Abstract
Se ha descubierto que aplicar diformilurea (DFU) a las semillas de las plantas de cultivo aumenta la capacidad de las raíces nutríferas de las plantas de absorber agua y minerales del entorno del suelo. Un descubrimiento adicional es que el agua celular de las plantas de cultivo y el mantenimiento del suelo alrededor de las raíces nutríferas aumenta al aplicar DFU a las semillas de cultivo antes de plantar, al suelo que rodea las plantas o al follaje de las plantas. Un descubrimiento adicional es que se evita el ahogamiento de la planta de cultivo cuando se inunda por lluvia excesiva u otros tipos de inundación. Un descubrimiento adicional es que los rendimientos de las plantas de cultivo aumentan al combinar DFU y el fertilizante de nitrógeno en el suelo de las plantas de cultivo.
