Description

The present invention relates to the mounting of an adjustable tilt element on a support, in particular a seat back on a base, this assembly comprising two symmetrical connecting members between the support and the adjustable tilt element.

In the area of seats, and more particularly seats for children, it is advantageous to be able to adjust the inclination of the backrest, so as to obtain at least a seated position and a lying or semi-lying position, and possibly also intermediate positions. . To this end, and for this particular application is already known, from Belgian Patent No. 706,358, mounting the kind mentioned above. This document describes, in fact, two realizations:
  • - In a first embodiment, the connecting members between the base and the back are simple sockets or sleeves. The inclination change is obtained by turning over the backrest, whose U-shaped frame has elbows near its ends connected to the base.
  • - In a second embodiment, the connecting members are bent sockets, the frame of the backrest remaining flat. The inclination change is obtained by orienting the angled sockets either forwards or backwards.

In all cases, the change of position of the backrest requires disassembly followed by reassembly of this backrest, which complicates the practical use of the device. The present invention aims to remedy this drawback, by providing an arrangement allowing the passage from a first position to a second position by an extremely simple mechanism not only in its production, but also in its use.

To this end, the subject of the invention is the mounting of an adjustable tilt element on a support, in particular a seat back on a base, comprising two symmetrical connecting members between the support and the tilt element adjustable, mounting in which each of these two connecting members is articulated, around a first axis, to the support and is articulated, around a second axis competing with the first and making an acute angle with it, at the adjustable tilting element, this element and / or the support being deformable so that, by pivoting the two connecting members by about 180 ° around their axes of articulation to the support, the tilting element adjustable can go from a first position to a second position, angularly separated by 2 a.

This produces an assembly requiring a minimum number of parts and axes, and offering stable extreme positions; the only particular condition to be observed in its realization is that at least one of the two parts called support and adjustable tilting element is deformable, in order to allow the 180 ° reversal of the two connecting members, without separating the back of the base . This condition is easily achieved in the case where the adjustable tilt element is constituted by a backrest having a tubular frame in the form of an arch.

According to one embodiment of the invention, the two connecting members between the support and the adjustable tilt element each consist of a solid part having two bores of concurrent axes, and opening respectively on two opposite faces of said massive part, one of these bores receiving a part in the form of a cylindrical or tubular end of the support, while the other bore receives a part in the form of a cylindrical or tubular end of the adjustable tilting element, said cylindrical parts being pivotally mounted relative to the solid part, along the axes of the aforementioned bores. It should be noted that, in the application to seats, this arrangement can be used without any additional means of axial retention of the cylindrical parts introduced into the connecting members, which leads to an extremely simple embodiment. To facilitate the error-free mounting of these connecting members, it is advantageously provided that the two bores of each of them, as well as the corresponding parts of the support and of the adjustable tilt element, have different diameters. The choice of one-piece connecting members also facilitates maneuvering for the passage from one position to another and, for this purpose, the parts considered preferably have a lateral part having a projection intended for their gripping.

According to an additional characteristic, means are provided for angularly blocking the two connecting members with respect to the corresponding parts of the support and / or of the adjustable tilt element, so as to be able to immobilize this element in intermediate positions.

  • la fig. 1 est une vue en perspective d'un siège pour enfant portable, dont le dossier est monté conformément à l'invention;
  • la fig. 2 est une vue en coupe de l'un des deux organes de liaison entre le piètement et le dossier de ce siège;
  • la fig. 3 est une vue de côté du même siège, en position assise;
  • la fig. 4 est une vue similaire à la fig. 3, mais en position couchée;
The invention will be better understood with the aid of the description which follows, with reference to the appended diagrammatic drawing representing, by way of nonlimiting example, an embodiment of this mounting of an element with adjustable inclination on a support, in the case of its application to an adjustable seat backrest:
  • fig. 1 is a perspective view of a portable child seat, the back of which is mounted in accordance with the invention;
  • fig. 2 is a sectional view of one of the two connecting members between the base and the back of this seat;
  • fig. 3 is a side view of the same seat, in the sitting position;
  • fig. 4 is a view similar to FIG. 3, but in the supine position;
  • fig. 5 is a partial front view of the sole frame of the child seat considered, illustrating the passage from one position to the other.

As shown in fig. 1, 3 and 4, the invention is described here in its particular application to a child seat, the main parts of which are a base 1, a seat 2 and a backrest 3 with adjustable inclination.

