Abstract
A system and method for wet removal and a combination of wet and dry removal of target pollutants, such as sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides and carbon monoxide, from combustion gases and gases from other industrial processes and methods using this system. Manganese oxides are used as the initial sorbent in the system for removing or trapping pollutants. In the wet removal of manganese oxide are mixed in the sludge, which is introduced into the reaction zones of the system. In the case of dry removal of manganese oxide, they are introduced from the supply devices into the reaction zones of the system, where they come into contact with the gas, from which pollutants must be removed. Removal can occur in a single-stage, two-stage, or multi-stage system, where at least one of the reaction zones is a wet scrubber. Many dry gas washers can be used in combination with wet and dry removal systems. The process parameters, in particular the pressure drops in the system, are controlled by electronic control devices to maintain minimal pressure drops in the system and to monitor and adjust the removal efficiency of pollutants. The reacted sorbent can be removed from the reaction areas for reuse, or reused, or restored, and useful and commercial by-products are restored during regeneration. The international application was published along with an international search report.
