Description

The invention relates to a connector housing made of plastic, which can be equipped with electrical connectors, which are each housed in chambers of the housing, locking means and abutments are arranged against pulling out the connector in the chambers and in the housing wall with a lockable to the wall on the housing a hinge web connected tab is provided on the shoulder parts projecting into the housing are arranged such that the tab forms an angle lever, which serve as a rear abutment for the connector and can engage behind the latter.

Such a connector housing is known from DE-A-2 113 365. The locking of the tabs in the housing wall takes place at the rear end via locking lugs that snap into complementary recesses in the housing wall. At the front end, the tab is only held by the hinge. A similar mounting of the tab is known from DE-A-2 704 760.

A disadvantage of these latches of the tab is that the hinge web must perform both its hinge function and a holding function. In the event of forces acting on the tab, which can occur when e.g. B. acts on the conductor of the connector a tensile force, the hinge web as well as the locking lugs must transmit the forces acting on the housing wall. The web is usually not so stable that it can withstand the effects without damage. In addition, the web cannot be made so homogeneously by injection molding that no defects occur; d. H. the web is often a manufacturing-related weak point that only incompletely withstands force due to manufacturing errors. In addition, the hinge web becomes brittle due to frequent actuation of the tab, because the material is not sufficiently elastic to withstand multiple bending movements. A hinge web weakened due to the frequent bending movements and the production of weakened hinge web can therefore break with relatively little force, which has the consequence that the tab falls out and is thus removed from its function.

The object of the invention is to provide a tab arrangement which counteracts a load on the hinge web.

This object is solved by the features of claim 1.

  • Fig. 2 eine Rückansicht des Verbindergehäuses.
The invention is explained in more detail by way of example with reference to the drawing. It shows
  • 1 is a longitudinal section through the connector housing along the line 11-11 in Fig. 2,
  • Fig. 2 is a rear view of the connector housing.

The connector housing 1 shown has two chambers 2 next to one another. Of course, additional chambers can be provided side by side, which can be locked using the method according to the invention.

The housing 1 consists of the side walls 3, the bottom 4 and the cover wall 5. Each chamber 2 is thus delimited by two side walls 3, part of the base 4 and part of the cover wall 5 and has a rear opening 6 and a front opening 7 on.

In the longitudinal direction, the chamber 2 is divided into the connector chamber part 8 and the claw chamber part 9. This division is not essential, but only as an example.

Die Lasche 10 erstreckt sich somit ebenfalls in Richtung der Öffnung 6.The tab 10 is connected to the lid wall 5 via the hinge web 11 in the region of the opening of the chamber part 8 into the chamber parts 9, the wall 5 in the region of the connection being offset at a right angle downwards with an area 5a and the offset 5a up to the opening 6 goes through. The tab 10 thus also extends in the direction of the opening 6.

It is essential to the invention that the tab has locking elements in the rear free end region and abutments on the hinge web side, which interact with corresponding locking elements or counter bearings in the wall 5 or 5a. In this way it is possible to completely relieve the hinge web 11 from the effects of force.

Daraus resultiert eine Verriegelungsnase 19 mit der Verriegelungsfläche 18 im Schultersteg 12.In the example shown, the tab 10 has a shoulder web 12 projecting downwards at a right angle. Each shoulder web 12 ends in the area of the rear edge 13 of the tab 10 in a latching lug 14 which projects beyond the edge 13. On the lug side, a recess 16 is arranged in the region of the front edge 15 of the shoulder web 12 and in the region of the lug 10, which has a vertical wall 17 which ends with an inclined surface 18 towards the front edge 15. This results in a locking lug 19 with the locking surface 18 in the shoulder web 12.

The two locking elements 14 and 19 of the tab 12 interact with corresponding locking elements or abutments of the wall 5. For this purpose, for the locking lug 14, a bridge-shaped, raised wall part 5b, viewed in cross section, is provided, which is so long that the lug 14 of the tab 12 can slide over the front edge 20 of the bridge part 5b and engage under it, which is dashed in FIG. 1 is indicated. In this locking case, the abutment surface 18 of the locking lug 19 engages under a correspondingly shaped projection 21, which is provided in the wall 5 in the region of a shoulder web 12. Thus, the tab 12 can be supported against the wall 5 both in the area of the hinge web 11 and in the area of the locking lug 14, so that the hinge web 11 is completely men is relieved, the inclined surface 18 can bear against the inclined surface 21a or an edge of egg nes projection 21. The choice of the bevel 18 is expedient because it enables unhindered pivoting of the tab around the projection 21 and also ensures an adequate abutment in the closed or locked state of the tab. Of course, it can also be provided that projections are arranged on the tab in the hinge web area which engage under the wall 5 in the locked state of the tab or engage positively in corresponding recesses in the wall 5. In addition to the locking lugs 14, other locking elements known per se are expediently arranged, for example, on the side edges of the tab.

The inner wall of the shoulder webs 12 is preferably also equipped with stiffening strips 22. It is also advantageous if the rear edge regions 15 of the shoulder webs 12 can engage in slots 23, which ensures a particularly fixed mounting of the shoulder webs and thus the tab.
