Description
The invention relates to an antenna arrangement, which is composed of two rhombus antennas. The well-known shape of the rhombus antenna consists essentially of two antenna conductors, usually stretched horizontally, which form the sides of a rhombus; at one of the acute-angled corners are those both wires connected to the conductors of the connecting cable leading to the radio, while the two antenna conductors at the opposite acute-angled corner in the case of the rhombus antenna operated with standing waves end freely or with each other are short-circuited, or in the case of the traveling wave antenna are connected to one another via a terminating resistor of a suitable size. the Invention relates primarily to the latter case of progressing with Wave-operated antenna, which is known to have particularly favorable properties has both as a transmitting antenna and as a receiving antenna. Such antennas have practically a constant real over a large frequency range Input resistance, so that it is particularly suitable for performing broadband tasks are. Furthermore, these antennas have a good and of the frequency only to a small extent dependent directivity, which with correct dimensioning of the Terminating resistor is practically one-sided.
These favorable properties have the disadvantage of requiring a large amount of space in the horizontal direction opposite. The rhombic antenna operated with advancing waves requires a length expansion of several times for each side of the rhombus the operating wavelength to the advantages of broadband and directivity mentioned fully guarantee. The use of such antennas is therefore predominant for shorter waves advantageous if for building the in different directions oriented radiator a sufficiently large space is available. @ It yields An additional disadvantage is the need for a great deal of effort - Cable lengths to connect the individual radiators to the central transmitter building.
The aim of the invention is to achieve the aforementioned advantages of the rhombus antennas to make it usable even in cases in which the space is horizontal Direction is limited. According to the invention, an antenna arrangement is to have two rhombus antennas included, which are arranged such that their planes at least approximately stand perpendicular to each other and one of the diagonals of one antenna, preferably its great diagonal, at least in part that of the conductors of the other antenna belongs to the delimited level. In the preferred embodiment of the invention are the rhombus faces each other so that a diagonal of one antenna at the same time also forms parts of a diagonal of the other antenna. By a such an arrangement results in an approximation of halving the total Space requirements. On a surface that otherwise could only accommodate a single antenna, two antennas can be accommodated according to the invention. Accordingly, will also the total cost of cable length with a larger antenna system on the Half decreased. The two are arranged in the manner of the invention Rhombus antennas are completely decoupled from each other, so that they each have a radio can be connected, which is independent of the antenna connected to it the other device can work. Both . However, rhombus antennas can also be used with be connected to the same radio, with at least one of the two between Rhombus antennas and the radio device means for phase shifting the current or the voltage by 90 °, for example, compared to the phase position at the corresponding Place in the branches of the other rhombus antenna can be provided. The antenna arrangement then works with circular polarization. This mode of operation is both in conjunction possible with a transmitter as well as in connection with a receiver and contributes to a reduction in the effects of ionospheric depletion in and from reflection phenomena on buildings, the echo phenomena in television images result. There is also the possibility of using the two rhombus antennas Bridge switch of two closely spaced transmitters working on each other to excite in such a way that a clockwise polarization occurs in a manner known per se for one frequency and a left-hand polarization for the other frequency.
A particularly advantageous use of two in the manner of the invention arranged rhombus antennas results when both from the same transmitter in be energized in such a way that one of the Rbombus antennas is immediately from the exit Ales transmitter and the other one with the one at the exit of the first-mentioned rhombus antenna still existing energy is fed. To this end, from the end of the first Rhombus antenna a line of. preferably adjustable phase measure or adjustable electrical length and preferably adapted characteristic impedance to the beginning of the second Rhombus antenna returned. To with this supply in series connection of both Rhombus antennas to obtain approximately the same field strengths in the main radiation direction, becomes the second rhombus antenna fed with the output energy of the first antenna designed spatially larger than the first antenna. This mode of operation has the known advantage that about 1/4 to 1 / s of the supplied transmitter power Amount of output power otherwise uselessly consumed in a terminating resistor the first rhombus antenna made usable for a part in the second rhombus antenna can be so that the remainder at the output of the second antenna only is about 1 / 1a to 1 / s of the train-driven transmitter power. Even with this type of Feeding of two rhombus antennas from the same transmitter occurs through the invention conditional advantage of the reduced space requirement. - If there is a transmission system often the desire to change the mode of operation of the antennas depending on the moment Needs to be able to choose. For optional setting to one of the different In such cases, the operating modes mentioned can be switching means, especially such with the possibility of remote control.
In addition to the reduction in space requirements, there is the further advantage -that the two rhombuses arranged in the manner of the invention-. antennas on common Supports can be hung. This preference is particularly important then toward a substantial cost reduction, if it turns out to be. to plants of great spatial expansion. An antenna arrangement according to the invention is also especially for the construction of a community antenna system for two or - several receivers that can be operated separately are suitable. For example can be used to form an antenna that is within a higher Frequency band, for example the television band, and within a lower frequency band, for example the VHF radio band, for two receivers from a preferred Transmission direction delivers high usable receiving voltages without mutual Influencing the recipient occurs. In this case it is useful at least one of the connecting lines between a rhombic antenna and the associated one Train the receiving device as a shielded cable.
