Abstract
In an electric overvoltage diverter, especially for medium voltages, having a function block (1) and a housing (5) of insulating material surrounding it, the housing (5) is made of an elastically expandable material so that the function block (1) can be inserted into the housing (5) by elastically expanding the latter and easily removed therefrom. This simplifies the separation of the various materials of which the overvoltage diverter consists during the latter's disposal and makes them re-usable. The housing (5) of the overvoltage diverter is preferably made of silicone rubber.
