Abstract

For the purpose of mechanical and automatic equipping of paper tablesets (1) with paper napkins (2), the former are firstly stamped in a stamping device (4) in such a way that they receive fastening means in the form of clips (5). The clips (5) are then opened temporarily by means of an opening device (6) in such a way that a napkin (2) taken by an inserting device (7) can be inserted in a straight-line movement into the set (1). The opening device(6) is then withdrawn and the napkin (2) is released from the inserting device (7). The clips (5) lying back onto the corners of the napkin (2) secure the latter and prevent their undesired separation from the set (1). <IMAGE>

Description

The present invention relates on the one hand to a method for the detachable connection of a paper napkin to a paper table set for the purpose of automatic machine production of the table sets known as Anziset (registered trademark) and equipped with a napkin.

On the other hand, the present invention relates to a device for carrying out this method, which device automatically equips the table sets with the serviettes.

In restaurants and buffets, especially in those with plate service, paper sets and paper napkins are common for the preparation of place settings. As is apparent from Swiss Patent No. 609 547, which was granted on March 15, 1979 in favor of Renato Gastone Anzini, conventional paper table mats and paper napkins have significant disadvantages, which is why a new table mat is proposed in this patent specification, at least contains two fixation means for a napkin, by means of which the napkin can be temporarily connected to the placemat.

Due to the great demand for such new, known under the brand "ANZISET" (registered trademark), directly equipped with a napkin, and due to the fact that there is no machine that equips the bare placemat with a paper napkin, and the The connection of the napkin and the set by hand is expensive and only a small amount of production is possible wrap, by means of which the new placemats can be produced mechanically and automatically.

The present invention is therefore based on the object of creating the basis for being able to follow this need.

According to the invention, this object is achieved on the one hand by a method as can be seen in the characterizing part of patent claim 1, and on the other hand by a device as defined in the characterizing part of patent claim 4.

Advantageous designs of both the method and the device emerge from the dependent claims.

Von da werden die ausgerüsteten Sets stapelweise oder einzeln mittels herkömmlicher Transportmittel einer Verpackungseinrichtung zugeführt, welche Teile nicht Bestandteil der vorliegenden Erfindung sind und daher hier nicht näher beschrieben werden.1 shows an advantageous relative arrangement of individual processing stations for the set 1 and the serviette 2 for the purpose of carrying out the method according to the invention in a device according to the invention. In a first processing station, a set magazine 3, a large number of conventional neutral or printed sets 1 are stacked. By means of a be in paper processing machines Known separating device, which is not the subject of the invention and is neither described in detail here nor shown in the drawing, individual sets are transported to a second processing station, a punching unit 4, as described in more detail with reference to FIGS. 4, 5 and 6. Since the sets 1 are provided with fasteners for the napkins 2, advantageously in the form of tabs 5. Then they are known by also funding and unspecified described herein, to a third processing station, a Oeffnewerk 6 as strength on the basis of F. 7, 8 and 9 is further conveyed, from where, after inserting the serviettes 2, by means of a plug-in unit 7, as described as a fourth processing station with reference to FIGS. 9, 10 and 11, to a fifth processing station, a delivery 8, transported on. From there, the equipped sets are fed in batches or individually to a packaging device by means of conventional transport means, which parts are not part of the present invention and are therefore not described in more detail here.

In parallel to the sets 1, the serviettes 2 from a sixth processing station, a serviette magazine 9, are separated by means of known machine elements, which are not described here and are not the subject of the present invention, and fed to the inserting unit 7 according to FIGS. 9, 10 and 11 . They are picked up by the latter and inserted into the set 1 located in the Oef f newerk 6.

The person skilled in the art easily recognizes that the processing and handling of the sets 1 and serviettes 2 in the individual processing stations 3, 4 and 6 to 9 can advantageously be carried out according to the clock and an automatic equipping of the Sets 1 with napkin 2 is possible in a correspondingly designed device. In addition to conventional separating and transport means, the latter must include at least one set punching unit 4, a tab opening unit 6 and a serviette inserting unit 7, which units must be controlled in a mutually dependent manner.

The expert familiar with the processing and handling of paper easily recognizes that in particular the opening of the tabs 5 in the set 1, such that they lie back on the inserted napkin 2 in such a way that it is secured against accidental falling out, and that Picking up and inserting the multilayer folded serviettes 2 into the cutouts 10 under the tabs 5 in an automatic assembly device, especially with high production output, is problematic. However, the method according to the invention in connection with the device according to the invention overcomes these difficulties.

