Abstract

1. A sanitary unit of the type comprising a receptacle mounted so as to move between a first position for use and a second position for cleaning, the receptacle being connected to a tiltably mounted frame which is connected in turn to displacement means controlled by programming means connected to a triggering device which causes a cleaning cycle to commence, characterised in that the receptacle (1) is angularly displaceably mounted relative to the frame (2) but is normally integral with the latter when it is tilted, by means of calibrated elastic members (6), which are neutralised when a component (P) is applied to the said receptacle (1), thereby separating it from the frame.

Description

The main patent describes a sanitary block comprising a receptacle mounted movable between a first position of use and a second cleaning position, cleaning members used when the receptacle is in its second position, a conduit for discharging waste water and droppings, means for controlling the movement of the receptacle, means for actuating the cleaning members and programming means for coordinating the actions of said control means and said actuation means during each operating cycle of the sanitary block, these programming means being associated with a triggering organ which causes the start of a cleaning cycle.

According to this patent, the receptacle consists of a toilet bowl and a separate folder, each of the two parts being mounted angularly movable on an axis of rotation and being associated with control means for passing from a position d 'use in a retracted cleaning position, the rotation of the bowl and the backrest being in the opposite direction.

The first addition certificate refers to the fact that the programming means comprise a set of detection members intended to respectively generate signals each representing a given situation of said sanitary block or a given state of said control and actuation means, a set of memory devices connected to memorize respectively said signals during a given period of said operating cycle and relay means connected to said memory means to cause the excitation of said control and actuation means according to the excitation selective of said storage means.

According to this embodiment, the toilet bowl had hitherto been integral with the chassis connected to the tilting control means intended to bring the bowl, during the cleaning cycle, from its position of use to its cleaning position, the tilting cycle being controlled by the programming means and in particular by one or more detectors starting the cleaning cycle only when the user has left the sanitary enclosure and the access door is closed. However, it has been observed that the integral mounting, of the tilting chassis and of, the bowl could be troublesome in particular when the sanitary unit is used by young children because of their low weight and especially because of their small size. , (the legs do not necessarily touch the ground when they are seated on the bowl), which can lead to operational problems if the ground detectors do not detect a presence in the operating cell after the door is closed, for example after the departure of the person who accompanied the child.

The purpose of this addition is to eliminate this risk of incident in order to further improve the safety of use of this type of sanitary installation with automatic maintenance and for this purpose relates to a sanitary block constituted in accordance with the main patent and the first certificate. addition, a receptacle mounted movable between a first position of use and a second cleaning position, the receptacle being associated with a tilting mounted frame which is itself connected to displacement means controlled by programming means associated with a trigger member which causes the start of a cleaning cycle, sanitary block characterized in that the receptacle is mounted angularly movable relative to the chassis but is normally made integral with the latter in its tilting by tared elastic members which are neutralized when a component P is applied to said receptacle, which thus separates it from the chassis.

According to one embodiment, the base of the receptacle is mounted articulated on the tilting frame by an axis of rotation, the elastic members being constituted by spiral springs working in traction.

According to a characteristic of the present addition, the chassis consists of two cheeks welded on a tilting axis, each of them being connected to the receptacle by a spiral spring, one of the ends of which is hooked at an eccentric point of its axis. rotation while the other end is fixed on the base of said receptacle at a point situated substantially in alignment with this axis.

The improvements which are the subject of this addition are shown by way of nonlimiting example in the attached figures in which:
  • - Fig. 1 is a schematic view illustrating the bowl in its two positions of use and cleaning.
  • - Fig. 2 is a diagrammatic view on the left of FIG. 1 showing the cup and the chassis in the tilted position as they are shown in phantom in this FIG. 1.

As illustrated in the accompanying drawings, the receptacle, which in this case is a Turkish bowl, is mounted movable between a position of use 1 illustrated in solid lines and a cleaning position 1 1 shown in broken lines. In accordance with the main patent and the first addition, the bowl is associated with displacement means controlled by programming means not shown, these having in fact no effect on the improvements which will be described below.

According to the present addition, the base of the bowl 1 is coupled to the tilting frame 2 by hinge pins 3, on which said bowl can freely pivot relative to the frame, so that while being integral, these two assemblies are movable angularly one in relation to the other.

