A container made of a plurality of fibre layers, more particularly a plurality of layers of kraft paper, consisting of a wall (1), the layers of which are interconnected by means of an adhesive, and of a bottom disc (2) of the same material, the connection between the bottom disc (2) and the container wall (1) consisting of tongues (13), which are folded over and stuck to the bottom disc (2), which container may have a lid, the connection of which between the lid body and the lid disc is constructed correspondingly, characterized in that the layers of the wall (1), bottom disc (2) and, where applicable, the lid body (5) and lid disc (7) have been glued by a hot-fusible adhesive, in that the incisions (14) in the edge of the container wall (1) and of the lid body edge (5) for forming the tongues (13) consist of straight incisions (14) which extend parallel to the axis of the container wall and of the lid part and the incision surfaces of which form an acute angle (a) with the respective tangential surface (16) of the wall (1) and of the lid body (5) and in that the tongues (13) of the wall (1) have been glued to the bottom disc (2) and the tongues (6) of the lid body (5) have been glued to the lid disc (7) by means of an adhesive applied in the hot state before the tongues are completely folded over.
2. A method of making a container and a lid according to Claim 1, characterized in that the adhesive is applied in the hot state to the inside of the tongues at least in the region of the fold line (8) thereof and said tongues are folded over into the plane of the bottom disc and lid disc only when the hot adhesive has heated the material of the wall.
3. A method according to Claim 2, characterized in that the adhesive to be applied in the hot state is a hot-fusible adhesive.
