Abstract

1. Improvements to systems of stretching knitting on rectilinear knitting machines of the type comprising a plate (7) cooperating with at least one endless belt (5) so as to pinch the knitted pieces, characterised in that the device also comprises a motor roller (1) appropriately synchronised with the machine, and rollers of a relatively small diameter (6) mounted at the exit from the line of needles, the said belt (5) extending between the motor roller and the said rollers and stretched by virtue of the collaboration of auxiliary tensioning rollers (8) assisted by corresponding springs, in such a manner that the knitted pieces are pinched and positively driven in a vertical plane coinciding with the imaginary vertical plane, which is the median plane of the machine, the pinching and positive driving effect coinciding with the working cycles of the machine, the degree of the said pinching and driving effect corresponding to the amount of knitting obtained with each cycle of the machine.
