Abstract

The invention relates to a method for application of a powdery form containing graphite and synthetic resin Material on one with a metallic coating ne carbon, especially graphite electrode, in which the Application of the powdered material for saving of energy and production costs not from a water suspension onto a cold electrode surface Mixing a water-soluble adhesive for adhesion of the coating on the electrode surface, but by applying the dry powder mixture without special adhesive on the at least on the enamel temperature of the resin heated electrode surface. The synthetic resin melts from this heated surface and thus acts as an adhesive for the graphite powder, hardens and thus forms a firmly adhering, graphite-containing Protective layer that the use of metallic con Clock jaws for current transfer to the electrode in the Arc furnace allows for beam generation without that the contact jaws ver with the electrode surface welding.
