Den foreliggende opfindelse angår en særlig fremgangsmåde til fremstilling af phosphitchlorider med den almene formel R1 - 0^ P - Cl (I) m r2

Blandt forbindelserne med formlen I foretrækkes de, hvori R1 bety-Q der C^-C^-alkyl. Når R1 betyder en phenylgruppe, kan denne være 2 U 3281 mono- til trisubstitueret med C-j-C-^g-alkyl, O^-C-^g-alkoxy eller halogen, især med ehlor eller brom, hvor det totale antal carbon-atomer i substituenterne høøst er 18.
Alkylphosphitchlorider med formlen I, hvori R1 betyder en alkyl- 2 gruppe med 1 til 5 carbonatomer, og R betyder ehlor eller en alkoxygruppe med 1 til 5 carbonatomer, er værdifulde mellemprodukter til fremstillingen af insekticidt virksomme 0,S-di-alkylthiophosphater med formlen
Alkyl-0 j[ \ - o - y Alkyl-s' hvori de to alkylgrupper er ens eller forskellige, X er oxygen eller svovl, og Y er en eventuelt 1-3 gange substitueret phenyl-gruppe eller en l-methyl-2-alkoxy-carbonylvinylgruppe.
0,S-dialkylthiophosphaterne af ovennævnte type fremstilles f.eks. ved omsætning af et dialkylchlorphosphit med formlen I og et alkyl-sulfenylchlorid under dannelse af det tilsvarende 0,S-dialkylthio-phosphorsyrechlorid, som, ved videre reaktion med et phenolat eller enolat, giver det ønskede slutprodukt, øfr. J.Org.Chem. 30, 3218, (1965).
Ved at anvende en variant af denne fremgangsmåde kan 0,S-dialkyl-thiophosphaterne af ovennævnte type fremstilles ved først at omsætte et alkylphosphitdichlorid med formlen I med et alkylsulfenyl-chlorid til det tilsvarende S-alkylthiophosphorsyredichlorid og heri udskifte de to chloratomer successivt med en alkoxygruppe og en phenoxygruppe.
Phosphitchloriderne med formel I kan desuden anvendes som mellemprodukter til fremstilling af phosphiter, som indeholder forskellige alkylgrupper eller alkyl- og phenylgrupper i molekylet. Sådanne blandede phosphiter kan anvendes til stabilisering af epoxyforbindelser og sammen med cadmiumbenzoat eller ceriumbenzoat til farve-stabilisering af vanskeligt brændbare polycarbonater, øfr. US patentbeskrivelse nr.3·769*367 og britisk patentbeskrivelse nr.1.180.836.

Det er kendt at fremstille phosphitchlorider med formlen I, hvori 1 2 R betyder alkyl, og R betyder alkoxy eller chlor, ved reaktion mellem phosphortrichlorid og symmetriske trialkylphosphiter, jfr. J.Chem.Soc. 1949, IV, 2921-2927. Således er der f.eks. ved kogning under tilbagesvaling i en halv time af en blanding af tri-ethylphosphit og phosphortrichlorid opnået diethylchlorphosphit i et udbytte på 44% af det teoretiske. Desuden blev der dannet en lille mængde højere kogende produkter og et fast bundfald. I betragtning af det lave udbytte og de økologisk problematiske biprodukter er denne fremgangsmåde også uegnet til kommerciel fremstilling af alkylphosphitchlorider.
Det er endvidere kendt at fremstille phosphitchlorider med formlen I, hvori R1betyder aryl, og R2 betyder aryloxy eller chlor, ved omsætning af phosphortrichlorid og symmetriske triarylphosphiter.
Det har nu vist sig, at phosphitchloriderne med formlen I kan fremstilles på kort tid og i kendeligt større udbytter end de hidtil opnåede ved omsætning af et tilsvarende symmetrisk trialkylphosphit eller triphenylphosphit og phosphortrichlorid når ifølge opfindelsen omsætningen gennemføres i nærværelse af et polært aprot opløsningsmiddel ved en temperatur mellem -15 og 75°C.
