Abstract

A valve fur an aerosol container comprises a valve body located within the orifice of the container, with an appendix having a constriction and receiving an ascending tube. In order to ensure a better distribution of solvent and additive luring a simultaneous discharge thereof, rapid and with a stable flow, the appendix (7) comprises, above the ascending tube (8), an inlet port (9) into which is set a small tube (10), e.g. a cannula or the like, which extends inside the appendix (7). The small tube (10) reaches preferably the axis of appendix (7). The ratio of the inner diameter of small tube (10) to the inner diameter of appendix (7) is from 1:3 to 1:7. The small tube (10) is in particular arranged radially and its outer end is even with the outer surface of appendix (7).

Description

Technisches GebietTechnical field

The invention relates to a valve for aerosol containers with a valve housing which can be fully or partially inserted into the mouth of the aerosol container, the valve housing having a valve chamber with a valve body guided therein, an extension with a smaller free cross-section than the valve chamber for receiving a riser pipe and a lateral inlet opening.

Stand der TechnikState of the art

In a known valve of this type according to GB-A-747,379, several side inlet openings are provided on the valve housing. In addition, the propellant, which is in the gas phase, should partially flow into the active substance when it is pressed out of the aerosol container, i.e. first reaches the valve chamber via the riser pipe. A certain primary atomization should already start there with the aim of obtaining a finer and more uniform secondary atomization at the outlet pipe.

With the known valve, however, this goal is only incompletely achieved. The valve housing has a relatively wide free cross section in its valve chamber, so that the desired atomizing effect of the propellant fizzles out very quickly. A large number of such inlet openings must therefore be provided or the free cross section of the inlet opening or inlet openings must be relatively large.

In addition to the fact that the atomization is still not very intensive, the disadvantage is that the propellant can escape in large quantities through the inlet openings and the pressure of the gas phase decreases relatively quickly. At best, the desired favorable atomization effect only arises initially, whereas atomization becomes increasingly unsatisfactory with increasing discharge.

Although the aforementioned GB-A-747,379 has already made the suggestion to arrange corresponding inlet openings on the riser pipe, a noticeable atomizing effect only occurs when several inlet openings are again provided or a correspondingly large free cross section is available. This should even be larger than that of the riser pipe. In this embodiment, too, approximately satisfactory atomization results can only be achieved initially, and there is otherwise premature pressure reduction. As a result, a uniform and fine atomizing mist can no longer be formed, which should, moreover, spread specifically and quickly and far enough. Yes, depending on the physical properties of the blowing agent used, it may even happen that the pressure pad is not even sufficient to discharge all of the active ingredient at all.

Darstellung der ErfindungPresentation of the invention

This is where the invention begins. It is based on the task of designing a valve of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that the solvent and active substance are always distributed particularly finely and quickly at high and low pressures.

According to the proposal of the invention, the object is achieved in that the inlet opening is located in the extension and a tube or cannula extending approximately to the central axis of the extension is inserted in the inlet opening.

The gas phase in the aerosol container, i.e. the blowing agent now acts through the inlet opening and the tube in a targeted manner on the outflowing liquid phase, relatively small amounts of blowing agent already improving the discharge of solvent and active ingredient in the desired manner. As a result, the flow rate of the outflowing aerosol is increased, the propellant being loaded with solvent and active ingredient in finely divided form and the flow becoming particularly uniform and stable.

The local area of action is chosen so that an optimal effect is achieved. This area lies below the actual valve chamber, where the flow velocity is correspondingly high due to the small flow cross section. On the other hand, the selected area - it is regularly above the riser pipe - is close to the valve chamber, so that expansion can take place immediately.

The particular advantages of the invention lie in the fact that a well-distributed atomizing mist always occurs and the active ingredient is rapidly dissolved and distributed in the environment. The atomization is so intensive that even an otherwise flammable solvent loses its ignitability practically immediately after exiting the valve, since it drops to concentration values that no longer permit ignition. As a result, a valve according to the invention can also reduce the flammability of aerosols, and this in a purely physical way.

According to a further proposal, the inside diameter of the tube or cannula to the inside diameter of the extension is in a size ratio of about 1: 3 to about 1: 7.

For its attachment as well as its function, it is advantageous if the tube or the cannula is aligned radially.

The tube or the cannula expediently closes to the outside approximately flush with the extension.

The tube 10 is aligned radially to the extension 7 and extends approximately in the middle. It has a relatively small inner diameter, with its inner diameter depending on the inner diameter of the extension 7.

For this purpose, the closure cap 4 is placed on the mouth edge of the aerosol container 11 and pressed tight by flanging its edge. The outlet pipe 3 carries an atomizer head 12, by means of which it can be operated. The valve housing 1 is completely inserted into the mouth of the aerosol container 11. The inlet opening 9 together with the tube 10 can only be perceived from the outside as a punctiform inlet in the extension 7. The separation of the contents of the aerosol container 11 into a gas phase and a liquid phase is indicated by a dashed line 13.