Das Absenkwerk 17 und die Matrize 12 können von einem Joch 18 getragen werden, das sich quer über die Tischplatte 15 hinweg erstreckt.2, 3 and 4 illustrate the second processing station, the punching unit 4, in which the sets 1 are provided with four cuts by means of four punching bolts 11 and a die 12 in such a way that the four tabs 5 are formed. The punching bolts 11 are advantageously mounted on a carrier plate 13 in a cylindrical and rotatable manner. The latter can be firmly connected to a machine base plate 14. The base plate 14 and the support plate 13 carrying the punching bolts 11 are arranged axially displaceably below a machine table plate 15 on which the sets 1 rest and are conveyed from processing station to processing station. For the purpose of executing the punching wells, this unit is with one stroke movement, for example in the form of a first cylinder 16, by means of which the punching bolts 11 are pushed through the table top 15 and the set 1 into the die 12, which may have been lowered onto the set 1, by a lowering mechanism, for example in the form of a second cylinder 17 . The lowering mechanism 17 and the die 12 can be carried by a yoke 18 which extends across the table top 15.

The rotatable arrangement of the punching bolts 11 makes it possible to adjust the placement of the tabs 5 in the set 1 within certain limits to the dimensions of the napkins 2 to be inserted.

Dabei dient die obere Endstellung dem Zurückklappen der Laschen 5 zwecks vollständiger Abdeckung der Ausschnitte 10, wogegen das Herunterziehen der Oeffnefinger 19 in die untere Endlage der Freigabe der in die Ausschnitte 10 eingesteckten Ecken der Serviette 2 dient.5 to 8, one can see the construction and functioning of the third processing station, the opening plant 6, in which the tabs 5 punched into the sets 1 in the punching unit 4 are temporarily opened for the introduction of the serviettes 2. This is advantageously done by means of four opening fingers 19 which are pivotally connected to bearing plate 21 fastened on a base plate 20 and are actuated by changeover switches 22. By opening the base plate 20 axially, for example by means of a third cylinder 23, along guide pins 25 sliding in bearing bushes 24, the opening fingers 19 3 . the two positions shown in Figs. 6 and 8 are brought. The upper end position serves to fold back the tabs 5 for the purpose of completely covering the cutouts 10, whereas pulling down the opening fingers 19 into the lower end position serves to release the corners of the napkin 2 inserted into the cutouts 10.

From the serviette magazine 9 (Fig. 1) serviette 2 per serviette 2 with known separation and transport means placed on a support plate 26, the shape of which corresponds to that of a suction housing 27 and a suction plate 28, so that the four corners of the napkin 2 are not underlaid from below. On the napkin 2 thus prepared, the suction housing 27, on which there are four tongues 29 at the locations of the cut corners, is lowered onto the napkin 2 resting on the support plate 26 in such a way that its four corners are bent downward and that the side walls of the suction housing 27 drop down over the suction plate 28 and the serviette 2. A negative pressure can then be generated in the suction housing 27 by a suction tube 30, which firmly sucks the napkin 2 onto the suction plate 28 having the holes 31 and holds it in the suction housing 27 with the corners bent downward along the tongues 29. The suction housing 27 can be moved up and down, for example, by a fourth cylinder 32, whereas the suction plate 28, hanging on a longitudinally displaceable axis 33, does not require a displacement mechanism and can be pulled down by its own weight if it is not through the suction housing 27 bottom serviette 2 is held in this.

As soon as the suction housing 27 has received the serviette 2 from the support plate 26 in this way, since it is connected to a slide 34, it can be moved over the opening mechanism 6 by means of a fifth cylinder 37 in the position raised on the guide pins 35 on the guide rails 36 by means of a fifth cylinder 37. At this point, the suction housing 27 with the the napkin 2 held therein is lowered again by means of the cylinder 32 in such a way that the four downwardly bent corners of the napkin 2 pass through the cutouts 10 of the set 1 and the napkin 2 comes to rest on the set 1. After the vacuum in the suction housing 27 has been released, it can be lifted again without the serviette 2 following this movement, since it is initially pressed onto the set 1 by the suction plate 28.

By subsequently withdrawing the opening mechanism 6, or respectively the opening finger 19 from the cutouts 10, the process of inserting the napkin 2 into the set 1 can be completed, since the opened tabs 5 are located on the corners of the napkin now located below the set 1 2 place.

In a next cycle, the set equipped with a napkin 2 can be transported further into the delivery 8.

The inventive apparatus heretofore described may be designed and controlled such that it operates in a f f th clock cycle. The control of the conventional separating and transport means not described here as well as the cylinders 16, 17, 23, 32 and 37 can be implemented in a known manner, which is why it is not discussed further here.

The person skilled in the art will readily recognize that the method according to the invention consists of several method steps which are exactly coordinated with one another, which method steps are carried out in units of the device according to the invention which interact with one another. Just by one in that inventive concept fitted tuning of the individual process steps and processing stations can be that the present object underlying the invention to solve satisfactorily, it being understood that in particular a Oeffnewerk and a Einsteckwe l k, as described heretofore, were hitherto unknown.

The invention offers the advantage that, with the exception of filling the magazines with sets and serviettes and, if appropriate, removing the equipped sets in stacks, no manual labor is required to insert the serviettes into the sets. In addition, a worker can operate a large number of sets of serviettes to operate the device according to the invention; in practice several thousand pieces per hour, compared to about a hundred by hand.