Til dannelse af dialkyl- eller diphenylphosphitchlorider omsættes trialkyl- eller triphenylphosphiter og phosphortrichlorid i mol-forholdet 2:1 ifølge reaktionsskemaet 2(R0)3P + PC13 - --------5(^)^01
Til dannelse af alkyl- eller phenylphosphitdichlorider omsættes derimod trialkyl- eller triphenylphosphiter med phosphortrichlorid i molforholdet 1:2 svarende til reaktionsskemaet (ro)3p + 2 pci3 — s 3(RO)pci2
Egnede polære aprote opløsningsmidler er N-alkylerede amider af carboxylsyrer, af kulsyre, af phosphorsyre eller af alkan- eller arenphosphonsyrer, sulfoxider og sulfoner. Særligt foretrukne aprote opløsningsmidler er hexamethylphosphorsyretriamid, N,N',N"-tris-(tetramethylen)-phosphorsyretriamid (phosphorsyretripyrrolidid), N,N'-bis-tetramethylen-n-butan-phosphonsyrediamid, benzenphosphon- 4 143281 syre-bis-dimethylamid, dimethylf ormamid, dimethylsulfoxid, tetra-methylurinstof, morpholin-E'-carboxylsyre-H'',ΪΓ'-dimethylamid og sulfolan. Mængden af aprot polært opløsningsmiddel, som sættes til reaktionsblandingen, er fortrinsvis mellem 0,05 og 10 mol-%, fortrinsvis 1-3 mol-%, i forhold til det totale antal mol af udgangs-produkterne. Reaktionen kan imidlertid også gennemføres under tilstedeværelse af kendeligt større mængder aprote opløsningsmidler.
Indenfor temperaturområdet -15 til 75°0, hvori reaktionen kan gennemføres, er det foretrukne område mellem -5 og 40°C, især mellem 0 og 25°C.
Fremgangsmåden ifølge opfindelsen kan f.eks. gennemføres på den måde, at den ene af de to reaktanter bringes sammen med det aprote opløsningsmiddel, hvorefter den anden reaktant tilsættes.
Valget af aprote polære opløsningsmidler til anvendelse ved fremgangsmåden ifølge opfindelsen afhænger af kogepunktet af slutprodukterne. Der må altid være en tilstrækkelig stor temperaturdifferens mellem kogepunkterne af på den ene side slutprodukterne og på den anden side det aprote opløsningsmiddel, således at det undgås, at det aprote polære opløsningsmiddel kommer med i destillatet under fraskillelsen (ved destillation) af phosphitchloridet med formlen I, idet der i destillatet ellers hurtigt på ny ville optræde en forstyrrelse af ligevægten mellem symmetrisk trialkyl-eller triphenylphosphit og phosphortrichlorid på den ene side og det netop fremstillede alkyl- eller phenylphosphitchlorid på den anden side. Det er fordelagtigt at gennemføre destillationsadskillelsen af phosphitchloridet med formlen I ved så lav en temperatur som muligt. Forudsat de ikke straks viderebehandles, kan alkyl-phosphitchlorideme eller phenylphosphitchloriderne med formlen I, som er fremstillet ved fremgangsmåden ifølge opfindelsen, opbevares under afkøling i en længere periode.
Det som udgangsmateriale anvendte trialkyl- eller triphenylphosphit kan fremstilles in situ ved omsætning af phosphortrichlorid med en forbindelse med formlen R^OH i nærværelse af en støkiometrisk mængde af en amin, såsom triethylamin eller pyridin, i et inert opløsningsmiddel, såsom benzen, toluen eller chlorbenzen. Efter fra- 5 143281 skillelse af det udfældede aminhydrochlorid fortsættes der som beskrevet ovenfor, idet den egnede mængde aprote opløsningsmiddel tilsættes, og phosphortrichlorid dråbevis sættes til den dannede blanding.
Ved gennemførelse af omsætningen af symmetrisk trialkyl- eller tri-phenylphosphit og phosphortrichlorid ifølge opfindelsen under tilstedeværelse af et aprot opløsningsmiddel opnår man, at de i ovenstående reaktionsskemaer viste ligevægte mellem symmetrisk trialkyl- eller triphenylphosphit på den ene side og phosphortrichlorid på den anden side indstiller sig særligt hurtigt og under milde betingelser. Således er det f.eks. muligt at forarbejde reaktionsblandingen ved destillation, umiddelbart efter tilsætning af den anden bestanddel. I kraft af denne anselige forkortelse af reaktionstiderne og undgåelsen af højere reaktionstemperaturer undgås dannelsen af uønskede biprodukter, f.eks. dannelsen af selvantæn-delige phosphiner, som let optræder ved længere tids bibeholdelse af temperaturer over 60°C. Samtidig forøges udbyttet af det ønskede slutprodukt kraftigt, sammenlignet med det ved den kendte fremgangsmåde opnåede udbytte. Den omhandlede fremgangsmåde muliggør således for første gang en uproblematisk kommerciel produktion i stor målestok af phosphitchlorider med formlen I-, endvidere kan denne produktion også udføres i form af en kontinuert fremgangsmåde. Desuden kan phosphitchloriderne med formlen I fremstilles i en særlig ren form ved den omhandlede fremgangsmåde.
