Description

The invention relates to a device for partially shielding a container to be heated, such as a glass bulb, from an open flame, e.g. a Bunsen burner, and to distribute the hot gas emitted by the flame.

So far, so-called asbestos wire networks have been used for such purposes, particularly in laboratories or the like, which consist of a relatively narrow-meshed wire mesh which is interspersed with an approximately circular layer of asbestos. These asbestos wire nets are attached to a stand by means of a screw clamp or the like or placed on a tripod in such a way that they are in a horizontal position between the container to be heated, e.g. a glass bulb, and the flame e.g. a Bunsen burner.

The disadvantage of these asbestos wire nets is that the asbestos layer that glows with each work process disintegrates over time and creates harmful asbestos dust for the working personnel, which is whirled up by the thermals.

The invention is therefore based on the object to provide a remedy here, namely by a device which is durable and absolutely reliable and any G e-propelled a health damage to the working staff excludes.

According to the invention, this object is achieved by a glass ceramic plate of relatively small thickness, e.g. solved in the range of about 2 to 7 mm. Glass ceramic plates are highly thermally stable and have a coefficient of thermal expansion that is extremely small or zero. Due to the extremely high thermal resistance and fire resistance of the glass ceramic plates, correspondingly long service lives are achieved. Furthermore, the composition of a glass ceramic plate ensures that this does not represent a source of danger to the health of the workforce.

It is known to use such glass ceramic plates as stove tops with electrical heating elements arranged on the rear, their use as a shield against e.g. however, a Bunsen burner flame is by no means obvious.

According to a special embodiment, a ring of passages for the hot gas can be arranged around the central region of the glass ceramic plate with a full cross section to be arranged above the flame tip. The central area with the full cross-section of the glass ceramic plate provides a certain shielding of the bulb to be heated or the like from the open flame, while the hot gases emanating therefrom pass through the ring of passages to the bulb to be heated or the like can.

The passages can be formed, for example, by circular bores and / or arcuate slots. The passages in the form of bores or arcuate Slits can also be provided along several concentrically arranged circles.

Finally, the passages can also consist of slots arranged in the form of a beam or of groups of slots of the same and / or different lengths arranged parallel to the outer edges of the glass ceramic plate.

The edge of the glass ceramic plate is expediently held by a holder, e.g. supported from an angle profile frame, which in turn can have a mounting handle for the usual fixation on a stand.

Furthermore, the angle profile frame can be open or U-shaped on one side and can be provided with clamping springs for fixing the glass ceramic plate.

The glass ceramic plate or its holder from the angle profile frame can also be loosely attached to e.g. put a tripod on or screw it on.

In particular, the glass ceramic plate can be mounted on the support ring of a tripod and in this position by several, e.g. four projections on the support ring must be secured laterally, each offset by an angle of 90 °.

The invention is subsequently explained on the basis of the drawings of several exemplary embodiments.

The devices shown in FIGS. 1-6 serve the purpose of partially shielding a container to be heated from an open flame, for example that of a Bunsen burner , or of distributing the hot gases emanating from the flame in such a way that the bottom of the glass bulb heats as evenly as possible without coming into direct contact with the open flame. In order to achieve this, the device of FIGS. 1 and 2 or 3 and 4 is arranged in a horizontal position between the Bunsen burner and the container.

For this purpose, the device according to FIGS. 1 and 2 has a glass ceramic plate 10 with a thickness of approximately 2-7 mm, preferably approximately 4 mm, which contains an area 11 with a full cross section in the right half of the illustration, while in FIG an area with passages 12 is shown on the left half, in the form of bores along two concentrically arranged circles.

The glass ceramic plate 10 is arranged so that it can be pulled out easily in a holder 12, which here consists of an angular profile frame that is open on one side. A fastening means 15 is attached to this angular profile frame, with the aid of which the holder 13 with the inserted glass ceramic plate 10 can be clamped on a stand (not shown) at the desired height in the usual manner.

In order to fix the glass ceramic plate 10 in the holder 13, two clamping springs 16 are fastened to the angle profile frame in the positions shown in FIG. 1, which press the glass ceramic plate 10 against the legs of the angle profile frame lying in one plane.

Fig. 3 zeigt jeweils eine Hälfte 10a bzw. F ig. 3 each shows a half 10a or 10b of two further embodiments of the glass ceramic plate. In the case of the glass ceramic plate 10a, the passages 12a for the hot gas consist of slots arranged radially around the circular central region 11. The slots running on the intersecting axes of symmetry of the glass ceramic plate 10a are mutually the same length, but shorter than the remaining slots, which in turn can have the same length.

In the case of the glass ceramic plate 10b, the passages for the hot gas are formed by pairs of slots 12b arranged around the central region 11, which in the arrangement shown in FIG. 3 run parallel to the outer edges of the glass ceramic plate 10b, in this way that a substantially circular central region 11 with a full cross section is obtained in this case too.

In this exemplary embodiment, the glass ceramic plate 10a or 10b is arranged in a holder 130 which consists of a closed angle profile frame 140, on the legs of which the glass ceramic plate 10a or 10b is mounted in one plane. To fix the holder 130 in the desired horizontal position on a stand or the like. In this case too, a fastening means 15 is attached to the angle profile frame 140.

The tripod 18 shown in Figs. 5 and 6 is designed so that e.g. a Bunsen burner (not shown) can be set up. The tripod 18 is provided with a support ring 17 on which, in the present embodiment, a full glass ceramic plate 10c with a thickness of e.g. 4 mm is placed loosely. In order to facilitate the positioning of the glass ceramic plate 10c on the support ring 17 and to prevent the plate 10c from slipping sideways, four projections 19 are arranged on the top of the support ring 17, each offset by an angle of 90 °. These projections 19 can consist of the heads of screws or rivets, but they can also be welded or riveted or screwed-in bolts or the like. The height of these projections 19 is in any case dimensioned such that the desired positional securing of the glass ceramic plate 10c on the support ring 17 is achieved.
