Description

The invention relates to a waterproof sealing membrane, which is particularly suitable for use in building and civil engineering.

It is already known to use plastic films as a sealing material in such a way that the sheet-like films are applied overlapping to a substrate and a tape made of self-adhesive profiled sealant, e.g. B. made of butyl rubber, between the foils. The adhesive tape required for this is inserted for the purpose of transport and handling when laying between two layers of a removable protective film, for example made of silicone paper. From DE-A 2510162 it is known to provide rubber sealing sheets with an adhesive tape already during their manufacture; an adhesive tape is attached to a longitudinal edge on the top and another adhesive tape on the opposite edge on the bottom. The adhesive tapes can be covered with silicone paper.

Plastic sealing sheets can also be welded with the help of solvents or by heating.

The laying of such sealing sheets is very cumbersome and even with the slightest inaccuracies when inserting the adhesive tape or when welding, no tight connection is obtained in the overlap area.

A sealing membrane known from DE-GM 79 07 342 consists of a bitumen layer which is covered on the underside with a non-woven material and on the top with sand, a blank, uncovered zone being provided for connection in the edge region. Heating is required to weld the sheets.

From DE-A 1621 939 sealing materials are also known which consist of a flexible film with a coating of a self-adhesive sealing compound. The preferred material for the sealant is a bitumen / rubber compound. This material too is laid overlapping in strips in such a way that the self-adhesive sealant adheres to the surface to be sealed and is protected by the cover film. In the overlap area, the self-adhesive sealing compound of the upper sheet lies on the cover sheet of the lower sheet, so that bonding of the sheet to the sheet is achieved.

If the sheets are not completely smooth, e.g. B. due to unevenness of the substrate, or in the case of tensions due to temperature fluctuations, however, incomplete bonding between the sealing compound and the film or the formation of capillaries through which water can penetrate can occur in the overlap region.

From US-A 41 72830 it is known to modify a sealing material of the type specified above in such a way that a polyethylene film siliconized on the outside is applied as a covering layer to the bitumen / rubber composition, which does not cover an approximately 10 cm wide edge area; the latter is covered with a removable protective film. In this way, a better connection is achieved when the sheets are laid overlapping, but no further material can be glued to the siliconized surface. In addition, bitumen-coated waterproofing membranes of this type cannot be used everywhere; for example, they are not suitable for laying on thermal insulation materials made of polystyrene, which are being used to an increasing extent both in interior fittings and for roof coverings.

Die Verbindung der überlappend verlegten Bahnen erfolgt deshalb im wesentlichen zwischen der selbstklebenden Dichtungsmasse der jeweils oberen Bahn und der Trägerfolie der jeweils unteren Bahn.US-A-39 00 102 discloses a sealing sheet which consists of sealing compound between a carrier film and a protective film made of silicone paper, the latter being removed before the material is used. Therefore, the sealing material is firmly bonded to the substrate with all the disadvantages associated with it. Due to the cold flow of the sealing compound under pressure, the compound can be squeezed out a little laterally. However, such a cold river cannot be controlled, so that this supernatant does little to ensure a safe connection of the tracks to one another. The connection of the overlapping sheets is therefore essentially between the self-adhesive sealant of the respective upper sheet and the carrier film of the respective lower sheet.

In contrast, the invention is based on the object of developing a sealing membrane which not only has the advantages of the conventional materials, but moreover can be laid particularly conveniently and without problems and thereby provides a completely watertight layer. In particular, with the aid of the invention, a reliably tight, homogeneous connection is to be achieved in the overlap area of the sealing sheets, laying on substrates of all kinds is possible, and application of further materials by gluing is not excluded.

The invention relates to a sealing membrane for use in building construction and civil engineering on the basis of a plastic-elastic self-adhesive sealing compound which is enclosed between two flexible layers, the upper layer not covering the sealing compound in the region of one longitudinal side and thus a protrusion for the overlapping connection of the webs, which is characterized in that the lower layer, which is not removably connected to the sealing compound, does not cover the sealing compound in the region of the opposite longitudinal side and thus also forms an overhang for the overlapping connection of the webs.

