Description

The present invention relates to a box for packaging and transporting objects, for example intended to be provided by merchants to their customers, with a view to enabling the latter to carry their purchases.

By patent GB-A-831,456, a bag is already known for packaging and transporting objects comprising a pocket comprising a rectangular bottom, two large opposite flat faces, two lateral bellows and gripping means arranged at its part opposite the bottom. These gripping means are constituted by a system of flap openings, forming an integral part of the bag and ensuring the approximation of the upper edges of the opening of the pocket and the closing of the latter, said bellows being provided with lines of longitudinal folding. Due to its constituent material, this known bag must include reinforcing strips glued to the location of said gripping means, so that its cost is expensive. It can only be used for the packaging and transport of luxury goods. In addition, its mechanical strength is limited and it can tear when the objects enclosed therein are heavy and / or have angular parts. Finally, it cannot have two different packaging volumes.

Furthermore, from patent CH-A-591 993, a box is known of a rigid material, such as cardboard, having a lower part in the form of a parallelepiped and an upper part in the form of a roof. However, such a box can only offer one volume of packaging.

The present invention relates to a box which can have two different packaging volumes depending on the objects to be transported and which can be manufactured in a simple manner.

To this end, according to the invention, the box for packaging and transporting objects, of the type comprising a pocket comprising a rectangular or square bottom, two opposite main faces and two lateral bellows and provided with means for gripping at its part opposite to said bottom, this box being produced by folding and gluing a single flank of a rigid material such as cardboard and said gripping means being constituted by a system of openings and flap, forming an integral part of said flank and ensuring the approximation of the upper edges of the opening of the pocket and the sealing thereof, said bellows being provided with longitudinal fold lines, is characterized in that each bellows is provided with an intermediate set of fold lines located between the bottom and the upper part of the box two by two symmetrical with respect to the corresponding longitudinal fold line, the intermediate sets of fold lines being similar and different placed at the same height from the bottom of the box, so that the box can be given, as desired, either a section narrowing continuously from the bottom to the gripping means, or a constant section between the bottom and said intermediate sets of fold lines, then a continuously narrowing section from said intermediate sets of fold lines to the gripping means.

Thus, the box according to the invention can be produced by machines. of known cardboard, which greatly reduces its cost price. In addition, being made of cardboard, its mechanical strength is good and because of its intermediate fold lines, it can have two different packaging volumes.

In these figures, identical references designate similar elements.

The cardboard side, shown in FIG. 1 and intended for the production of a box according to the invention, comprises two main rectangular faces 1 and 2, connected together by a lateral face 3 in which are pre-fold lines, intended to give said lateral face 3 the shape of a bellows when said box is used. For this, these pre-folding lines include two portions 4a and 4b forming the two sides of an isosceles triangle and provided in the vicinity of the bottom of the box and a portion 4c, median to the face 3 and extending over most of it. of it. The faces 1 and 2 are respectively connected to the face 3 by pre-folding lines 5 and 6 parallel to each other and to the pre-folding line 4c. On the side opposite to the lateral face 3, the main face 1 is connected by another pre-folding line 7 parallel to the pre-folding lines 5 and 6, to another side face 8, identical to the side face 3 and provided like it with pre-folding lines 9a, 9b and 9c, intended to allow it to take, in use, the form of a bellows and corresponding respectively to the pre-folding lines 4a, 4b and 4c. Furthermore, on the side opposite to the lateral face 3, the main face 2 is connected, by another pre-folding line 10 parallel to the pre-folding lines 5, 6 and 7, to a flap 11, intended to be glued to the inner side. from the side face 8, to form the box.

At the lower part of the faces 1, 2, 3 and 8 are provided various flaps 12, 13, 14a-14b and 15a-15b articulated around a pre-folding line 16 perpendicular to the pre-folding lines 5, 6 and 7 and intended to form an automatic bottom in a known manner, that is to say a bottom capable of being laid flat in a plane orthogonal to its own plane, but of forming spontaneously when one moves aside one of the other sides of the folding box to which it belongs. To this end, the flaps 12 and 13 are rectangular, while the flaps 14a-14b and 15a-15b have parts 14a and 15a in the form of an isosceles triangle and parts 14b and 15b, respectively articulated around an isosceles side of the said flaps. triangles and likely to be stuck on flaps 13 and 12.

At the upper part of the face 1 is provided a flap 17 articulated thereto by means of two spaced pre-folding lines 18 and 19, parallel to each other and perpendicular to the pre-folding lines 5, 6, 7 and 10.

In the faces 1 and 2 and in the flap 17 are provided openings 20, 21 and 22 capable of coming into concordance with each other when the flank is box-shaped and that the flap 17 is folded over lines of pre-folding 18 and 19.

In the opening 22 of the flap 17 is provided a tongue 31, articulated around a lower pre-folding line 32 extending over the intermediate part of said tongue, parallel to the pre-folding lines 18 and 19.