The condition that the two rhombus antennas are perpendicular to each other should stand, leaves open at which angle each of the planes with respect to the Horizontal plane is inclined. There are two possible arrangements for this into consideration. An electrical equivalence of both antennas, which at the same time a sufficient reception sensitivity for waves horizontally and vertically Polarization assures, results when both rhombus planes at angles of approximately 45 '°' are inclined to the horizontal plane. This arrangement is general preferable if the antennas are to be operated independently of one another. The other possibility, which also gives an overview of the situation, exists in arranging one rhombus plane horizontally and the other vertically. These Arrangement can be used, for example, as a transmitting antenna, with both rhombus antennas work with the same transmitter and in the one suitable for circular polarization Way to be fed.
In the drawing, Fig. I and 2 show different spatial arrangements indicated two rhombus antennas according to the invention.
Abb.5 ist das Schaltschema für die Antennenanordnung nach Abb.4.Fig.3 shows the scheme of a series feed of two in the manner of Invention of arranged rhombus antennas. Fig. -4 shows an antenna arrangement the invention, which is to serve as a universal receiving antenna. Fig.5 is the circuit diagram for the antenna arrangement according to Figure 4.
In Fig. I a, i b, i c are three different arrangements of two rhombus antennas represented according to the invention, in which the plane of one antenna is perpendicular stands for earth bathing. This antenna has the conductors i, 2 and 3, 43 which on its are connected to the feed line on the left end. It is to be assumed that the called conductor 'at its right end via an adapted terminating resistor are related to each other. This terminating resistor is in the present Case and in the other cases of Figs. I and 2 not shown. Fig.i a shows that the second rhombus antenna with the conductors 5, 7 and 6, 8 with its plane horizontal is arranged, the large diagonals of the two rhombus faces partially are common. The two rhombus antennas are decoupled from each other in this way. To also capacitive couplings at the two adjacent corners of the different Avoiding rhombus antennas is the large diagonal of the rhombus antenna 5, 7, 6, 8 kept slightly shorter than the large diagonal of the antenna z, 2, 3, 4. - Fig. I b shows a similar arrangement of the two rhombus antennas. For capacitive decoupling However, another option is used here by placing the horizontally lying one Rhombus antenna 5, 7, '6, 8 somewhat against the vertically arranged antenna i, 2, 3, 4 is shifted to the right; in this way the decoupling can also be used for rhombus antennas of the same size can be obtained: - Fig. i c shows that the one Rhombus antenna, in the present case the one with a vertically arranged plane, too can be represented by its one half, whose head i, 2 along the two Cathets of an isosceles triangle are guided, the hypotenuse of which is approximately lies in the horizontal plane. In this case too, the one is arranged horizontally Rhombus antenna 5, 7, 6, 8 with respect to the rhombus antenna i, 2, 3, 4 completely decoupled.
Fig. 2 shows an arrangement of the two rhombus antennas in which both antenna planes are inclined by 45 'with respect to the ground. In this arrangement both antennas are equivalent to one another with respect to earth. You can therefore work with the same effect on independent receiving devices. It is It goes without saying that even with this arrangement the possibilities shown in Fig. i to reduce capacitive coupling effects at the acute-angled corners in the same way Way can be applied. Due to the unequal distance of branches i, 2 and 3, 4 as well as the branches 57 and 6, 8 from the ground there is a capacitive asymmetry the antenna, which is larger, the lower the height of the antenna above the earth or an earthed conductor. This also applies to the rhombus antenna i, 2, 3, 4 of Fig. I too. This asymmetry can be compensated for by the branches closer to the earth are built from thinner wires than the more distant branches; the mutual spacing of the wires can also be used in the case of multi-wire branches be chosen lower in the branches close to the earth than in the branches further away from the earth, or fewer wires can be used in the branches closer to the earth than in the corresponding parts of the remote branches.
Fig.3 shows the scheme of a series feed of the rhombus antennas i, 2; 3, 4 and 5, 7, 6, 8. It is assumed that the two-wire Feed line is connected to the output 'of a transmitter. In the direction of the entered arrow a - advancing wave occurs in the first immediately antenna fed by the transmitter with conductors 1,: 2 and 3, 4. It is known, that at the output end of a rhombus antenna fed in this way the one appearing there Wave still has an energy of 1/4 to 1 / s of the supplied transmitter energy .. The wave is therefore via the matched line 9, io, which the phase adjuster i contains i, . in the direction of the indicated arrows on the also left input of the second rhombus antenna 5, 7, 6, 8 out. From this. Will a corresponding part of the energy is emitted, and it appears at '- its exit again 1 / s to 1/4 of the energy supplied to its input. This through the series feed accordingly a significantly reduced amount of energy is used in a manner known per se the strongly attenuated - line i2 of adapted wave impedance destroyed. the - required - cable length: can be reduced if the end of the cable not shorted (or left open) but connected to a resistor which destroys the energy arriving at the end of the line. The center of this resistance can generally be earthed. In the context of the invention, this arrangement The two rhombus antennas mentioned above are nested with one another with series feed, their planes being perpendicular to each other.
