Abstract

A blast nozzle for blowing-off liquids from surfaces, for example from sheet surfaces, has a tubular body, on the outer surface of which converging plate-like lips are provided which extend generally tangentially to form a blow-off slit which runs in an axially-parallel manner to the body. A plate-form cleaning element which may be moved relative to the blow-off slit is located in the body. The cleaning element is attached to a transmission which is adjusted by a drive provided outside the body. According to one embodiment, the cleaning element is a sheet which extends over practically the entire length of the blow-off slit and which may be selectively pushed into, and through, the blow-off slit, whereas according to another embodiment, it is a tongue which lies in the blow-off slit and which may be moved along that slit.

Description

The invention relates to a blowing nozzle for blowing off liquids from surfaces, for example a sheet metal surface, with a tubular body, on the jacket of which are attached approximately tangentially connected plate-like lips that run towards one another to form an outlet slot that runs parallel to the axis of the body, and with one in the body arranged ,. plate-shaped cleaning element that can be moved relative to the blow-out slot.

In a previously known blow nozzle of this type (DE-OS 24 30 032), the plate-shaped cleaning element is arranged on a slide which is displaceably mounted on the inside of one lip and is actuated by pneumatic cylinders arranged inside the blow nozzle. This enables remote control, so that the cleaning element can be pushed through the blow-out slot from time to time without having to interrupt the operation of the blowing nozzle. However, the use of pneumatic cylinders in the blow nozzle is relatively complex. The blow nozzle must be opened for maintenance work on the hydraulic cylinders used as the drive.

The invention is based on the object of improving the known blowing nozzle with a displaceable plate-shaped cleaning element in such a way that that the drive for the cleaning element takes place from the outside and there are only simple mechanical parts which do not disturb the blowing operation in the blowing nozzle.

This object is achieved according to the invention in the case of a blowing nozzle of the type mentioned at the outset in that the cleaning element is attached to a gear which can be actuated by a drive provided outside the body of the blowing nozzle. According to the invention, only a mechanical gear is located inside the blow nozzle for adjusting the plate-shaped cleaning element mounted there, while the drive is located outside and can accordingly be easily serviced, possibly even without interrupting operation. The gear parts located inside the blow nozzle can be simple mechanical gear parts that do not require any special maintenance, so that the blow nozzle rarely or never has to be opened for maintenance work.

According to a preferred practical embodiment of the invention, the transmission has at least two adjusting rods running perpendicular to the cleaning element, each of which is provided with an eccentric lever connected to the cleaning element and is rotatably mounted about its longitudinal axis. Each eccentric lever can engage with a roller in a receptacle arranged on the cleaning element, so that there is an articulated connection between the cleaning element and the eccentric lever. The control rods protruding from the body of the blow nozzle are above those from the blow nozzle projecting ends connected to a common drive so that they can also be rotated together and move the cleaning element perpendicular to the blow-out slot without the risk of tilting. For example, the outer ends of the actuating rods are connected via a chain drive to a pneumatic cylinder which serves as a drive and which is fastened, for example, to the outside of the blow nozzle body.

According to another, likewise preferred practical embodiment of the invention, the cleaning element is a tongue-like sheet which constantly engages in the blow-out slot and which is displaceable along the blow-out slot. In this case, the cleaning element therefore has a relatively small width and does not extend over the length of the blow-out slot, but can be moved back and forth along the blow-out slot, but cannot be adjusted perpendicularly to the blow-out slot, as in the aforementioned first embodiment of the invention. The tongue-like sheet is attached, for example, to a rope running parallel to the blow-out slot and guided over deflection rollers, which takes the tongue-like sheet with it when it is being adjusted and pulls it through the blow-out slot. The rope can be actuated, for example, by a handwheel attached to the outside of the blow nozzle body. This embodiment of the invention is therefore particularly suitable for simple manual operation, so that an expensive and maintenance-free drive motor can be dispensed with.

In the drawing, two embodiments of the blowing nozzle according to the invention are shown, and that shows
  • 1 shows a cross section through a first embodiment of the blowing nozzle,
  • 2 shows a partial cross section through the blow nozzle in the area of the lips forming the blow-out slot, the cleaning element being in a different position from FIG. 1,
  • 3 is a view of the blow nozzle of FIGS. 1 and 2 from the front,
  • Fig. 4 shows a cross section through a second embodiment of the blow nozzle according to the invention and
  • 5 is a top view of the blow nozzle of FIG. 4.

The blowing nozzle 1 shown in Fig. 1 to 3 has a cylindrical body 2 in the basic form, to which tangentially plate-like lips 3 and 4 connect in one piece, which end at a short distance from one another, so that they extend over the length of the blowing nozzle 1 Form and limit blowout slot 5. It can be seen that the lower lip 4 extends approximately horizontally in the exemplary embodiment shown, its inside delimiting the underside of the blow-out slot 5. The sloping other lip 3 limits the blow-out slot 5 with its outer end.

