Abstract

The method includes supplying the initial mixture (1) containing agglomerate (2) of manganese ore, reducing agent (3) and fluxing additive (4) to the electric arc furnace (5) with a closed arc; melting the initial mixture (1) to form a layer containing a liquid manganese alloy and a layer containing slag; selection of liquid manganese and with the release of carbon-containing gas containing carbon monoxide (6) burning carbon-containing carbon-containing gas (6) in the presence of oxygen, such as air, in the burner (7), to form carbon-containing carbon dioxide (9); and heating the specified initial mixture (1) in the pre-treatment bin (8) with the specified carbon dioxide-containing carbon dioxide (9) before supplying the specified initial mixture (1) to the electric arc furnace (5) with a closed arc.