The chassis 2 is made up, as illustrated in FIG. 2, two parallel cheeks 2 . welded on a tilting axis 4 resting at its two ends in fixed bearings 5. The side walls 1 2 of the bowl are coupled to the cheeks 2 1 of the chassis by the hinge pins 3.

So that the bowl can be driven from its position of use to its cleaning position, during the tilting of the chassis 2, the latter is connected to said chassis, in addition to the articulation axes 3, by elastic members 6, for example by two calibrated helical springs, one of the ends of which is hung on the bowl and the other on the cheeks 2 1 of the chassis. For this purpose, the two cheeks 2 l are connected to each other by a rod 7 ′ on which is hooked one of the ends of each of the springs 6, the latter being held captive by washers 8 preventing the detachment of the spring. The other end of these same springs 6 is hooked on another rod 9 which is integral with the two side walls 1 2 of the bowl, these two rods 7 and 9 being spaced apart from each other since, as indicated above , the first is integral with the chassis which is located at the pivoting corner of the bowl, while the second is located in the vicinity of the front end of said bowl.

In the position of the bowl illustrated in solid lines in FIG. 1, it can be seen that the axes of articulation 3 of the bowl relative to the chassis define, with the two attachment points 7 and 9 of the springs 6, a triangular arrangement similar to a right triangle whose springs form the hypothenuse. This result is obtained by the fact that the articulation axes 3 of the bowl are eccentric with respect to the attachment points 7 of the springs 6, so that these springs form, when the bowl is in the position of use (illustrated in solid line), a negative angle α relative to the imaginary horizontal plane 10 passing through point 7. This arrangement has the effect of bringing the springs into a position situated below their neutral point 10, thus preventing the bowl from rising by the sole fact of the springs 6 working in traction.

If the springs 6 actually play the role of "clutch" when the tilting chassis is driven in angular displacement around its axis 4, the traction exerted on the springs during the tilting of the chassis (due to the opposite position of the pivot axis 4 and the attachment points 7 of the springs) drive the cup which is thus elastically secured to said chassis.

In the tilted position (as illustrated in phantom in Fig. 1), the chassis comes to bear on a stop 11 and the face 1, of the bowl is then located opposite the cleaning brushes 12 rotatably mounted au- above the discharge pipe 13 for waste water and excrement.

The springs 6 play, as indicated above, the role of clutch to drive the cup, during the tilting of the chassis, on the sole condition that said cup is free from any constraint. Indeed, if a component P is applied to this bowl (Fig. 1), this will generate, as a function of the setting of the springs 6, and of the value of the component P, a separation of the chassis and the bowl which will then only be linked by the hinge pins 3. This effect is explained by the fact that the springs 6 will be neutralized so that the chassis 2 will tilt alone to come from the position illustrated in solid lines to the position illustrated in a dashed line, thus causing an elongation of the springs 6 which will then occupy the position illustrated by the plane 14, the bowl, for its part, having not moved in place. This plane 14 is advantageously substantially parallel to a horizontal plane passing slightly above the tilting axis 4 of the chassis and the axes of rotation 3 of the bowl, so that in this position the springs 6 are neutralized, which avoids the sudden raising of the bowl when the component P ceases to be exerted on said bowl.

This provision is particularly advantageous because it avoids, in the case for example where two people would enter together in the medical unit and that one would come out while the other, for example a young child, would still be sitting on the bowl 1, that it does not switch from its position of use to its position of net cleaning during the automatic closing of the access door behind the first person out and starting the cleaning cycle. This safety is sufficiently sensitive for it to come into action as soon as the component P corresponds to a few kilos, this adjustment being given by the calibration of the springs 6. It is indeed necessary to provide a threshold below which the neutralization of the springs does not is not performed, so that the bowl is not locked in position simply because of the weight of the droppings it contains. It can therefore normally be envisaged that the springs are only neutralized when the component applied to the bowl 1 is for example of the order of five kilos.

In order to further improve security and to detect any presence in the use cell, it is also possible to provide above the bowl 1, a photoelectric cell 15 suitably connected to the programming means, this cell opposing when starting the cleaning circuit if its radius is cut due to the presence of a person or an object located on the bowl. Of course this cell should run a short time after the bowl began its tilting movement to avoid it neutralizes the cleaning cycle when said cup pass dev p nt cell 15 interrupting its radius. It is also possible to provide a switch-type contactor under the bowl cutting the cleaning cycle when the bowl is loaded abnormally.
