In general, molded bodies are produced from wood in what is known as a metal-cutting manner.
B. Thermoplasten beachtliche Schwierigkeiten entgegensetzen, deren Über-There are also many known ways of compressing chopped wood with any binders under pressure and Heat to produce bodies with desired shapes, processes that e.g. B. in chipboard production already achieved great importance. There was also no lack of attempts to use chopped wood appropriate binders, also of thermoplastic type, in dissolved or dispersed form and to be mixed to form solid bodies, so to speak, as molding compounds in the manner of injection molding or extrusion molding; however, the processing of shredded wood or wood waste into moldings is on the way the extrusion press has practically not yet been implemented. In those cases where after This type of work was done, the wood particles had to be mixed with the other materials (synthetic resins, etc.) expensive and cumbersome way to be pretreated and processed before they are in the heated Presses could be processed. In addition to these disadvantages, which are based on the cost, the There was also no progress in processing because chopped up wood (such as Sawdust) as an organic naturally grown substance has a large number of properties that processing by means of z. B. oppose considerable difficulties thermoplastics whose over-

Also The nature of the wood means that its proportion in the mixtures remains relatively low and through the too high a proportion of expensive binders, the end product too expensive if it had to.
For all these reasons, for example, Prolilleislon ti. Like initiate even more economically full Hol /, shown in cutting production.
The invention now enables the production of l'rofor bodies made of wood by pre-pressing wood parts, like sawdust, with small amounts of thermoplastic binders in strand, screw or compression molding. All components of the mix including lubricants and softeners and the chemically fast r.-agi send, acid binding probes Substances such as CaC-C); ,, MgCO. ,, come here without special Processing through heat, kneading, smashing od. The like. In solid, crushed, dry form for processing. The amount of addition of the acid-binding substances is chosen so that the Pii-Werl of the respective mixture during processing is kept near the neutral point, so that the adverse effects of Wood can be removed chemically during hot processing.
Reagenzien. The focus of the invention is therefore not only based on the very simplified pretreatment of the Mixtures through the use of sawdust chips and powdery additives, but rather in the .Beigung der adverse influences by means of chemical agents or reagents.
The invention is explained using an example as follows:
A quantity of 58 kg of normal sawdust, which has been dried to about 6 ° / 0 moisture, is blown in a drum mixer with 38 kg of a powdery thermoplastic (e.g. PVC) and powdery lubricants, gelatinizers and softeners, and also with highly reactive powder Carbonates (such as magnesium carbonate) are intimately mixed. The weight proportions of the individual additives depend on the type of wood used; in any case, in the present example they add the total amount to 100 kg. This mixture is then extruded into a profile strip in an extrusion press, which is heated in stages up to about 1So 0 C "and after its end to the temperature, for example, around 40 ° C again.
During diesel treatment are naturally particular Acids such as tannic acid, acetic acid and formic acid from the wood due to the action of heat etc., free, which have a corrosive effect on the tool parts as well as as a result of their gas formation Cause bubbles and cavities in the products and a flawless product would prevent. Due to the reactive carbonates added according to the invention i (! (hole the acids neutralized, bound and thus the aforementioned defects eliminated.
ä.).ICs, however, also have the option or, in the case of certain types of wood, even the need to use alkaline reagents instead of or in conjunction with carbonates for the purpose of neutralization. However, there is a risk that the material remains in the alkaline range and thereby z. B. impaired desired color effects. To remedy this, actively acting neutralizing agents, such as CaO, MgO or the corresponding hydroxides, are added in powder form, which keep the product in the neutral range (p lt value 7 i 1). The residual moisture in the sawdust is released as a result of the high temperature and can escape beforehand with appropriately designed extrusion presses, so that it cannot have any disadvantageous effects, for example through the formation of bubbles, in the further course of processing. If necessary, in accordance with the character of the invention, these could, however, also be eliminated by adding substances that absorb or bind water (e.g. anhydrous calcium or copper sulfate, silica gel, or the like).
The described new process is so simple that it makes the economical processing of z. B. sawdust to moldings allows. It allows the production of moldings that to a large extent Dimensions have the character of the wood in terms of its desired properties, i.e. plane, are nailable, etc., have smooth surfaces and are can also be colored through the whole body.
The material can thus also be wciterbcarbciten, z. B. plane without removing the color effect. On the other hand, there are undesirable properties of wood, such as deformations due to moisture, '95 easy flammability, etc., eliminated.
The profile bodies produced in this way can finally also be put into the extrusion press immediately after pressing In their then still plastic state, they continue to deform in other dimensions, such as the product remains deformable at all when heated again. Finally, any waste or Faulty products are always re-fed to the processing, so that a complete recovery is guaranteed.
In principle, the process can also be used wherever shredded wood is under pressure and Heat must be formed and become corrosive or otherwise noticeable in a disruptive manner Decomposition discrepancies or effects are to be eliminated.
Of course, this method can also be used to produce hollow bodies, pipes or the like.
