Bei dem erfindungsgemäßen Flachbandkabel ist parallel zu den Signalleitern ein Abschirmleiter geführt und kann daher zusammen mit den Signalleitern in einfacher Weise mit einer handelsüblichen Steckvorrichtung verbunden werden. Auf die Isolierstoff-folien 13, 14 werden auf ihren Außenseiten die Metallschichten 15, 16 als Abschirmfolien aufgebracht, die auf einer Seite über die Isolierstoffolien 13, 14 hinausragen und dort einen parallel zu den Leitern 1 bis 12 geführten, außerhalb der Isolierstoffolien 13, 14 liegenden Abschirmleiter 17 berühren, so daß eine leitende Verbindung entsteht. Die Enden der Leiter 1 bis 12 und des Abschirmleiters 17 können dabei abisoliert und in einfacher Weise mit einer handelsüblichen Steckvorrichtung verbunden werden.