This way you can reach all over lapping area of the webs reliable bonding by contact of sealant with sealant. With OS-A-39 00 102, on the other hand, sealant can only be bonded to sealant in those areas where sealant has escaped beyond the edge of the carrier film due to cold flow, ie appropriate pressure application, which will only be the case in places.

According to a preferred embodiment, the upper layer in the area of one long side and the lower layer in the area of the other long side leave a narrow strip of the sealing compound as a fixing edge, which is arranged on the side opposite the overlap projection.

Die Schichtdicke für die selbstklebende Dichtungsmasse liegt zwischen etwa 0,4 und 3 mm, vorzugsweise zwischen 1 und 2 mm, insbesondere bei etwa 1,5 mm.Bitumen / rubber mixtures are particularly suitable as sealing compounds, whereby their excellent temperature properties are important: They can still be bent by 180 ° down to - 30 ° C and, on the other hand, do not show any flow up to temperatures of + 80 ° C. H. sufficient stability. It is possible to lay the sealing membrane at temperatures around 0 ° C, since the self-adhesive properties of the sealing compound are then sufficient for a homogeneous connection. A suitable sealing compound for the geomembrane according to the invention consists, for. B. from 40 to 80 parts by weight of bitumen (softening point 60 to 100 ° C according to DIN 1995), 15 to 45 parts of aromatic oil and 5 to 15 parts of rubber, for. B. a styrene / butadiene copolymer. The layer thickness for the self-adhesive sealant is between approximately 0.4 and 3 mm, preferably between 1 and 2 mm, in particular approximately 1.5 mm.

Films made from polyvinyl chloride or fluoride, EPDM rubber, butyl rubber, chloroprene or natural rubber are suitable. H. Materials with sufficient elasticity that do not tear even with greater mechanical or thermal stress, but in particular polyolefin films, i. H. Films made of polyethylene or polyethylene / polypropylene, which can be stretched mono- or biaxially. The thickness of the foils is between 40 and 500, preferably between 60 and 200, in particular around 100 μm. When using laminated foils, for example, two foils, each 50 11 m thick, can be joined together.

Metal foils are also suitable for certain purposes, although they have a lower elasticity.

Are particularly cheap with metals such. B. with aluminum or copper vapor-coated plastic films or laminated metal / plastic films, for. B. from an aluminum foil between two polyethylene foils. Such films are particularly characterized by their water vapor tightness, which they z. B. makes particularly suitable for use in cold store construction.

The sealing membrane according to the invention can also be constructed in such a way that the upper flexible layer consists of a film and the lower one consists of a non-woven fabric or a plastic film laminated with a non-woven fabric. In this way, a sealing membrane is obtained which can be glued to a substrate much better than a plastic film with the aid of adhesive, which can be particularly desirable if the sealing membranes cannot be weighed down after installation, for example with the aid of a gravel fill. Another possibility is that the lower flexible layer of the sealing membrane according to the invention consists of a mesh fabric, so that by pushing against the substrate, sticking through (self-adhesive in places with the substrate) can be achieved. In all of these cases, the homogeneous and tight connection is achieved in the seam or overlap area between the webs in that one self-adhesive side area lies over another.

The sealing sheets according to the invention can be manufactured and used in different widths. A favorable width is about 0.9 to 1.2 m. The width of the self-adhesive area on the upper surface along one side and on the lower surface along the opposite side should be up to 10 cm, e.g. B. about 2 to 8, advantageously 4 to 7, but in particular about 7 to 8 cm. Compared to the materials of DE-OS 16 21 939, it is an additional advantage of the sealing membrane according to the invention that the overlap area can have a smaller width because a particularly homogeneous and tight connection is achieved by the meeting of two areas with self-adhesive sealant.

