Abstract

A plate heat exchanger consisting of plates (1) which are rotated by 180 DEG with respect to one another and clamped to form a stack is specified, in which the plate interstices are charged with the fluids via inflow and outflow openings (5, 6, 7, 8) in the plate corners and are mutually supported via their profiles (10), the profiles (10) forming a central, rectangular heat exchange region and two triangular heat exchange regions adjacent thereto. In this arrangement, the profiles (10) of the central heat exchange region of at least one plate (1) are provided with an angle with respect to the direct flow direction between the triangular heat exchange regions and interrupted by at least one section, which is short in the direction of the direct flow connection and extends over the entire plate width transverse thereto and whose profiles (10) have an angle with respect to the direct flow connection that is larger by comparison with the remaining plate profiles. <IMAGE>
