Description

The invention relates to a combined device for removing films from cassettes and for processing the removed films, in which a light-tight sealable container contains means for holding a film cassette in such a way that a film strip of a certain length can be pulled out of the cassette, and one Film cutter includes.

In recent years it has become increasingly common to develop photographic films at home and to make prints from them. At the same time, however, it is becoming increasingly difficult for those who plan to find a suitable room at home that can be darkened sufficiently to be used as a darkroom. This is because, especially if a normal processing tank equipped with a film winding spiral is to be loaded with an exposed film taken directly from a cassette, this process must be carried out in a room completely darkened from visible light.

A large number of methods for loading processing tanks in daylight have already been described in the patent literature, but only a few of them have been used in practice because of their production costs and cumbersome and very space-consuming construction. For example, US-A No. 2290152 describes a complex development tank to be loaded in daylight (i.e. without the need for a dark room), in which the film cassette to be unloaded is placed in an auxiliary chamber. The tank of this device is very bulky and is difficult to load with the film.

A similarly complicated and bulky device is described in G B-A No. 671 170. A more elegant solution to the problem is provided by the arrangement described in US-A No. 3906966, in which the film is transferred from a cassette to a film winding spiral when unloaded, which is located in a flat treatment tray and not in a tank. In such a flat dish, however, the treatment of the film would not be uniformly uniform, since the film would be very difficult to moisten evenly and it would be difficult to produce the correct type of liquid movement in the dish. An even more complicated solution to the problem is described in FR-A No. 2369597, in which a film is applied in daylight to an elongated spindle extended from a receiving element, which is then retracted into the receiving element. In order to treat the film, the element is connected to a treatment container, whereupon the spindle is moved out of the element into the container. The film is then rolled off the spindle into the liquid and wound up again after the treatment.

It is now the object of the invention to implement a device of the type described in the introduction, which allows a normal daylight treatment tank equipped with a film winding spiral to be loaded with exposed film even in daylight, that is to say without working in a dark room.

This is achieved according to the invention by a device described in the introduction, which has the characteristic features listed in claim 1.

Preferred features of the invention are described in the subclaims. By means of a twist lock element, the housing part can be moved towards the cover after rotation, after the film has been wound onto the spiral.

When using a bag in which the tank vessel mentioned in claim 1 (essentially consisting of the bottom and the side wall of the tank) is accommodated, the latter can be attached to the lid by appropriate manipulation of the bag from the outside.

The film winding spiral can be of the inner winding type or of the outer winding type, but in the latter case there must be a spur gear mechanism by means of which the film is wound up by an oscillating movement. The processing tank is preferably of the top fill type, with liquid being removed from it by tilting the tank. However, the tank can also be of the bottom fill type, in which light-tight openings are provided in the lid and in the bottom of the tank, but allow liquid to pass through, so that when the tank is introduced into a liquid, it flows into the tank through the openings in the tank bottom. If the tank is lifted out of the bath, the bath liquid flows out of the tank through these floor openings.

In all figures, the same reference numbers have the same meaning.

As shown in FIG. 1, a housing 1, which is closed in a light-tight manner, comprises a holding device 2, into which a cassette 3 is locked. A piece of the film 4 has already been pulled out of the cassette 3 and is ready for winding onto a film winding spiral 5 of a processing tank comprising essential parts, a cover 6, a side wall and a closed bottom. This spiral 5 is attached to the cover 6 of the processing tank and comprises a central shaft 7 and two disks 10 seated on the shaft 7, each of which carries a spiral 9.

The filmstrip 4 will continue to be preferred wise guillotine-like cutting device 11 passed. A lid cap 8 covers the lid 6 from the outside.

In the wall of the container 1 opposite the cover 6, a tank supplementary part 12 comprising the closed bottom 12a and the preferably cylindrical side wall of the tank is connected with its open end 12b in a light-tight manner.

Der sich achsparallel um den Deckel 6 herum erstreckende Randflansch 17 passt auf einen entsprechend abgesetzten Rand um die Öffnung 12b des Tankergänzungsteils 12.2 shows the arrangement of the tank supplementary part 12 in the one side wall of the container 1 with respect to the spiral 5 and the cover 6 before an exposed film strip is wound onto the spiral 5. The housing 1 of the device is closed here by a housing upper part 13, and the tank supplementary part 12 is mounted in a light-tight and nonetheless rotatable or axially displaceable manner by means of a circumferential double seal 14 in the wall of the housing 1 opposite the cover 6. On the circumference of the cover 6, an annular groove 15 is provided, into which an edge part surrounding the opening 16 in the wall 16 of the housing 1 and in the upper part 13 engages in a light-tight manner. The opening edges of the housing wall 16 and the upper housing part 13 together with the annular groove 15 form a rotatable, but completely opaque seal. The edge flange 17, which extends axially parallel around the cover 6, fits on a correspondingly stepped edge around the opening 12b of the tank supplement part 12.

The film winding spiral 5 has a shaft 7, on which there are hook projections 18 for holding the leading end of the film 4.

The tank, which is completed by light-tight displacement of the tank supplement part 12 to the left up to the engagement of the edge of the opening 12 b with a tight fit under the ring flange 17 of the cover 6, is shown in FIG. 3.

The tank supplementary part can preferably be made of stainless steel and the cover 6 and the cover cap 8 can be made of more or less elastic plastic. The lid cap 8 closes a liquid passage 19 in the lid 6, through which, after removal of the lid cap 8 and through windows 20 in a lid inner ring flange 21, developer and other treatment liquids can be filled into the tank which has been completed and with the lid 6 placed upwards, without this Light can fall into the interior of the tank, since a light sealing washer 22, which sits firmly on the spiral shaft 7 at its end facing the cover 6, prevents this by firmly connecting to the edge of the inner ring flange 21 of a significantly smaller diameter than that of the washer 22.

The film winding coil 6 shown in Figs. 1 and 2 is of the inner winding type. Therefore, the free end of the film 4 is guided to the center of the spiral 5 and fixed there on the hook projections 18 of the spiral shaft 7.

At the start of the commissioning of the device according to the invention, the cover 16 and the tank supplement 12 are in their positions shown in FIGS. 1 and 2. Now the upper housing part 13 (FIG. 2) is removed and a cassette 3 containing the exposed film 4 is inserted into its holder 2, whereupon the leading end of the film 4 is pulled through a gap in the guillotine 11 and fastened on the hook members 18 of the spiral shaft 7 becomes. The container housing 1 is then closed again by fitting the upper housing part 13 and the film 4 is wound onto the spiral 5 by rotating the cover cap 8 from the outside, taking the cover 6, shaft 7 and disks 10 with it. As soon as the resistance of the film 4 to further rotation indicates that most of the film 4 has been wound onto the spiral 5, the guillotine 11 is actuated, the film 4 is cut off close to the cassette exit and the film is finished on the spiral 5 until the cut end wound up.

The tank add-on part 12 is then pressed into the interior of the housing 1 while rotating and / or pushing until its edge is pushed into the ring flange 17 with a light-tight interference fit around the opening 12b. The upper housing part can then be lifted off and the tank closed as shown in FIG. 3 can be removed from the housing 1. The film in the tank can then be treated in the usual way.
