Abstract

Emballage comprenant une partie en carton et une partie en matiere synthetique. La partie en carton est composee d'un fond (1), de parois laterales (3) et (6) et de rebords (7) a (10) prolongeant chacun une paroi. Cette partie en carton recoit une feuille en matiere synthetique (19) par thermo-formage dans un moule. Un cadre (16) est interpose entre l'embase (13) et la platine (14). De l'air comprime est introduit selon les fleches (F1) et apres chauffage de la pellicule (19), de sorte que celle-ci commence par se deformer au centre et rabat les rebords (7) a (10) contre le dessus de l'embase (13). On obtient ainsi, simultanement, le rabattement des rebords a l'horizontal, le collage de toutes les parois et la doublure de toute la partie en carton par la pellicule (19). Emballage de tous produits y compris humides tels que des matieres alimentaires. Un couvercle peut etre scelle sur l'emballage, ce dernier pouvant alors etre utilise pour la surgelation, la pasteurisation et autres operations.

Claims (18)

1. Process for producing a pack formed by a cardboard layer and a synthetic material layer (19) which are superposed, this latter layer (19) being situated at the inside of this package which has a bottom (1 ), sides (3, 4, 5 and 6) not parallel to the bottom (1) and at least one outer flange substantially parallel to the bottom (1), said package being formed starting from a cardboard panel cut out and creased to form the base (1) and sides (3, 4, 5 and 6), first creases (2) separating the base (1) from the sides (3, 4, 5 and 6), then by raising the sides (3, 4, 5 and 6) with respect to the base (1) along the first creases (2) and holding them in this position, then by placing the synthetic material part in the form of a film (19) extending both above the base (1) and the sides (3, 4, 5 and 6) and then applying the film (19) against the cardboard section whilst deforming the same towards the base (1 ), then by exerting either a pressure or a negative pressure or a combined pressure and vacuum action on the film (19), then by inter- rupting the deforming and pressure action or vacuum action when the film (19) adheres to the cardboard section, the film (19) thereafter if desired being cut off along the flange, characterised in that to obtain such a package the flange of which is also provided with a cardboard layer, the panel is provided with flanges (7, 8, 9 and 10) joined to the sides (3, 4, 5 and 6) via second creases (11) and the film (19) is arranged at a particular distance above the top of the cardboard flanges (7, 8, 9 and 10), these still being in the extension of the sides (3, 4, 5 and 6) whereupon the film (19) is deformed towards the base (1) whilst starting from a substantially central area of the package and finish- ing with the periphery, this deformation of the film (19) resulting in folding the flanges (7, 8, 9 and 10) along the said second creases (11), the said pressure also being applied through the film (19) to the said flanges (7, 8, 9 and 10) until they are folded over.
2. Process according to claim 1, characterised in that the deformation of the film (19) is obtained by heat moulding and that the heat is distributed throughout the film (19) placed in position whilst compressed air is ducted into the central zone.

Process according to claim 1, characterised in that the panel cut out and creased is formed to shape by means of a shaping element to raise the sides (3, 4, 5 and 6) with respect to the base (1) whilst leaving the flanges (7, 8, 9 and 10) in the extension of the sides (3, 4, 5 and 6), whilst thereafter holding the panel within a mould (12) in this manner, the depth of the latter being such that the flanges (7, 8, 9 and 10) extend beyond its top, and that the film (19) is then applied.

Device for application of the process according to any one of the preceding claims 1 to 3, of the kind comprising firstly a base (13) in which is formed at least one recess (12) form- ing a mould for an excised and creased cardboard panel, secondly a movable plate (14) comprising a heat source as well as at least one compressed air nozzle (15) apt to be placed close to and in alignment with the base (13), and thirdly elements (16 to 18) for holding a film (19) of synthetic material, characterised in that the depth of the recess (12) is equal to the height of the sides (3, 4, 5 and 6) of the panel so that the flanges (7, 8, 9 and 10) of the said panel situated in the extension of the said sides (3, 4, 5 and 6) extend beyond the top edge of the recess (12), in that when the plate (14) is placed close to the base (13) it delimits a com- partment above the recess (12) the height of which is sufficient to lie above top of the still erect flanges (7, 8, 9 and 10) and the width of which is sufficient to circumscribe the folded down flanges (7, 8, 9 and 10), and in that the holding members (16 to 18) for the film (19) are arranged to position this latter at a distance above the base (13) a little greater than that by which the flanges (7, 8, 9 and 10) pass beyond the top edge of the recess (12).
5. Device according to claim 4, characterised in that the top surface of the base extends around the recess along a distance equal to at least the height by which the panel flanges stand forth when the latter is placed in position in the recess.
6. Device according to claim 5, characterised in that the base (60) comprises at least two recesses (61-62-63) which at their top are spaced apart by a distance equal to that which should separate two compartments of the package.
7. Device according to claim 6, characterised in that the surface of the plate (65) intended to face towards the base (60-77) is provided with at least one additional element (70-71-78) capable of promoting the folding over of the flanges (39) of the package in mechanical manner.
8. Device according to claim 7, characterised in that the additional element is a bowl (78) arranged to be traversed by compressed air and intended to be placed in a concavity of the package when the plate (75) is applied against the base (77).
9. Device according to claim 7, characterised in that the additional element is a sloping ramp (70-71) situated close to a recess edge of the base (60).

Device according to claim 4, characterised in that it comprises a frame (16) inter- posed between the base (13-60) and the plate (14-65) around the recess (12-61, 62, 63) and which has a height a little greater than the length of protrusion of the flanges (7, 8, 9 and 10-36, 37, 38, 39, 47, 48, 56, 57, 58) of the panel.
11. Device according to claim 10, characterised in that the frame (16) is placed on the base (18) and has a top groove (17) with which is intended to co-operate a joint (18) provided on the plate (14).

Package obtained according to any one of the claims 1 to 11, characterised in that it comprises at least one base (1-30, 41, 50), sides (3, 4, 5, 6-32, 33, 34, 35-43, 44, 45, 46-52, 53, 54, 55) which extend in planes each of which subtends- with the base (1) and each of the bases (30, 41, 50) respect- ively- an angle greater by at least a few degrees to a right angle, and flanges (7, 8, 9, 10-36, 37, 38, 39) which extend in a secant plane to that of the sides, particular flanges at least having chamfered extremities so that two adjacent flanges should at most be joined in the same plane, that is without overlapping.
13. Package according to claim 12, characterised in that, comprising at least two separate compartments (A, B, C), it comprises at least two bases (30, 41, 50) and four sides per base, of which at least two (35 and 53) face towards each other.
14. Package according to claim 13, characterised in that two sides (35 and 53) facing towards each other are separated at their top by at least one flange (39).
15. Package according to claim 13, characterised in that each of the two sides facing towards each other has a flange and that these two flanges are in the same plane, the tops of these two sides then being separated by a distance substantially equal to the sum of the widths of thèse two flanges.
16. Package according to claim 14, characterised in that one only (35) of the two sides (35 and 53) facing towards each other has a flange (39), the tops of these two sides (35 and 53) then being separated by a distance substantially equal to that of the said flange (39).
17. Package according to claim 13, characterised in that neither of the two sides facing towards each other has a flange, the tops of these two sides then being substantially con- joined.
18. Package according to claim 13, characterised in that two sides (35 and 53) facing towards each other are substantially parallel.
