Abstract

A system for making spatial structures includes connecting pieces for attaching structural rods. The connection pieces include a central body whereupon two superimposed crowns of lugs are arranged, the lugs of one crown being angularly shifted with respect to those of the other crown. The middle axes of the lugs of the two crowns intersect in one same point situated on the axis of the central body. Such is the geometry of the lugs that they may be pierced in a certain zone as required according to the application contemplated, by using center holes for materializing the central body axis and a reference basis.

Description

The invention relates to a multidirectional connection system for structures comprising a connection piece to which bars defining the structure are fixed according to the preamble of claim 1.

  • - statique, afin que, quelle que soit la variation angulaire des lignes de force, celles-ci restent toujours concourantes en un point ; que les flux des contraintes ne rencontrent pas de discontinuités et que, dans les zones de concours, les contraintes soient dissipées dans la masse en évitant les phénomènes de concentration ;
  • - dynamique par la possibilité d'assembler isostatiquement les composants entre eux ;
The design and construction of a structure must meet stability conditions:
  • - static, so that, whatever the angular variation of the lines of force, these always remain concurrent at a point; that the stress flows do not encounter discontinuities and that, in the competition areas, the stresses are dissipated in the mass, avoiding the phenomena of concentration;
  • - dynamic by the possibility of isostatically assembling the components together;
  • - fire, by remedying the subsidence of mechanical characteristics at high temperatures by increasing the thicknesses and diameters of the constituent elements.

The construction of structures currently poses problems in terms of construction materials, and in particular as regards the connecting parts. Generally these parts are specially made and are different depending on their place in the structure. Such constraints result in a high maintenance of cost prices, long implementation times and great difficulty in modifying or recovering existing structures.

French patent 1,520,550 describes a hollow assembly device allowing the circulation of a fluid between concurrent elements. The assembly node comprises a hollow central body on which the fins are fixed, along orthogonal longitudinal planes passing through the axis of the hollow body and through the center of the openings for the passage of the fluid.

The fins also extend on the transverse faces of the hollow body. In front of the openings and on the fins are provided holes for fixing the structural tubes, the end of which is shaped to fit exactly on the edges of the fins and in the openings. The tubes then have a single direction determined during the construction of the node by the relative positions of the opening of the central body, of the fixing hole in the fin and of the edge of the fin. There is no possibility to modify the angles between two crowns.

Another assembly device, described in French patent 2079817, consists of a body in the form of a circular plate, one face of which carries segments of cylindrical rings. The body can receive two forms of fins: one intended for connections in the plane of the plate comprising a stirrup extended by a tail used for fixing the structural elements; another intended for inclined connections on the plane of the plate comprising a circular sector, capable of cooperating with the faces of the central body, on which a tail is fixed obliquely. Each fin is attached separately to the central body using bolts.

The fins determine a single direction of attachment of the structural elements. In addition, the angle which the fins of one crown make with respect to the fins of the other crown is defined by construction and cannot be modified.

The invention aims to achieve a multidirectional connection system providing great flexibility of use and in the form of standardized elements.

The multidirectional connection system for structure according to the invention is characterized in that the central body can be separated into at least two parts, along a transverse plane, each of the parts carrying a ring of ears and in that the cooperating faces of the parts of the central body carry positioning means allowing angular offsets of one crown relative to the other.

According to embodiments, the planes of the ears pass through the axis of the central body or intersect said axis.

  • FIG. 1 represents a multidirectional connection system according to the invention allowing the realization of spatial structures.

The connecting piece 1 forms a node to which the bars 2 and 3 are connected defining the structure.

The ears 5 of the crown 7 are angularly offset from the ears 6 of the crown 8.

According to a preferred embodiment: the ears 5 of the crown 7 are of approximately rectangular symmetrical shape, the mean axis equidistant from the long sides intersecting the axis of the central body and the long sides of the ears 6 of the crown 8 form angles acute with the axis of the central body, the middle axis approximately equidistant from the two long sides intersects the axis of the central body at the same point as the middle axis of the ears 5 of the crown 7, which leads to the axes (lines of force of the bars of the structure) attaching to the ears can all be concurrent at a point on the axis of the nucleus.

The number of ears of each crown was arbitrarily chosen equal to 4 and the angular offset between the ears of each crown of 45 °. In this example, as in those which will follow, the number of ears of each crown can be arbitrary, the number of ears of one crown not necessarily being equal to the number of ears of the other, and the angular offsets between the ears of each crown do not necessarily give an equidistant distribution of the ears around the central body.

