Abstract

Bedpans (10) are used for bedridden persons. Conventional bedpans have a small capacity when standing obliquely. This oblique position invariably arises in consequence of a soft base of the bed. This leads to contaminations of the user and of the bed. Moreover, the hard resting surface causes pain. In the novel bedpan (10), the depression (12) is continued to form a part (16) below the seating edge (14). Moreover, the latter is provided, in whole or in part, with a foam cushion, which is covered with a smooth plastic foil. The oblique position arising in use has the effect that liquid and solid excreter slide below the seating edge. A contamination of the user and of the bed is avoided. Bettpfannen sind in den unterschiedlichsten Ausführungsformen bekannt. Sie werden in Krankenhäusern und Altersheimen sowie gelegentlich auch im privaten Bereich bei denjenigen Personen in bekannter Weise verwendet, die nicht mehr in der Lage sind, ihr Bett zu verlassen. Die Bettpfanne wird von der Seite her unter das Gesäß der kranken oder verletzten Person geschoben, die sich mittels irgendeiner Haltevorrichtung vom Bett etwas abgehoben hat. Für diesen Bewegungsvorgang muß der Benutzer häufig seine letzte Kraft anwenden. Sowie er dann die Haltevorrichtung losläßt oder aber die Hilfsperson ihn auf der Bettpfanne absetzt, liegt er mit fast seinem gesamten Körpergewicht auf dem Sitzrand der Bettpfanne auf, die in der herkömmlichen Form aus Kunatstoff oder Metall besteht. Letzteres wird besonders durch die Federmadratzen gefördert. Die herkömmliche Bettpfanne liegt nämlich bei der Benutzungshandlung meistens nicht waagerecht auf dem Bett auf, sondern gelangt in eine mehr oder weniger starke Schräglage, d. h. sie hebt sich zur Fußrichtung hin von der Madratze ab und wird in Kopfrichtung stärker in die Madratze hineingedrückt.
