Thereafter, the steel is subject to texture annealing to produce the desired secondary recrystallization in the (110) (001) position. It has been found, in accordance with the present invention, that either prior to this final texture annealing or after final texture annealing the watt loss of the steel may be reduced by serrating the steel, with the serrating preferably being in a direction essentially perpendicular to the (001) crystal direction.