The optionally provided fixing edge is normally much narrower than the opposite overhang for the overlapping connection of the webs. The fixing edge accordingly preferably has a width of approximately 0.5 to 2, in particular approximately 1 cm. The fixing edge is also covered with a protective film, for example silicone paper. It is used to fix the sheets on the sub-floor without additional aids, which makes laying considerably easier. On the other hand, the fixing edge lying on the top enables subsequent layers, e.g. B. of protective fleeces or the like.

For storage and transport, the self-adhesive areas of the sealing membrane according to the invention are advantageously covered with a removable protective film which is removed when the material is laid. Siliconized paper is preferably used for this.

The sealing sheet according to the invention made of self-adhesive plastic-elastic sealing compound between two flexible layers is characterized in particular by the fact that the upper layer to a certain extent floats on the lower one, which considerably favors a compensation of mechanical or thermal stresses. In addition, this unites Material in itself the advantageous properties of a simple plastic film and a plastic film coated with a sealing compound: It can also be installed where the direct application of bitumen or adhesive compounds, whether by pouring, brushing or in the form of bitumen carrier films, is not is possible ; Compared to simple foils, the material has self-healing properties because the sealing compound itself closes holes in both cover foils, such as can occur when individual gravel stones pass through when laying the material.

The use of thin individual foils gives the entire web great flexibility, which is better than that of thick sealing webs made of a single foil with comparable strength.

The production of the sealing membrane according to the invention with a self-adhesive sealing compound enclosed between two flexible layers can be carried out in a particularly advantageous manner in such a way that a roll mill with two cooled rolls, the two layer materials, eg. B. two films are fed from above in a funnel shape, with a silicone paper strip being carried overlapping in a somewhat larger width in each edge region. The sealing compound is placed in the funnel formed by the two supplied films and the silicone paper and the layer thickness of the sealing compound and at the same time that of the finished sealing membrane are controlled by the distance between the two rollers. The area on the two long sides, used for gluing the sealing membrane during later overlapping laying, is obtained in that the film does not reach the edge of one side, but is replaced by the removable silicone paper.

The accompanying drawings serve to explain the invention in more detail; show it
  • FIG. 1 shows a perspective sectional illustration of the sealing membrane according to the invention,
  • Figure 2 shows a section through two overlapping sealing sheets according to another embodiment of the invention.

Die Schutzfolie steht vorzugsweise seitlich etwas über, damit sie sich leichter entfernen läßt.1 consists of a self-adhesive sealant 11 between two films 12 and 13. The upper film 12 does not extend to the long side 17, so that a strip of the self-adhesive sealant is exposed in the area of this side in the longitudinal direction. Similarly, the lower film 13 does not extend to the opposite longitudinal side 16, so that an exposed self-adhesive area is present in the area of this side on the underside. The self-adhesive areas on both sides on the upper and lower surface of the sealing membrane are each covered with a removable protective film (e.g. made of silicone paper) 14 and 15, which are removed when the membranes are laid. The protective film preferably protrudes slightly from the side so that it can be removed more easily.

When the sheets are laid overlapping, the side 16 lies above the side 17, so that the areas of the self-adhesive sealant 11 not covered by the foils 12 or 13 meet directly and lead to a homogeneous, permanent and watertight connection. As FIG. 2 shows, a completely satisfactory connection is achieved even when the webs overlap, in which the adhesive layers lie directly on top of one another to a large extent, but in some cases there is also an adhesive bond between the adhesive layer and the film.

In the embodiment shown in FIG. 2, the films 13 'and 12' opposite the films 12 and 13 leave a narrow strip 18, 19 of the sealing compound 11 free. This creates a fixing edge, which considerably facilitates the laying of the sheets. The fixing edge 19 on the underside causes adhesion to the substrate, while the fixing edge 18 on the upper side causes additional layers to be fixed. The protective films 14, 15 prevent the material from sticking in the area of the fixing edges during transport and storage.
