Abstract

Rotation detector having a rotor (R1) with different attenuation regions (RBA, RBB) about which sensors (1, 2, 3, 4) are arranged which contain an oscillating circuit whose oscillating frequencies are counted in each case after a short excitation, and from this a comparison with a discriminator threshold is used to determine from the undershoot or overshoot of said threshold the respectively obtaining attenuation, and thus the rotor position, and metering signals are transmitted accordingly to a counter. The discriminator threshold is obtained in each case by summing the numbers of oscillations of sensors (1, 3; 2, 4) which are arranged in a complementary fashion with respect to the attenuation regions (RBA, RBB). A monitoring circuit for the oscillating circuits is provided, as are a redundant sensor arrangement and signal evaluation. The rotation detector is particularly suitable for battery-operated supply meters. <IMAGE>