The embodiment of FIGS. 2A and 2B comprises a central body separable into at least two parts 11 and 12. Each of the parts carries at its periphery the ears which are either welded or have come directly from molding. The cooperating faces 13 and 14 of the two parts of the central body carry means for angular positioning of a ring relative to the other. According to a conventional embodiment, part 15 of the ears of part 12 engages in slots 16 provided in the crown 11. The central body parts carry, along their axis, a center hole and / or a bore 17 in which can be introduced a fixing piece, for example a bolt, allowing to block the two parts in the desired position. Part 11 can have slots (shown in broken lines) similar to slots 16 at its upper part and receive another element 12.

The center holes and / or bores 17 materialize the axis of the central body and allow precise piercing of the ears.

Another example of a two-part central body is shown in Figures 3A and 3C. Part 18 has six ears and part 19 (Figure 3C) three ears. Positioning means, consisting for example of a lug 20 in the part 18 and of housings 21, allow different angular offsets depending on the use of the connecting piece. According to another embodiment (FIGS. 4A to 4E), the central body consists of two similar parts 22 and 23 (FIGS. 4A and 4B) on the lateral surface of which grooves 24 are provided parallel to the axis of the central body and which enter the body (Figure 4C). The grooves receive or position the bases 25 and 26 of the ears which are held there, for example by gluing, the body preferably being made of plastic. The base surfaces 27 and 28 of the body parts carry a lug 29 and a housing 30 in the form of a coaxial half-crown. Seen from above, the lug and the housing (Figure 4C) are arranged in a crown. The body parts carrying the ears (Figures 4D and 4E) are assembled, in known manner, to form a connecting piece. As previously described, the faces of the ears bear marks 31 facilitating by positioning a piercing range of the ears to receive the structural bars.

In the example of FIGS. 5A to 5D, the central body is formed of at least two parts 32 and 33, each part carrying a peripheral groove 34 whose plane of symmetry is perpendicular to the axis of the central body. The groove is wider at the bottom than at the surface of the body. The bases of the ears 37 and 38 have shapes approximately complementary to those of the grooves with which they cooperate. In this embodiment, each part 32, 33 of the central body consists of two symmetrical or identical parts 39, 40. The maintenance of the parts relative to each other is obtained by the same means as those described in the preceding figures 7A to 7E which have two parts 41 and 42 in half-crown acting as lug and housing (figure 5D).

When the parts are assembled, they define a groove 34 whose section is approximately T-shaped, the crossbar of the T being parallel to the axis of the central body and close to its axis. The end pieces, such as the piece 39, have on their free face 43 a recess 44 coaxial with an axial bore 45. The bases 35 and 36 of the ears 37 and 38 are presented on the pieces 40 assembled back to back and are held by the parts 39 during assembly of the connecting part. The ears can move along the grooves in a plane passing through the axis of the central body or possibly make an angle with this axis and, when the bars are fixed, put themselves in the position of minimum effort.

La partie périphérique de la nervure porte au moins un passage 50 de dimensions égales à la dimension du fond de rainure susceptible de laisser passer la base des oreilles présentant une forme approximativement complémentaire de la rainure et de sa nervure.FIGS. 6A and 6C show an embodiment in which the central body is formed of two symmetrical parts 46 and 47, each of the parts having a peripheral groove 48 of approximately rectangular section, the plane of symmetry of which is perpendicular to the axis of the central body , the bottom of the groove having a rib 49 wider at the surface than at the bottom and in particular of T section, the vertical bar of the T or foot being fixed on the bottom of the groove perpendicular to the axis of the central body, the crossbar of the T being parallel to the axis of the central body and flush with the edges of the groove. The peripheral part of the rib carries at least one passage 50 of dimensions equal to the dimension of the groove bottom capable of letting through the base of the ears having a shape approximately complementary to the groove and its rib.

Chacun des secteurs est séparé du suivant par une paroi longitudinale 51 qui assure une plus grande rigidité de l'ensemble lors de l'assemblage.FIG. 6C shows in section an embodiment in which the rib is discontinuous and extends, for example, over two or four sectors of each part of the central body. Each of the sectors is separated from the next by a longitudinal wall 51 which ensures greater rigidity of the assembly during assembly.

The ears of the connecting pieces are fixed to the tubes of the structure by means of fixing pieces 52 (FIGS. 1, 7A, 7B). According to the embodiment shown, this part comprises at least one yoke 53 crossed by a bore 54 which is brought into line with the bore of the pierced ear as a function of the data from the calculation of the application of forces. The structure connecting bar 2 can be welded directly to this yoke or be maintained.

