Das ausgeschiedene Gasgemisch steigt in den im inneren Behälter 4 angeordneten Gasgemischraum 8 auf. Durch das Komprimieren oder die Ausdehnung des Gasgemisches werden die Volumsänderungen des Energieträgers ausgeglichen. Falls die Gasgemischmenge im Gasgemischraum 8 zu groß wird, kann die Überschußmenge durch eine Überströmleitung 9 entweichen. Die Überströmleitung 9 ist mit einer Entlüftungsvorrichtung 10 (z.B. automatischer Lufttopf, etco) versehen, die verhindert, daß der flüssige Energieträger ausströmt, ebenso wird an die Überströmleitung 9 ein Absperrorgan 11 (z.B. Kugelhahn, etc.) angeordnet, durch das ein Gasgemisch in den Gasgemischraum 8 preßbar ist, um die Dichtheit des inneren Behälters 4 oberhalb des Einlaßanschlusses 6 prüfen zu können. Um die Aufnahme des Gasgemisches in den flüssigen Energieträger zu verhindern, ist der Stand des flüssigen Energieträgers höher als das Geflecht 7.
