Abstract

In the handle for hand tools, in particular for drills, hammer drills or drill hammers, the attachment to the spindle collar of the hand tool takes place via a strap retainer, which is tightened by means of a hammer screw and an insert nut injection-moulded in the auxiliary handle. Tightening is effected by rotating the handle and thus by turning the insert nut. The strap retainer is contained in an attachment head, which has a shoulder which serves for holding and guiding a depth stop, which has a side face which is corrugated, for example transversely to the longitudinal extension of the depth stop. The correspondingly corrugated pressure surface of a pressure element acts on this corrugated side face. The contact force is produced by a spring. The depth stop can be moved simply by moving the pressure surface of the pressure element away from the corrugated side face of the depth stop. This is achieved by finger pressure on the pressure element. <IMAGE>

Description

Additional handles for hand-held tools, in particular for drilling machines, impact drills and rotary hammers, are known, to which a depth stop is attached parallel to the axis of the tool. It is common for the auxiliary handle to be clamped to the tool housing. This is usually done in two ways: by means of a clamping bracket that is swiveled around an axis and engages around the spindle neck of the tool housing, or by means of a tensioning strap that is pushed onto the spindle neck from the front and then tightened.

The depth stop is fixed using the screw that pulls the clamping bracket or the strap. When the additional handle is released, the depth stop must be readjusted. This is very cumbersome and takes a lot of time. In some cases, the depth stop is fixed using a separate screw. In these known devices, the depth stop is adjusted by loosening the screw for a long time and tightening it again after the depth stop has been set up.

In the additional handle for a hand tool shown here, the attachment to the spindle neck is carried out by means of a tensioning strap which is tightened by means of a hammer screw and the threaded bush injected into the handle. Tightening is done by turning the handle and thus the threaded bush. The strap is guided in a fastening head. The mounting head has an approach that serves to hold and guide the depth stop. The depth stop can be made of metal, plastic or similar material; it has a side surface that is corrugated.

The corrugated pressing surface of a pressing element now acts on this corrugated side surface. The pressure force is generated by a spring. To move the depth stop, it is sufficient to move the pressure surface of the pressure element away from the corrugated side surface of the depth stop. This is achieved by finger pressure on the pressure element.

This arrangement offers the advantage that the depth stop can be adjusted without having to loosen a screw. The pressing element can even be designed so that the hand remains on the handle while the thumb of the same hand actuates the pressing element. In this way, a possibly incorrectly adjusted or disturbing depth stop can be released from the locking device during the work process.

  • Fig. 3 einen Schnitt nach der Linie III - III in Fig. 2.
Further advantages and features emerge from the following description with reference to the accompanying drawings. It shows:
  • 1 is a longitudinal section through an additional handle with depth stop,
  • 2 shows a further embodiment of an additional handle with a depth stop,
  • 3 shows a section along the line III-III in FIG. 2.

The additional handle shown in FIG. 1 consists essentially of the fastening head 1 and the handle 17. A metallic threaded bushing 16 is embedded in the handle 17, which is made of plastic, for example. A hammer screw 14 is inserted into the funnel-shaped extension 2 of the fastening head 1 and inserted through the bore 15 so that its thread can engage in the threaded bush 16. The head 13 of the hammer screw 14 is guided in two grooves 11 in order to secure the hammer screw 14 against twisting.

Furthermore, the head 13 engages in two slots 12 of the tension band 3. The slots 12 are attached to the two ends of the tension band 3.

This approach 7 is hollow and provided with openings 21 in its opposite side walls 23. The openings 21 correspond in shape to the cross section of the depth stop 20, so that it can be inserted through the two openings 21, the longitudinal axis of the depth stop 20 being parallel to the axis of the tool, not shown. The depth stop 20 has a corrugation on a side surface 22, which with a correspondingly corrugated pressing surface 9 of a push button 10 in

Intervention can occur. The push button 10 is moved by pressing against the force of a compression spring 5 in the transverse direction to the longitudinal axis of the depth stop 20. In this case, the pressing surface 9 is pressed away from the side surface 22. Depending on the inclined position of the corrugated side surface 22 for the force of the compression spring 5, it is also conceivable that the teeth of the corrugated pressing surface 9 laterally, with the end faces of the teeth ahead, over the teeth of the corrugated. Side surface 22 are pushed so that the depth stop 20 can be moved. In this arrangement, the connection is positive and you can use a compression spring 5 with less spring force. It is advisable to give the side surface 22 a slight inclination with an angle 0 6 in relation to the pressure direction, in order to enable the teeth to engage easily when the corrugations engage and, on the other hand, to ensure a play-free, positive connection.

In practice, an inclined position of the corrugated side surface 22 with an angle of α ≦ 5 ° to the printing direction of the push button 10 has proven itself. The push button 10 is guided in the opening 18, on the wall 6 and the two walls 23 of the approach 7. The compression spring 5 is supported on the one hand in the recess 4 arranged opposite the opening 18 and in a bore 8 of the push button 10. If the push button 10 is released, it moves away from the recess 4, so that the two corrugated surfaces 9 and 22 come into positive engagement and the depth stop 20 is locked. If no depth stop 20 is pushed in __ and the push button 10 is not pressed, then the push button 10 is supported on the edge of the opening 18 by the shoulder 19.

Diese Ausführung stellt eine kostengünstige Lösung dar, da hierzu weniger Teile benötigt werden.2 and 3, in contrast to the first embodiment, the handle 41 is provided with an injected threaded bolt 40. This threaded bolt 40 is inserted through the bore 42 of the mounting head 31. As in the first embodiment, the bore 42 has a funnel-shaped extension 37 at the top, which has a rectangular cross section. Through this extension 37, the strap 32 is pushed with its two ends first in the direction of the bore 42. The two ends of the strap 32 have transverse slots 38, in spacing and width corresponding to the threads 39 of the threaded bolt 40. If the strap 32 is now inserted and the two ends meet in the guides 43 on the first gear of the threaded bolt 40, by turning the Handle 41 pulled the strap 32 ever further towards handle 41. This version is an inexpensive solution because fewer parts are required.

Das andere Ende 48 des Hebels 45 erstreckt sich von der Drehachse 46 in Richtung des Griffs 41.The depth stop 35 is locked via a lever 45 which can be conveniently actuated with the thumb, even if the hand remains on the handle 41. The corrugated pressing surface 44 of the lever 45 is pressed against the corrugated side surface 36 of the depth stop 35 by the force of a leg spring 47, which is attached to an axis of rotation 46 of the lever 45 mounted in the shoulder 33. The other end 48 of the lever 45 extends from the axis of rotation 46 in the direction of the handle 41.
