Zusätzlich sind im Randbereich des Solargenerators in der Ebene der Solarzellen 5 Schmelzkleberfolienstreifen 6 vorgesehen, die etwa die Dicke der Solarzellen 5 besitzen und aus fertigungstechnischen Gründen die zusammengeschalteten Solarzellen 5 allseitig umschließen. Es sind jedoch auch Fertigungsverfahren bekannt, bei denen die Verwendung der zusätzlichen Randstreifen nicht unbedingt erforderlich sind.