In the antenna arrangement shown in Fig. 4 for reception purposes - mainly in the VHF range - are those belonging to the two rhombus antennas The conductors have the same reference numbers as in the figures discussed above. In a manner known per se, however, these conductors are multi-stranded, with the strands in the corners at the beginning and end of each antenna closer together are adjacent than at the other two corner points, where the wires are at their greatest distance have from each other. The capacitive asymmetry caused by the earth influence the antenna branches can by one of the measures already mentioned in this context be balanced. Furthermore, for decoupling, the two acute-angled corners of both rhombus antennas, the large diagonal of one antenna opposite the large one Diagonal of the other antenna by a certain amount, for example by 1 / 2o to 1 / 1o the length of this diagonal, arranged offset. The antenna arrangement according to Fig.4 is supported by a vertical standpipe 13. which, for example, on attached to the roof of a building at a suitable location. The standpipe is connected to the center of a double cross by supporting rods that support the Form the diagonals of the rhombus antennas. The support rod 14 is arranged horizontally and lies in the large diagonal of the surfaces. The support rods 15 and 16 cross focus at a right angle. The antenna conductors are about the free ends of the support rods or over. the trusses connected to them and can consist of relatively thin wire, as the crossbar cross strong tension / the antenna conductor allows. It turns out to be both very easy as well as extremely solid construction. which as a result of the low required Thickness of all construction parts is little noticeable. To complement the antenna arrangement with regard to the possibility of receiving medium waves and long waves, the vertical additional antenna conductor 7 provided, which is about the height of Jeer rhombus antennas protrudes. - Fig. 4 shows the required terminating resistors and leads not shown as they would make the drawing confusing. Fig. 4 has mainly the purpose of clearly recognizing the spatial arrangement of the individual parts allow.
From Fig. 5 it can be seen how the antenna or the two antenna parts connected to the associated receiving devices. The two rhombus antennas 1,: 2, 3, 4 and 5,7, 6, 8 are at their left end through the resistors 18 and z9 completed. -Instead of the terminating resistors, strongly damped, For example, lines made up of resistance wires with adapted input resistance connected to the antenna outputs. Also a combination - both options of the kind shown in Fig. 3 is applicable in which to a damped A terminating resistor is connected to a line of shortened length. A grounding the resistance center is not considered in the present case because the antenna effect for lower frequencies would be impaired. The spark gap 25 serves to divert overvoltages. The conductor 26 can in the case of using a conductive standpipe 13 directly connected to this or, if a non-conductive standpipe is used, through this Standpipe. To a grounded conductor. As such a conductor, for example serve for the shielding mantle124. The rhombus antenna z, 2, 3, 4 is directly with 'the Conductors connected to the balanced connection line 22, which do not have any shielding having. The unshielded line can be used in a known manner as Antenna in the short wave, medium wave or long wave range can be used. the Rhombus antenna 5, 7, 6, B is via the balanced line 23 with the receiving device connected, this line to avoid mutual interference with a earthed shielding edge124 is provided. Since in this case the line 23 is not can serve as a receiving unit in the lower frequency ranges, is connected with the antenna arrangement, an additional antenna conductor 17 is used, which over Blocking elements for the operating frequencies of the rhombus antenna with both conductors of the symmetrical line 23 is connected. These locking members can. as shown, be formed by choke coils 2o, 2I.
It has already been suggested elsewhere for the purposes to use a rhombus-shaped antenna loop for a universal receiving antenna, their dimensions in a higher. Frequency range large compared to the wavelength 'and when using a bleeding resistor at the free end accordingly acts as a rhombus antenna while their Dimensions in a deeper one Frequency range comparable to a wavelength, with the same antenna coil in this area when the terminating resistor is short-circuited or switched off as Circulating current antenna works. - By applying this thought, the Improve the antenna arrangement according to Figs. 4 and 5 further. It is accordingly possible the effect as a rhombus antenna (with advancing waves) on the reception of the higher frequency range and the same elements for reception operate within the lower frequency range in the aforementioned different way allow. As in the case of the series supply with the transmitter according to Fig. 3, both can Rhombus antennas also in a similar series connection with a receiving device be connected, which then receives correspondingly higher input voltages.
Around the antenna arrangement shown in Fig. 4 as inconspicuous as possible To make, the support rods 14, 15, 16 and the stand 13 can be made of a translucent Be made of building material. Since the antenna wires are relatively thin, you can it in the case of placing the antenna on the roof of a building when looking at it from the ground can hardly be recognized against the brighter sky. If then the Support bars themselves almost as a result of the use of a translucent building material appear with the same brightness as the sky behind is the entire antenna arrangement extremely inconspicuous and therefore disturbs the overall aesthetic impression of a building.
The two rhombus antennas can also have a square shape. This is particularly advantageous if the antenna arrangement is to be designed to be collapsible, because the individual support rods then have the same lengths. Measurements on antenna arrangements carried out in practice have shown that decoupling of the order of magnitude of 30 to 60 db can be achieved between two rhombus antennas arranged in the manner of the invention, the influence of the ground already being taken into account. However, such decoupling values are completely sufficient for almost all possible uses.
