Description

The invention relates to a double oven according to the preamble of claim 1.

In a known double oven (DE-U-70 27 952), two ovens that can be heated by conventional heating devices are accommodated one above the other in a housing common to both ovens. Above the upper oven there is a suction device which sucks in the heated air rising from both ovens and removes it to the outside. The fact that the heat generated during operation of the ovens can rise freely in the common housing means that there is a risk of heat build-up in the upper housing area, which can impair the functioning of the switching and control devices which are also housed in the upper housing area.

It is known in single ovens (DE-B-2310290) to provide air guide channels between the oven muffle and an outer housing, with inlet openings for cooling air being provided on the lower housing area, while a fan is arranged in the upper housing area, which blows into an essentially closed, ins Free leading exhaust duct opens. It has now been shown that such a cooling air system is sufficient for a single oven, but not for a double oven with two ovens arranged one above the other, in which the heat development of the two ovens is added and in the upper housing area, in which usually the electrical or electronic switching and control devices are housed, leads to heat development, which affects the functioning of the electronic devices in particular.

In another known double oven (US-A-3 430 023), a conventional oven located at the bottom with electric or gas-operated heating elements and a microwave oven are arranged in a common oven housing. The problem here is that the conventional oven, in particular the top housing space in which the electrical or electronic devices are housed, is heated up to such an extent that the aforementioned devices suffer damage.

The present invention is based on the object of designing a double oven in accordance with the preamble of patent claim 1 in such a way that, in particular in view of the limited thermal load capacity of electrical or electronic components, strong heat development in the upper housing area is avoided.

This object is achieved according to the invention by the features listed in the characterizing part of claim 1. Due to the special type of air flow in connection with the arrangement of the inlet and outlet openings, the cooling air sucked in at the lower housing limit can flow into the upper housing area directly and with a relatively low temperature and with certainty if the lower oven is largely in the vicinity prevents undue heating of the control and regulating devices arranged in this upper housing area. This is particularly important when using electronic components where an ambient temperature of approx. 70 ° C should not be exceeded.

According to a further embodiment of the invention, the air duct channels open above the upper screen plate into an air duct space delimited by the upper oven on the one hand and by the housing on the other hand. The cooling air flowing in on the underside of the device thus flows around the upper oven and the control and regulating devices arranged above this oven at a relatively low temperature and is discharged directly via the blower and exhaust duct.

According to a development of the invention, an exhaust duct connected to the cooking chamber of the upper oven opens into the exhaust duct. The main air flow caused by the blower exerts a suction effect on the exhaust air coming from the cooking space, which favors the removal of this exhaust air.

A further advantageous embodiment of the invention is given in that in the lower housing area the side and rear walls form a frame to which the lower oven is attached and which has slide rails in the upper area on which the microwave oven is a complete unit in the frame can be inserted and fastened by means of preferably adjustable fastening means. In a particularly simple and economical manner, there is thus the possibility of producing the microwave oven completely in separate production and inserting it into the housing in a few simple steps, with the fastening means being adjustable so that the front surfaces of the two ovens can be exactly aligned.

According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the fan associated with the microwave generator is located with its suction side in the immediate vicinity of a cooling air inlet opening in the housing. In this way it is prevented that this blower sucks in the heated air flowing around the two ovens or it is ensured that this blower can take its cooling air directly from the outside.

It is particularly advantageous here if on the housing front above the switch a horizontal ventilation bar is arranged on the upper baking oven, which is connected to a largely closed warm air outlet duct with part, preferably over two thirds of its length, and forms the cooling air inlet opening with its remaining length.

According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the thermally highly stressed or heat-sensitive electrical and electronic components are placed in the cooling air flow path between the suction side of the blower assigned to the microwave generator and preferably arranged on the housing rear wall and housing side wall. In this way, the blower associated with the microwave generator is additionally used for the intensive cooling of particularly stressed or particularly sensitive components, the cooling of which would not be as intensive due to the general warm air flow rising in the housing.

The invention is explained below with reference to exemplary embodiments shown in the drawing.