Den omhandlede fremgangsmåde belyses yderligere af de følgende eksempler.
Eksempel 1
Dimethylchlorphosphit.
32,5 g (0,24- mol) phosphortrichlorid sættes langsomt dråbevis til en blanding, afkølet til 0 til 5°C, af 62,04 g (0,5 mol) trimethylphos-phit og 4,0 g hexamethylphosphorsyretriamid. Reaktionsblandingen opvarmes derefter til ca. 20°C og omrøres i endnu 2 timer ved denne temperatur. Det dannede dimethylchlorphosphit isoleres ved destillation under reduceret tryk fra reaktionsblandingen. Der opnås 68,13 g (74,5% af det teoretiske i forhold til phosphortrichloridet) dimethylchlorphosphit, kp. 29-31°C/35 mm Hg.

Eksempel 2
Diethylchlorphospiiit.
130 g (0,95 mol) phosphortrichlorid sættes dråbevis i løhet af 1 time, under omrøring, til en blanding, afkølet til 0 til -5°C, af 332 g (2,0 mol) triethylphosph.it og 15,65 g hexamethylphosphorsyretriamid. Reaktionsblandingen opvarmes derefter til 20 til 25°0 og omrøres i endnu 1 time ved denne temperatur. Det dannede diethylchlorphosphit isoleres ved destillation under reduceret tryk fra reaktionsblandingen. Der opnås 330 g (74% af det teoretiske i forhold til phosphortri-chloridet) diethylchlorphosphit, kp. 40-41°C/12 mm Hg.
Det samme resultat opnås ved anvendelse af en blanding, afkølet til 0 til 5°C, af 130 g (0,95 mol) phosphortrichlorid og 15,65 g hexamethyl-phosphorsyretriamid, og dråbevis tilsætning af 352 g (2,0 mol) tri-ethylphosphit.
Eksempel 3
Di-n-butylchlorphosphit.
32.5 g (0,24 mol) phosphortrichlorid sættes dråbevis i løbet af 30 minutter, under omrøring, til en blanding, afkølet til 0 til 5°C, af 125,2 g (0,5 mol) tri-n-butylphosphit og 4,0 g hexamethylphosphor-syretriamid. Reaktionsblandingen opvarmes derefter til 20 til 25°C og omrøres i endnu 2 timer ved denne temperatur. Ved vakuumdestillation af reaktionsblandingen opnås der 106 g (70% af det teoretiske i forhold til phosphortrichloridet) di-n-butylchlorphosphit, kp. 96-98°C/10 mm Hg.
Eksempel 4
Diphenyl chlorphosphit.
32.5 g (0,24 mol) phosphortrichlorid sættes dråbevis, under omrøring, til en blanding, afkølet til 0 til 5°C af 155,2 g (0,5 mol) triphenyl-phosphit og 10,0 g hexamethylphosphorsyretriamid. Reaktionsblandingen opvarmes derefter til stuetemperatur og omrøres ved denne temperatur i endnu 4 timer. Ved vakuumdestillation af reaktionsblandingen opnås der 110 g (61,1% af det teoretiske i forhold til phosphortrichloridet) diphenylchlorphosphit, kp. 170-172°0/11 mm Hg.

Diethylchlorphosphit.
65,0 g (0,48 mol) phosphortrichlorid sættes dråbevis ved 15 til 20°C i løbet af 1 time under omrøring til en blanding af 166,0 g (1,0 mol) triethylphospb.it og 20,0 g tetramethylurinstof, idet temperaturen kontinuert holdes under 30°C. Efter fuldførelse af tilsætningen, omrøres reaktionsblandingen ved 20 til 30°C i 80 timer og destilleres derefter under reduceret tryk. Der opnås 145 g (65% af det teoretiske i forhold til phosphortrichloridet) diethylchlorphosphit, kp. 40-41°C/12 mm Hg.