The base 1 comprises a rear crossmember 4, connecting horizontal lateral parts 5, curved at the front so as to form two ends 6 turned upwards, but inclined relative to the vertical so that they are also turned towards the back.

The seat 2 comprises a frame 7 in the shape of a stirrup, the rear ends of which are articulated to the parts 6 of the base 1, around an axis oriented transversely.

The backrest 3 comprises a tubular frame 8 in the form of a hoop, the two lower ends 9 of which are connected to the upper ends 6 of the base 1, by means of two symmetrical connecting pieces 10.

In the example of application shown, the fabric parts constituting the seat 2 and the backrest 3, fixed to the respective frames 7 and 8, are interconnected and completed by straps 11 for retaining the child. In addition, the backrest 3 is connected to the base 1 by means of two lateral belts 12, making it possible to carry the seat.

The connecting pieces 10 have a structure clearly visible in FIG. 2. They are massive, but each of them has two bores 13 and 14 which open respectively on two opposite faces 15 and 16 of the part considered. The axes 17 and 18 of these two bores 13 and 14 are located in the same plane and are concurrent at a point 19; a denotes the acute angle formed by these two axes 17 and 18, this angle possibly being of the order of 15 °.

In the embodiment shown, the bore 13 of smaller diameter receives an upper end 6 of the base 1, and the bore 14 of larger diameter receives the corresponding lower end 9 of the frame 8 of the backrest 3. The different diameters of the two bores 13 and 14, as well as the corresponding parts 6 and 9 of the base 1 and of the backrest 3, avoid any assembly error on the part of the user.

Comme le montre la fig. 2, chaque pièce de liaison 10 possède encore, du côté de l'alésage 14, une partie latérale présentant une saillie 20 et une région incurvée concave 21, afin de faciliter la préhension de cette pièce 10.As shown in fig. 2, each connecting part 10 also has, on the side of the bore 14, a lateral part having a projection 20 and a concave curved region 21, in order to facilitate gripping of this part 10.

The adjustment of parts 6 and 9 in the two connecting pieces 10 is such that it allows these parts to pivot relative to said pieces, along axes 17 and 18; moreover, the various reinforcing elements 5, 7 and 8 can deform to a certain extent, so that the seat is used in the following manner:
  • In a first so-called sitting position, shown in FIG. 3, the two connecting pieces 10 are located in parallel vertical planes, and have an orientation such that the lower ends 9 of the arch 8 are less inclined relative to the vertical than the upper ends 6 of the base 1. The backrest 3 is thus placed in a raised position.

In a second so-called lying position, shown in FIG. 4, the two connecting pieces 10 are still situated in parallel vertical planes, but have an orientation opposite to the previous one, the projections 20 being turned downwards and no longer upwards. It follows that the lower ends 9 of the arch 8 are more inclined relative to the vertical than the upper ends 6 of the base 1. The backrest 3 is thus placed in a lowered position.

2).This lowered position of the backrest 3 is also indicated in dashed lines in FIG. 3, which shows that the two positions are angularly separated by 2 a (a retaining here, of course, the meaning given above and illustrated in FIG. 2).

It also follows from the above that, for the passage from one position to another, it is necessary to rotate the two connecting pieces 10 by about 180 ° around their axes of articulation at the upper ends 6 of the base 1. It is possible to operate these two parts 10 in opposite directions, as illustrated in FIG. 5, for switching from one position to another. If the shape of the fabric parts of the seat allows it, the two parts 10 can also be maneuvered in the same direction, keeping them parallel. Fig. 5 shows the deformations undergone by the reinforcements when passing from one position to another.

It is understood that, in the intermediate positions, such as that of FIG. 5, the backrest 3 occupies an intermediate inclination between those of the sitting and lying positions. Means can be provided, in addition, to angularly block the two connecting pieces 10 relative to the corresponding ends 6 and / or 9, belonging to the base 1 and / or to the backrest 3, so as to be able to immobilize this backrest 3 in intermediate positions.

The invention, described above in its case of application to a child seat, can also be applied to seats in general, as well as to other technical fields in which the problem of mounting an element arises with adjustable inclination, for example for awnings.

In a variant, equivalent to the embodiment described above, the two connecting members between the support and the element with adjustable inclination may each be constituted, in place of the solid parts described above, by two sleeves. concurrent axes, joined to each other for example by welding, and receiving corresponding parts of the support and of the adjustable tilt element.