Immediately below the lower oven 11 or its thermal insulation is between the side walls 6, 7 and the rear wall 8 form the lower boundary of the double oven de closed screen plate 9 and another such screen plate 42, for example made of sheet steel, arranged immediately above this oven 11. The outer housing explained, that is to say the side and rear walls, are spaced from the inner surfaces of the built-in furniture in such a way that cooling channels 43, 44 and 45 are formed all around the housing, which are connected to one another, but the rear and side walls through the shield plates are separated from the lower oven 11 and largely thermally decoupled. Only above the upper screen plate 42 are openings 46 or recesses 47 present in the rear wall 8 and in the side walls 6, 7, which allow the cooling air to enter the installation space or ventilation space 48 for the upper oven 16. The cooling air sucked in at the inlet openings 41 thus enters the cooling air channels 45, 44, 43 bypassing the lower oven 11, rises as a result of natural convection and as a result of the suction of the fan 37, flows through the ventilation space 48 and the control and regulating devices 34 and is guided from the suction side of the fan 37 into the blow-out duct 35 and from there into the open. In this case, the forced flow exerts a suction effect on the exhaust duct 28, which favors the removal of the exhaust air coming from the cooking space of the oven 16.

The double oven shown in FIGS. 4 to 6 is installed in a built-in piece of furniture, not shown, for example made of wooden plates, which can consist of side plates, a cover plate and a base plate and forms an installation space for the double oven. The outer boundary of the double oven inserted into the installation space of the built-in furniture is formed by a housing 101, by opposite side walls 102 and 103, by a rear wall 104, by a base 105 and by a cover 106. In this housing or frame formed by the parts mentioned A lower oven 107 is installed, which can have a folding door on the front with glass front plate 109 and handle 110 as well as conventional heating elements, e.g. a grill radiator and top and bottom heat, as well as an upper oven 11 above, which is designed as a microwave oven and also a folding door 112 with Has handle 113. There is a screen base 114 between the upper and the lower oven, and a lower screen base 115 below the lower oven 102, which screen floors 114 and 115 fluidically seal the installation space of the lower oven 107 from the rest of the housing space. A horizontal cooling air shaft 116 runs between the lower screen base 115 and the housing base 105, which opens into cooling air inlet openings 117 of a lower ventilation strip 118. The upper housing area with the upper oven 111 is shown as a detail in FIG. 6. For the sake of clarity, a switch panel 119 placed above the upper oven 111 on the front of the housing and assigned to both ovens is shown shifted upward. The switch panel 119, which has a time switch 120 and controls 121, is limited at the top by a ventilation strip 122 which has a warm air outlet opening which in the exemplary embodiment extends over two thirds of the strip length and which has a cooling air inlet opening 124 which extends approximately over extends a third of the length of the last. Connected to the warm air outlet opening 123 is a largely closed warm air outlet duct 125, into which the blower side of a crossflow fan 126 and an exhaust duct 127 connected to the interior of the oven 111 open on the side opposite the ventilation strip. A microwave generator with transformer 129, generally designated 128, is arranged within the ventilation space in the uppermost housing area, which is delimited by the upper limit of the oven 11 at the bottom and by the housing cover 106, and which is arranged in the flow path of a cooling air shaft 130, which cooling air shaft 130 on the one hand the blow side of a special fan 131 is connected and on the other hand opens into the cooking space of the upper oven 111. The blower 131 is placed in such a way that its suction side is immediately behind the cooling air inlet opening 124 of the ventilation strip 122, so that the blower 131 can suck in cooling air directly from the outside, as indicated by arrows. This flow of cooling air flows through the cooling air shaft 130 and thereby intensively cools the microwave generator 128. As is also illustrated by arrows, the warm or hot exhaust air from the interior of the oven is conducted via the exhaust air shaft 127 into the exhaust duct 125 and together with the air flowing around and into the two ovens the upper housing area by natural convection and by suction (fan 126) warm air flowing in through the outlet opening 123 to the outside. FIG. 6 shows that the suction side of the fan 131 is arranged off-center in the ventilation space in the vicinity of the housing side wall 102, as are electrical or electronic components or components which are thermally highly stressed or are very heat-sensitive. The latter side wall 102 has significantly more cooling air inlet openings 132 compared to the opposite side wall 103, which are arranged in addition to the lower inlet openings 133 arranged in both side walls in the vicinity of the uppermost boundary of the side wall 102. In this way, between the suction side of the blower 131 and its inlet openings 132, there is a targeted cooling air flow, as indicated by arrows in FIG. 4, which circumscribes the aforementioned components, switching elements, transformer 129 and the like and is largely no longer linked to the general warm air flow mixes. Such inlet openings can additionally be provided in the rear wall 104 of the housing.