On the inside of the lip 4 there is a sheet 6 extending over the entire length of the blow-out slot 5, which is designed as a plate-shaped cleaning element and can be pushed back and forth in accordance with the arrow 7 shown in FIG. 1. In Fig. 1, the sheet 6 is shown in its most retracted position, while Fig. 2 shows the sheet 6 in the extended position in which it has been pushed out through the blowout slot 5 to the front. In this way, contaminants that settle in the blow-out slot 5 can be pushed out. The thickness of the sheet 6 corresponds approximately to the height of the blow-out slot 5, so that by pulling the sheet 6 out of the blow-out slot 5 once, it can be freed of all impurities contained in it.

For adjusting the sheet 6, two adjusting rods 7 are provided in the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 3, which are arranged parallel and next to one another at a distance and are rotatably mounted about their longitudinal axis in bush-shaped bearings 8 and 9. Bearings 8 and 9 can be maintenance-free bearing bushes. The bearing 8 is arranged in the wall of the body 2, while the bearing 9 is located in an eye 10 which is attached to the inner wall of the body 2 and lies at a distance above the lip 4.

At the lower end of each control rod 7, a horizontally extending lever 11 is attached at one end below the eye 10. At the other end of this lever is one on the bottom of the same Roller 12 rotatably mounted, which engages in a receptacle 13 located on the top of the sheet 6. This lever 11 acts as an eccentric to move the sheet 6 between the end positions shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 when the corresponding adjusting rod 7 is rotated.

At the upper end of each control rod 7, two sprockets 14 and 15 are arranged one above the other outside of the bearing 8 and thus on the outside of the body 2, and are connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the relevant control rod. A chain 16 and 17 runs over each sprocket 14 and 15, the chain 16 connecting the corresponding sprockets 14 of the two adjusting rods 7 and the chain 17 connecting the sprockets 15 of the two adjusting rods 7. The chains 16 and 17, together with the horizontally arranged chain wheels 14 and 15, form the rotary drive for the two adjusting rods 7, the two adjusting rods always being rotated simultaneously by the mutual coupling.

The rear run of each chain 16 and 17 is interrupted, the respective ends being attached to a chain tensioner 18 and 19, respectively. Between the chain tensioners 18 and 19 there is a pneumatic cylinder 20 which is attached to the outside of the body 2 of the blow nozzle 1. The chain tensioners 18 and 19 are attached to the ends of the piston rod 21 of the pneumatic cylinder which protrude from the two ends of the pneumatic cylinder 20. Thus, the two chains 16 and 17 are connected to the actuating piston which is displaceable in the pneumatic cylinder 20 and is not shown here. Whichever Side of the actuating piston is pressurized or relieved of pressure, the chains are shifted in one direction or the other, so that the two adjusting rods 7 are rotated accordingly via the sprockets 14 and 15 in order to move the plate 6 from the retracted position into the blowout slot 5 push out or pull back. If the sheet 6 is in the retracted position shown in FIG. 1, no pressure medium need be applied to one side of the actuating piston of the pneumatic cylinder 20. Rather, pressure medium is only necessary if the actuating piston is to be displaced in order to adjust the plate 6.

In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 4 and 5, the blow nozzle 31 in turn has a body 32 which is cylindrical in its basic form, to which plate-like lips 33 and 34 adjoin tangentially in one piece and which form and limit a blowout slot 35 which extends over the length of the body 32. On the inside of the approximately horizontally extending lower lip 34 there is a tongue-like sheet 36, which constantly protrudes with its outer tip 37 from the blow-out slot 35, as shown in particular in FIG. 5, but can also be seen in FIG. 4. Fig. 5 also shows that the tongue-like sheet 36 is relatively narrow and accordingly extends only over a small part of the length of the blow-out slot 35.

A wire cable 38 is provided inside the body 32 and is guided over deflection wheels 39, 40 and 41 and Drive wheel 42 is tensioned. Fig. 4 shows that the guide wheels 39 and 40 are mounted on a block 43 which is fixed to the end wall 44 of the body 32. The deflection wheel 41 is mounted in a manner not shown in the body 32, for example directly on the inside of the lip 34.

The drive wheel 42 is fastened on a shaft 45 which extends through a bearing housing 46 and is supported therein. A handwheel 47 is fastened on the outside of the shaft 46, by means of which the wire cable 38 can be moved when the tongue-like sheet 36 serving as a cleaning element is to be moved along the blowout slot 35.

The wire rope 38 need not extend the entire length of the body 32. Rather, it would also be conceivable to arrange at both ends of the body 32 an arrangement as shown in FIG. 5, so that then two tongue-like plates 36 serving as cleaning elements can each be displaced about half of the blow-out slot 35.
