Claims (5)

1. Double band press, which is adaptable to the respective processing tasks and process conditions by exchangeable basic elements, with a press frame displaying support carriers (1) for the reception of two band units one lying above the other, wherein the press frame displays laterally mounted bearing bridges (2), which lie one above the other, are provided with fixed and tightening bearings and in which heating and deflecting drums are rotatably borne, with upper and lower endless and oppositely driven press bands or multilayer band packets (21) guided over the heating and deflecting drums so that the stock to be laminated is received between the upper run of the lower press band and the lower run of the upper press band, with pressure chambers, which are fastened to the press frame and formed by heating plates on the rear side of the press bands in the region, in which the stock to be laminated is guided, and in which equipments for the bearing of the press bands are installed, and with threaded spindles (7) connecting the upper and lower band units (5,4) and taking up forces, wherein the operating ranges of the double band press in respect of the length, the width and the height are variable through these basic elements, characterised thereby, that the press frame consists of an L-frame (16), which at the rear side of the double band press has vertically upright limbs (15), which by way of the lower bearing bridge (2) at the rear side stand in connection with the support carriers (1) of the lower band unit (4), the support carriers (1) of the upper band unit (5) stand in connection with the upper bearing bridges (2'), which in turn stand in operative connection with the lower bearing bridges (2) by way of threaded spindles serving as threaded adjusting spindles (7) for the adjustment of the press gap, the support carriers (1) are installed transversely to the advancing direction of the band in the space enclosed by the deflecting and heating drum and the band runs and are provided with several webs (5, 5', 5", 5"') according to the required moment of resistance and the bearing bridges are provided in accordance with the exertable press force with several nut threads (6, 6', 6", 6"'), in which the threaded adjusting spindles (7) are rotatably borne, the threaded adjusting spindles (7) consist of two parts, both these parts are each connected with the other by detachable sleeve couplings (11) secure against relative rotation, the drive of the threaded adjusting spindles takes place through a gear (15') by setting drive (15) and roller chain (12) or an equivalent force transmission means, as well as the remaining basic elements are so associated one with the other that the double band press can be adapted to the dimensions demanded by the processing task merely through alteration of the appropriate basic elements and the simple exchange of the press bands or multilayer band packets (21) as well as also of the heating plates (8, 9) is thereby secured through moving the double band units (5, 4) apart by the threaded adjusting spindles (7) against the threaded adjusting spindles (7) against the abutments (14) at the limbs (15) of the L-frame (16) and of a jutting-out projection at the rear upper bearing bridge (2') while supporting the weight by a buckle with the sleeve couplings (11) disassembled at the front threaded adjusting spindles (7).

characterised thereby, that the connection between the support carriers (1) and the bearing bridges (2, 2') is produced by head plates (1'), which fastened at the end faces of the support carriers (1) and carry sawtooth profiles.

2, characterised thereby, that the heating plates (8, 9) are fastened to the support carriers (1) by means of guide rails (10) and can be taken out after removal of the front sleeve couplings (11) and replaced by such of a different principle of operation.
4. Double band press according to claim 1 to 3,
characterised thereby, that the threaded adjusting spindles (7), consisting of two parts and connected together by the sleeve coupling (11), are provided with an opposite thread, i.e. acting in both directions.
5. Double band press according to claim 1 to 4,
characterised thereby, that when operating at higher pressures or with greater machine width, the cross-sections of the threaded adjusting spindles are increased or they are arranged in greater number and at smaller spacing in the bearing bridges (2, 2').
