Da das Verbindungsstück 9 die Gestalt eines C-Profils hat und durch die Schenkel der Innenteile 6, 7 des linken Drucknopfes 4 und des rechten Druckkknopfes 5 sowie die beiden Hebel 10 hindurchgreift, ist ein Gestänge gebildet, dessen Elemente eng verbunden sind. Dadurch ist der linke Druckknopf 4 höchstmöglich nach oben angehoben. Claims (6)

1. Suction brush for a vacuum cleaner consisting of a body (1), in which in the upper part on both sides of a suction opening (2) seats are arranged for push buttons (4, 5) of an adjusting mechanism (9, 10) for raising and lowering a brush holder with a brush arranged thereon, as well as a suction plate (20) having a suction channel arranged beneath the brush holder, characterised in that the suction channel is constructed as a twin-ducted suction channel (25, 31) in which the one channel (31) is closed against side edges of the suction plate and the other channel (25) is open at the corners (27) of the suction plate, in that the suction plate (20) has the shape of a trapezium and has respective profiled extensions (24) on the longer side (22) and the side edges (23) respectively, and the open suction channel (25), which in cross-section has the configuration of a trapezium with varying dimensions, extends in an arc (26) laterally of each profiled extension (24) and merges into the cor-, ners (27) which represent rounded portions of the extensions (24).
2. Suction brush according to claim 1 characterised in that the edges (23) of the open suction channel (25) have a radius of 1 to 3 millimetres and a forward sliding surface (29) is inclined at an angle of 8 to 12 degrees relative to a central sliding surface (30).

Suction brush according to claim 2 characterised in that the open suction channel (25) extends in a straight line laterally of the suction opening (2) and in that its width at the height of the forward and central sliding surfaces (29, 30) has a varying value of 16 to 18 millimetres and reduces in the region of the arcs (26) to a value of 5 to 8 millimetres, whilst it increases in the region of the corners (27).
4. Suction brush according to claim 1 characterised in that the depth of the open channel (25) is variable and in the region of the suction opening (2) is 7 to 12 millimetres and in the region of the corners (27) is 2 to 5 millimetres.

Suction brush according to claim 1 characterised in that, on the limbs of the C-shaped connection member (9) of a C-shaped control mechanism, are rotatably mounted push buttons (4, 5) and levers (10), circular ends (11) of which are supported in the seats (12) of the holder (14) forming its fixed rotation point.