Eksempel 6
Ethyldichlorphosphit.
137 g (1,0 mol) phosphortrichlorid sættes dråbevis ved 20 til 30°C, under omrøring, til en blanding af 83 g (0,5 mol) triethylphosphit og 10,0 g hexamethylphosphorsyretriamid. Den opnåede gullige suspension opvarmes til 50°C og omrøres i endnu 15 timer ved denne temperatur, Efter at et uopløseligt bundfald er fjernet ved destillation opnås et filtrat, som for ca. 92-95%'s vedkommende består af dichlor-phosphit. Udbyttet er ca. 92-95% af det teoretiske. Ved vakuumdestillation af filtratet opnås der 187-198 g (85-90% af det teoretiske i forhold til phosphortrichloridet) ethyldichlorphosphit, kp. 47-52°C/ 13 mm Hg, Til den videre reaktion kan deri de fleste tilfælde anvendes det rå ethyldichlorphosphit.

Didecylchlorphosph.it.
3,42 g (0,025 mol) phosphortrichlorid sættes dråbevis ved 25 til 30°C, under omrøring, til en blanding af 25,14 g (0,05 mol) tridecylphosphit °g 1,5 g hexamethylphosphorsyretriamid. Efter fuldførelse af tilsætningen omrøres reaktionsblandingen i endnu 5 timer ved 25 til 30°C.
Der opnås 27,5 g råt didecylchlorphosph.it i form af en ikke-destil-lerbar viskos olie (udbytte 96% af det teoretiske).
Eksempel 8
Diethylchlorphosphit.
32,5 g (0,237 mol) phosphortrichlorid sættes langsomt dråbevis til en blanding, afkølet til 0 til 5°C, af 83,0 g (0,5 mol) triethylphosphit og 4,0 g dimethylsulfoxid, medens hele blandingen afkøles 8 163281 og omrøres kraftigt. Efter tilsætning af phosphortrichlorid fjernes afkølingsbadet, og reaktionsblandingen omrøres i 24 timer ved stuetemperatur. Derefter isoleres det dannede diethylcMorpbosph.it fra reaktionsblandingen ved destillation under reduceret tryk, hvorved der anvendes en Vigreux-kolonne (længde 15 cm). Der opnås 88,6 g (79% af det teoretiske i forhold til phosphortrichloridet) diethyl-chlorphosphit, kp. 40-41°C/12 mm Hg,
Eksempel 9
Diethylchlorphosphit, 32.5 g (0,237 mol) phosphortrichlorid sættes langsomt dråbevis til en blanding, afkølet til O til 5°0, af 83 g (0,5 mol) triethylphos-phit og 3,91 g dimethylformamid medens hele blandingen afkøles og omrøres kraftigt. Efter tilsætning af phosphortrichlorid fjernes afkølingsbadet, og blandingen omrøres i 24 timer ved stuetemperatur. Derefter isoleres det dannede diethylchlorphosphit ved destillation under reduceret tryk, hvorved der anvendes en Yigreux-kolonne (længde 15 cm). Der opnås 91,2 g (81,8% af det teoretiske i forhold til o phosphortrichloridet) diethylchlorphosphit, kp. 40-41 C/12 mm Hg.

Diethylchlorphosphit.
68.5 g (0,5 mol) phosphortrichlorid sættes langsomt dråbevis under omrøring ved 25-30°C til en blanding af 166,0 g (l mol) triethyl-phosphit og 4,0 g phosphorsyretripyrrolidid (ϊΤ,Η1 ,F"-tris-(tetra-methylen)-phosphorsyretriamid). Efter tilsætning af phosphortrichloridet omrøres reaktionsblandingen i en halv time. Derefter adskilles det rå diethylchlorphosphit fra phosphorsyretripyrrolididet ved hurtig destillation under reduceret tryk. Der opnås 230 g af det rå produkt, kp. 13-40°C/10 mm Hg, som indeholder 205 g (87,2% af det teoretiske i forhold til phosphortrichloridet) diethylchlorphosphit. Remanensen som bliver tilbage i reaktionsbeholderen, og som i det væsentlige består af phosphorsyretripyrrolidid og små mængder biprodukter kan anvendes som katalysator til ræste portion.