The fastener 52 carries, in the embodiment shown, a second yoke 55 with an axis perpendicular to that cooperating with the ear. The yoke 55 can be pierced with a bore 56 passing through or not and which can receive a device allowing the irrigation by a fluid of the bar or also (FIG. 7A) sealed connection means 57 and corresponds with a drilling of the bar structure to ensure the passage of a cooling or heat transfer fluid.

The multidirectional connection system according to the invention makes it possible to use the structural bars for conveying fluids and in particular to have an effective fire fighting network by cooling the bars and by using minus a screed bore as a sprinkler device. The applications of the connection system are very numerous and in particular allow the realization of double curvature structures of two layers of variable thickness, such as used in static refrigerants, with or without influencing the Venturi effect, or dynamic, ridge shed type "Tile allowing great ease of transformation and can be fully assembled on the ground with all components and accessories (roofing, piping ...).

The standardization of the connecting parts allows a reduction of the time periods between the moment of design and that of the delivery of the structure, it also allows a lower cost by the universality of the components of the structure.

According to the embodiment shown in Figures 8A-8B, the central body of the connecting piece is made of at least two superimposable parts, each of the parts carrying an earring 63, 64. The part 64 has ears 58 whose planes are, according to the example, vertical. The central body 59 carries housings 60 into which are likely to penetrate lugs 61 provided on one of the faces of the second ring of ears shown in FIG. 8B. The housings provided on the two flat and parallel faces of the central body 59 allow the production of a connecting piece with three ear rings: a central ring 64 according to FIG. 8A and two rings, an upper 62 and a lower 63 as shown in Figure 8B. The central crown 64 can be produced according to one of the examples of FIGS. 4A, 5A, 6A with removable ears. The central body from which the ears 58 leave is cylindrical or polygonal and is pierced along its axis by a channel 65 at least partly of polygonal shape.

Ce point 0 est situé à l'intérieur de la partie du corps central et correspond au point de concours des forces de la couronne médiane d'oreilles 64.The part part shown in FIG. 8B is formed by a central body 66 from which leave ears 67 whose direction relative to the parallel planes of the central body makes an acute angle. According to a feature of this embodiment, the central body is approximately frustoconical, the angle of the cone allowing an equal transmission of the traction or compression forces being exerted on the ears so that the point of concurrence of the forces is at the center O of the connecting piece. This point 0 is located inside the part of the central body and corresponds to the point of competition of the forces of the middle crown of ears 64.

Le corps tronconique porte, sur sa base la plus large, les ergots 61 de forme correspondant à celle des logements 60 de la couronne médiane 64, et selon son axe longitudinal, un canal 68 de forme polygonale de section égale à celle du canal 65 de la couronne 64.The frustoconical body carries, on its widest base, the pins 61 of shape corresponding to that of the housings 60 of the central crown 64, and along its longitudinal axis, a channel 68 of polygonal shape of section equal to that of channel 65 of crown 64.

According to the example of FIG. 8B, the lateral surface of the central body is concave, which allows a reduction in the workpiece and a better distribution of the forces exerted at the end of the ears.

According to embodiments of the central body of the central crown or of the upper and / or lower crowns, at least one part of the body is defined by a volume of revolution of circular or polygonal cross section whose generatrix is formed by at least one curve or a straight line or by a combination of curves and / or straight lines.

The two parts of the connecting piece are joined together by a clamping means, such as a screw and nut passing through the axial channel 65, 68. This axial channel possibly receives a positioning piece 69 of shape corresponding to that of the channel and maintaining the earrings in position relative to each other. In the case of the example, the positioning piece 69 reinforces the angular positioning device formed by the housings 60 and the pins 61.

Selon une autre réalisation non représentée, le dispositif 60, 61 est remplacé par la pièce de positionnement 69.According to another embodiment, not shown, the device 60, 61 is replaced by the positioning part 69.

As in the previous examples, the shape of the ears is provided so as to allow positioning of the structural bars which may have angular deviations a 1 , a 2 , b 1 , b 2 given relative to the mean axis of the ear a o , b o keeping the competition at the same point 0 located on the axis of the central body 14.

In the embodiment of FIGS. 8A, 8B, the ears of the central and lower and / or upper crowns can be enlarged to a limit corresponding approximately to the tangency of the neighboring edges 70, 71 of the ears of adjacent crowns 64, 63 and 62, 64. This feature makes it possible to place the ears of the lower and / or upper crowns in the same plane as one or more ears of the central crown. If one does not wish to obtain a continuous positioning over 360 °, the ears of the lower and / or upper crowns can interpenetrate as shown in FIGS. 2A, 2B; 3A, 3B; 5A, 6A.

According to another embodiment, not shown, the edges 72 of the ears of the lower 63 and upper 62 crowns can, at the limit, be parallel to the axis of the central part.
