Es wurden bereits Rückstromrelais vorgeschlagen, bei denen ein beweglicher Anker unter der Einwirkung einer Spannungsund einer Stromwicklung steht und bei Rückstrom so beeinflußt wird> daß er seine Lage schlagartig ändert und dadurch einen Arbeitskontakt schließt oder einen Ruhekontakt öffnet. Um die Empfindlichkeit dieses Relais zu erhöhen, wurden beispielsweise an den Polen des von der Stromwicklung erregten Eisenjoches auf jeder Seite nach innen zwei die Spannungswicklung tragende Magnetkerne eingesetzt (deutsche Patentschrift 497551). Die Spannungswicklungen waren so geschaltet, daß normal die beiden gegenüberstehenden Wicklungen gleiche Polarität besaßen und durch den Magnetfluß der Stromwidklung der eine der beiden gegenüberliegenden Pole geschwächt und der andere verstärkt wurde, bei Rückstrom aber durch die Umpolung des Eisenjoches sich die Kraftwirkungen umkehrten, so daß sich der zwischen den Polen drehende Anker in die andere Richtung einstellte.
