' the obstructing disk (17) against the mouth of the neck of ' the bottle, what guarantees the air-tightness of the closing.
To use the lid again, after the bottle is emptied ' all we have to do is to remove the lid (14) , since its neck '
85 (1) is easily removed by traction and can be easily used again in another bottle.