Par ailleurs, selon une caractéristique importante de la présente invention, les faces 3 et 8, en plus de leur sysème de lignes de prépliage 4a, 4b, 4c et 9a, 9b 9c leur permettant de prendre la forme de soufflets se rétrécissant du fond vers l'ouverture de la boîte, comportent un ensemble de lignes de pliage intermédiaires 4d, 4e, 4f, 4g et 9d, 9e, 9f, 9g, situé entre le fond et la partie supérieure de la boîte symétriques deux à deux respectivement par rapport aux lignes de prépliage longitudinales médianes 4c ou 9c.Furthermore, according to an important characteristic of the present invention, the faces 3 and 8, in addition to their system of pre-folding lines 4a, 4b, 4c and 9a, 9b 9c allowing them to take the form of bellows narrowing from the bottom towards the opening of the box, include a set of intermediate fold lines 4d, 4e, 4f, 4g and 9d, 9e, 9f, 9g, located between the bottom and the upper part of the box symmetrical two by two respectively with respect to the median longitudinal pre-folding lines 4c or 9c.

It can thus be seen that the flank of FIG. 1 can easily, on the one hand, be produced by the usual machines for manufacturing flanks of cardboard or similar materials, and, on the other hand, be then folded, for example around the pre-folding lines 6, 7 and 16, to allow bonding of the flap 11 on the face 8 and of the parts 14b and 15b, respectively on the flaps 13 and 12. Thanks to the automatic bottom 12, 13, 14a-14b and 15a-15b one then obtains a side folded flat and assembled as shown, from the front and rear, by Figures 2 and 3. In this flat position, the boxes according to the invention can be stored easily.

When it is desired to use the box according to the invention, take a folded and assembled side as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 and move the sides 1 and 2 away from each other by autorotating the lines of pre-folding 5, 6, 7 and 10, so as to obtain a box of parallelepiped shape open at its upper end. At this time the automatic bottom is set up and the objects to be packaged and / or transported can be placed in the box according to the invention. When these are put in place, the opening of said box is closed by folding down the flap 17 and pressing one towards the other the upper edges of the faces 1 and 2.

In addition, the tongue 31 is folded down through the openings 20 and 21 which are then in correspondence.

The box according to the invention can then have the general form shown in FIG. 4, the sets of pre-folding lines 4a, 4b, 4c, and 9a, 9b, 9c allowing the faces 3 and 8 to form bellows narrowing from the bottom towards the opening of the box. In this case, the fold lines 4d, 4e, 4f, 4g and 9d, 9e, 9f, 9g remain in the plane of the parts of the bellows in which they are made, and the box according to the invention is such that its section goes shrinking continuously from the bottom to the top of said box. On the other hand, it is also possible to make the fold lines 4f, 4g and 9f, 9g form convex folds in the corresponding parts of the bellows, while the fold lines 4d, 4e and 9d, 9e form folds concave in said parts of the bellows. In this case, the box according to the invention has the shape shown in FIG. 5, the section of the box being rectangular and constant between its bottom and the sets of folding firms 4d, 4e, 4f, 4g and 9d, 9e , 9f, 9g, and continuously narrowing between said sets of lines and the upper part of said box. Thus, at will and depending on the shape and size of the objects contained in said box, it is possible to choose the exterior shape of the latter, to give it either the shape shown in FIG. 4, or the shape shown in Figure 5.

In the alternative embodiment of FIGS. 6 and 7, the lateral edges 33 and 34 of the tongue 31 are converging towards the outside. In addition, in the opening 20 is provided a tongue 23 articulated autor of a lower pre-folding line 24 extending over the intermediate part of said tongue, parallel to the pre-folding line 16. Similarly, in the opening 21 is provided a tongue 25, articulated autor of a lower pre-folding line 26 extending over the intermediate part of said tongue parallel to the pre-folding line 16. The tongues 23 and 25 have elements 27 and 28 likely to cooperate with each other to lock said tabs in the folded position. Furthermore, the lateral edges 29 and 30 of the upper part of the opening 21 are oblique and converge towards the outside.

Ces languettes permettent donc d'obturer la boîte au niveau des ouvertures 20, 21 et 22.In the unfolded position of the box (now see FIG. 7) the flap 17 is folded down on the face 2 by automatic folding of the pre-folding lines 18 and 19 and the openings 20, 21 and 22 are located opposite one of the other. The tongues 23 and 25 are folded back towards each other and the means 27 and 28 are made to cooperate to fix them to one another. These tabs therefore make it possible to close the box at the openings 20, 21 and 22.

Ce verrouillage assure également celui du rabat 17 sur la face 2.Furthermore, the tongue 31 is folded inwards and upwards so that its oblique edges 33 and 34 cooperate respectively with the edges 29 and 30 of the opening 21 to ensure the locking in position of said tongue. This locking also ensures that of the flap 17 on the face 2.

Thus, the openings 20, 21 and 22 delimit, in the faces 1 and 2 and in the flap 17, a handle capable of allowing the hand to grip the box. It will be noted that this handle is particularly comfortable thanks to the folded tongue 31, which prevents hand contact with the upper edges of the openings 20, 21 and 22.

In the alternative embodiment of FIG. 8, cutouts 35, 36, for example circular, are provided straddling the pre-folding lines P 4c, and 9c so as to form notches in which the lateral edges are snapped into place 33 and 34 of the tongue 31, when the latter is folded inwards and upwards. The locking of this tongue 31 and therefore that of the flap 17, is therefore in this case obtained by the cooperation of the lateral edges 33 and 34 with the notches 35 and 36 (see FIG. 9). Of course, it is then necessary for the width of the tongue 31 (from the edge 33 to the edge 34) to be greater than the distance separating, in the position of use of the box according to the invention, the fold 4c from the fold 9c.
