Der Installateur muß für die verschiedenen Verwendungsfälle zwei Typen von Steckdosen, nämlich solche mit quadratischem und solche mit rundem Tragring, auf Lager halten. Der Tragring 10 ist aus einem z.B. 0,8 mm starken metallischen Blech gestanzt. Der Tragring weist in an sich bekannter Weise eine quadratische Außenkontur auf. Innen in dem Tragring ist ein im wesentlichen quadratischer Ausschnitt 12 ausgestanzt. Hinter dem Ausschnitt 12 wird der nicht dargestellte Steckdosen-Körper über nach hinten abgekantete Lappen des Tragrings 10 befestigt. Der Tragring 10 weist Durchbrüche 16 für Befestigungsschrauben auf. Diese Befestigungsschrauben können einerseits zur Befestigung des Tragringes und andererseits zum Befestigen einer Abdeckung verwendet werden.
