Claims (8)

1. A dental chair having a base (4, 7, 10, 60) which comprises a stationary base part (4) which is essentially rectangular in plan view, a lifting device (60) which is articulated to said base part, and a seat carrier (10) which is arranged at the upper end of the lifting device and is likewise rectangular in plan view, characterised in that the base part (4) and the seat carrier (10) in each case consist of a base plate (11, 31) as a supporting element, bent end pieces (12, 32) which are secured to the shorter sides of the base plate (11, 31) at both sides and which embrace the longer sides of the base plate by way of their bent end parts (12a, 32a), and covering profiled sections (13, 33) which cover the longer sides of the base plate (11, 31) and are secured to the end pieces (12, 32) by means of connecting elements (15, 35).
2. A chair as claimed in Claim 1, characterised in that the covering profiled sections (13, 33) are detachably secured to the end pieces (12, 32) by means of plug-in type connecting elements (15, 35).
3. A chair as claimed in Claim 2, characterised in that elastic centering plugs (15, 35) are provided as connecting elements.
4. A chair as claimed in one of Claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the covering profiled sections (13, 33) consist at will of either two profiled strips (14, 34) which form a longitudinal slot (21, 41), or of closed, flat profiled pieces (13, 33), the latter having similar receiving openings for the connecting elements (15, 35).
5. A chair as claimed in one of Claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the covering profiled sections (13, 14; 33, 34) and/or the end pieces (12, 32) are provided with attached holding means (16, 36) for a bellows (7) covering the lifting device (60).
6. A chair as claimed in one of Claims 1 to 5, characterised in that the covering profiled sections (13, 34) for the base part (4) are transversely divided at one point, whereby a covering profiled section portion (13a, 14a) for the base part (4) is formed, which has the same length as those of the covering profiled sections (33,34) for the seat carrier (10).
7. A chair as claimed in Claim 6, characterised in that in the region of their transverse divisions, the covering profiled section portions (13a, 14a) are connected to one another by means of a profiled section connector (20) which is secured to the base plate (11).
