Abstract

The thermal insulation material comprises a strip of felt made of mineral fibres (1) covered over its external face (2) by a virtually air- and vapour-tight protective sheet (3). The protective sheet (3) is made from a fire-resistant transparent or translucent polymeric material and extends on either side of the strip (1) so that the surplus lateral portions (4, 5) of protective sheet (3) act as an element for fixing the insulating material. Furthermore, the sheet (3) adheres to a central portion (6) of the external face (2) of the felt strip (1) so as to provide, over the said face (2), two longitudinal lateral zones (7, 8) free of any adherence. Such a material may advantageously be used for the thermal insulation of roofing, floors or walls. <IMAGE>
